There doesn't appear to be any viable alternative party in Ireland. Opposition parties do much the same thing when 'in power' (either alone or in coalition). The real problem is that the public do not insist on real change. We just shuffle around the politicians at every election. We can complain all day about the Dail, but it just makes us as the public look weak to expect any realistic change without taking our own full responsibilities as citizens to be the overseers of the Dail. We are also so easily manipulated.
