I think it's beautiful to watch such interviews that are about what affects us instead of these mindless celebrity interviews and their private lives
As a Social media manager for SANTACO Travel and Tourism Desk, I'm glad that SANTACO is now opening opportunities for us and I'm happy Penuel you got to interview and speak about the Mobility. I just hope the Youth will get involved and stop listening to the propaganda because they will miss out on opportunities that are open for us to tap in.

The youth must be given welcoming platforms to join. Currently the taxi industry still feels hostile.
SANTACO needs to partner with smart younger guys and use some of their profits to invest in Toyota, insurance products, etc... so that they can eventually own stakes in their value chain, and educate kids within the industry to get into fuel, EVs, manufacturing, insurance, etc.

I am both impressed and hopefull on the existance and implementation of such bright forward thinking within this industry. There have been many innovations that were rejected due to a pool of backward and individualistic mentality. With working government, equipped with functioning supplimentary structures. It will be a proud moment to witness this industry ascend to its destined glory.✊🏽

I don't like claiming stuff coz often times it can come across as goffy or whatever. But I can promise you Pen I have written this shit down and signed on it. This is high level beneficiation and ownership. WE have super smart brothers and sisters working at Investments firms who can create funds that will ensure future financial sustainability and possibly wealth.

This will be my first time watching from Dobsonville, Soweto. I'm always watching from North Cliff. I wanna play the episode on the sound system here at home so that the whole street hears the conversation, cuz ALL conversations here need to be heard by the masses. Anyway, buried my little brother at Westpark cemetery today, it was a trip seeing AKA's grave, broke my heart even more, cuz life seems to be weird in it's ways. Also, Bayers Naude's grave is also there🤯🤯🤯 craaaazyyyyy(cuz of the street name, iykyk), its literally the very first grave you see on your right, I was like, WHAAAAT!!!! then i saw AKA's grave then i was like whaat💔... mxm life's weird gents, be well. Chat tomorrow morning, Pen👑🤘🏽 (hands up for your Victory Lap #episode101letsgoooooo)✊🏾

Love the nuance of this conversation and the potential for growth. This leader really understands the industry and the holes that can be easily filled by the existing infrastructure. Let's protect SA jobs and expand the local market

Beautiful conversation. We need part 2 asap.
Pen. Siyabonga bhut ❤. Every informative, Sibonge ku Baba! Very open Minder , Wisdom over load.
Interesting conversation there God Panuel. Myself & Shange come a long way, with him being in the Meter-Taxi side & myself on the e-hailing side of history. There has been intense moments between me & him as prominent leaders in our different sides of the coin, confrontational moments, friendly moments & there has been a lot for me to learn from him & likewise from me. We have always found & lost each other continuously but we remain colleagues with respect for each other 😊 As a follower & someone who has a lot to share, i knew I was gonna be at The Panuel Show someday but having watched this interview I've got to come now please. 😂 I agree with uDumakude a lot & hereunder let me share my differing views & corrections: 1. The Amendment Bill introduced e-hailing in the Act but e-hailing has been legal since 2016 through the Practice Note. 2. Regulations that applied for Meter-Taxi are the same that applied for e-hailing. The law enforcement just didn't enforce the bylaws. 3. The e-hailing representative, ourselves we were barred from participating in the National Taxi Lekgotla. We got set up by SAMTEA & Taxi Live Africa, it was a physical fight, I had to open a case of assault at Boksburg SAPS 😂 & same day I went to the Public Protector, interestingly both us & the Meter-Taxi benefited from the PP case. 4. Drivers are in it for profit & trust me they'll never reject a trip if it's profitable. Instead, facts currently most drivers prefere shorter trips (will give clarity). 5. Operators wants to move to smaller cars but how do they get rid of the older cars? They're committed for 6yrs through finance & given the mileage, trade in is not an option 🤷🏾 6. Jobs have to be protected especially for us since our government is not reliable in taking care of the people. We all know what happened to the covid money at a time of need 😅 7. My experience with Santaco leadership is mixed, at broad they're business people unfortunately the tune on the ground can be misaligned. For an example Shange says they're competing for a share of the market but since the introduction of Shesha App, there has been harrassment & extortions leveled at ehailing drivers by Taxi squad patrollas. 🤷🏾 I have known Shange for many years & experienced his smartness but I didn't know his background as an entrepreneur, impressive. He once said to me "Mnguni I've been with you for years now & sometimes i turn to wonder, are you a businessman or just an activist. I am a businessman, we need to talk business language than just fight fight. You can remain in that mode of rights, while I will prove to you that i am a businessman". Today I got to understand what he meant.
Eish yah neh, the Taxi industry has had a bad rep for a long time. It's time ama tyma fix this, incorporate fresh ideas and youth, otherwise Pen is right, inkani will mean in years to come we as South Africans may even lose out on this industry. We as Black people have made industries from an environment of poverty, as the years go by, poverty will get less, and some industries like the taxi industry will have to adapt to change fast.
Thanks Peng, great great episode
Zimbabweans uses a system called umalayitsha. Which is a courier service.
Amazing conversation. As a person who has tried to work with the taxi industry to innovate, I wish we had met with more open-minded people like Mr Shange. And I wish his mindset was commonplace in his industry to allow for change to at least be given a chance. Thanks for the Konvo!
"The circulation of money: "The more I have money in my account the more I have freedom of choice". Sibongiseni Shange
Great conversation! The guest is delving into a topic that many of us don't understand. I like the idea that the industry is now embracing technology.
I Can't believe I'm only seeing this 3 days later, great interview
Mr Shange has really educated me on this business that I am currently running for e-halling. I think all transport businesses can co-exist if we get more training about this industry and be willing to evolve.
Thank you bafethu! I also watched a recent video from Zimasa Mooshtaffa Vabaza (so here is something interesting) about E-Halling/Uber and Yellow Taxi Industry in Turkey. It was very insightful! I will be sure to send this video to Mooshtaffa!
Aww Peenzo... I've beeeen waiting for this chat it's like I knew it was coming.... Syabonga bhuti🙏🏽❤️💯
Indeed this is a dope conversation. So stimulating!Thank you once again gents.
Why isn't SANTACO meeting with Toyota and using it's massive buying power to negotiate some deals? Like sale cap, paying more than R500 000 on a Quantum is insane, Etios etc. and maintenance plan for all SANTACO members or registered operators. Before 100 000km you trade it in for a new one and it's deposit fee of sorts. Mechanical centres and manufacturing plants to employ people for this specific industry which they run.
@judacris2810

I don't think they'll agree to all those demands but you have a point. Toyota already owns a huge market share of the taxi industry, people only go to other brands because of affordability, not because other taxis are better and Toyota knows that, but yes some form of partnership is needed.
Great convo gents 🤝
Start a Bank, this is one of my proposal to the Santaco. There's enough cashflow and assets.
Great conversation 🎉
A dope conversation as usual.

Really interesting conversation. Sibongiseni gives one a totally different view nor only of what is but also what could be...
I love this man.
Nice one! At the end of every episode, add a financial literacy section
Very interesting insights. What we also need to understand regardless of the industry. Technology is always ahead of policy. For example AI is here, even cooperates are struggling to come up with policies to deal with AI use, let alone possible competition. I am not even going to mention government response...

Rea leboga P, I haven’t listen yet but being an entrepreneur working in the mobility space I am certain one can surely pick some nuggets in this Konvo. Especially what, why, how this entities exists. Thank you brother and the team. Next get these other companies and bodies on, the likes of your Ubers, Bolt, School Transportation, Gov and entrepreneurs
Great conversation. I was hoping you'd ask him about taxi operator's reluctance to pay tax.
Sbonge 🙌🏾
This episode was special, an angle that we don't get to hear endabeni
I think the taxi industry should make the places they rank safe. People are scared to get mugged. If towns and neighborhoods are safe more people would use taxi's. Companies pay security fees, they should do it themselves or hire people. Because taxis are generally cheaper option
The quality 🔥🔥❤️
The tswane department said that they no longer issue operating permits for e hailing...
Thank god for electric cars,l can't believe some people spent their income on transport making these guys rich
Ehailing cars already have the operator also known as double disc, it's written at the bottom.
Once again, why is there no "thanks" button?
Great conversation 👌🏿 Is this platform available on Spotify?

All these talks and yet i cant request for uber/bolt at a taxi rank 😒,imagine carrying huge luggage but i have to take a taxi by force🚮. The problem is an African problem. Throughout the continent, people in positions of power want to stay there for Life. They don’t allow young people entry. So the Status Quo will remain indefinitely. Eg South African Gov, The SAFA of Irvin & Danny. Everywhere that there is innovation, there are young people involved .

It's been a while hey
I cannot wait for experts to be appointed and do the ground work investigation. Start with something as simple as servicing the cars, paying the driver, safety of both drivers and commuters, insurance, etc. I think these aspects are over simplified. Everyone is taking from vehicle owners but everyone think that owners are ok.
In Soshanguve Taxi Association is bullying people in Malls not to Request, I'm suprised if Shange is saying what he saying

@godpenuel what is the guy saying abt the illegal road back conducted by taxi Patrols n the intimidation to Uber drivers. As far as I know only a traffic cop is authorized to stop vehicles on the road. Is there a contact no to report these taxi patrollers doing illegal road blocks?
South Africans are always looked at as entitled because of a few people but some of us really want work and never get because we don't have degrees and it is my first time hearing of this opportunity that you are talking to you and I am always attending most e-hailing meetings and this is new to me. which platform was used to advertise the opportunity you speak off?
@bonginkosimunyai1153
15 күн бұрын
I agree not all of us that are entitled.
I don't believe that e haling has disrupted the market. When I was a student I mainly used taxis or walked. Now I use Uber if I need to go to the airport.E haling companies and taxis compete for a different marker.Because surely the taxis cannot force me to use their services .
If you are an ehailing driver or owner. Please gather here and reply to what he is saying.
Bolt takes 23 % and its frustrating because maintaining the car and the price of petrol is just too much.
Can someone make a meme from that subtracted?
A driver is also a operator by him driving the car his operating it
To be fair foreigners won't expect anything in their country . The reason why they accept anything here its because they have to survive. For us this is home and I don't think it's a south african problem. Everyone in the world behaves like this in their own land. Yes we need to improve on attitude but I just feel we too hard on our self given the amount of resources we have and how much is actually in our hands
The guy is talking more about empowering taxi bosses but I don't him speaking about drivers being their own bosses. And that's what uber stands for.
Lithium batteries prices are going down real bad, 😂😂 u can put a big battery on ur old car, they call it electric car conversion, u guys are not ready l can tell.
Everything he is saying I agree but that doesn't excuse all the trouble taxi drivers are causing, I am very disappointed by the people in this comment section how they are all falling for his kind approach, MY PEOPLE THESE TAXI INDUSTRY MUST FIX ITS HOUSE FIRST AND STOP THE VIOLENCE BEFORE GETTING INTO OTHER PEOPLES AFFAIRS OR DEPARTMENTS, WE ARE ALL AFTER THE SANE THING ITS NOT LIKE THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO ARE TRYING TO TAKE CARE THEIR FAMILIES, IF PEOPLE HAD A CHOICE THEY WOULDN'T EVEN BE IN BOLT OR E HAILING SERVICES, STOP THE VIOLENCE FIRST!
But undermine drivers like that, driver's understand Business without the training that talking about, this teta training it just a dream, teach also taxi not to bully passenger.
This guy is just crying for more unnecessary red tape 😒
Tax drivers are very rude and arrogant that's what chase commuters in the taxi
Pen. You need to interview this lady. She's a leader and she is powerful because she trusts in Jesus only.
Pen why did you thought you were going to be rich 2012?
Can we finesse 2 episodes a week bafo
No man Ramaphosa signed what ? This country is just making things difficult, How will those make money if one request from Pretoria to Sandton? SANTACO making people bow to them, SANTACO needs to move more into realible, safe and clean public transportation they need to innovate like china in terms of public transport.
