Kudos to you, Penuel, for bringing such an insightful guest like Solly Msimanga to the show! I must say, I'm impressed by his wealth of experience and understanding of governance. While I won't be voting for the DA due to their arrogance, similar to the ANC, I believe Solly could bring valuable expertise to the table. If he were part of a party that aligns with my values, I'd definitely give him a chance as Premier to see the positive change he could bring. It's refreshing to see someone who grasps the depth of the problems we face. Great job, Penuel, keep bringing us thought-provoking conversations!

After watching this I can safely say, right now we don't need a political party to take us forward. We need people who will come together and say " here are the problems for South Africa, Here are the solutions and here are the possibilities..." then "here's how we move forward." We need people who will move the country forward and make sure our country work because the most irritating thing is that our problems are born from greed and political lines. Can we have leader who are for South Africa and it's development. Let forget about our comrades and think about South Africans and South Africa.

Despite the many complaints on the comments!! I am for The Penuel Show having politicians as guests for the coming weeks. Its Election season and whether we go out in numbers to vote or not, we atleast have to hear what the message from the people in these positions of power is. Let us lose this Country at own peril, and not in the hands of a few individuals. There are civil servants in these political parties that want to do the work, but are just tired in by party loyalty. I sometimes wish we just voted for individuals to represent us in Parliament and not go via the party. The least we can do is hear their story.

Ow guys, so we complain that our dilemma is not knowing who to vote for but we do not want to take the time to listen to these parties. Kanti what do we want? All these podcasts interviewing these parties are doing a lot of the leg work for us. I could not see myself attending any rally or going to a website, and reading some long a$$ manifesto. We are only asked to sacrifice a little time to make a somewhat informed decision that will affect all of us for the next 5 years and beyond, instead of standing in that booth on the 29th and putting an "x" next to a "popular" face or party.

The fact that we are complaining about having politicians is concerning. We are a country that has abondoned politics and it has been to our detriment. It means we are still not prepared to take ownership of our role and holding each other accountable (including leaders and ourselves). I am not a fan of the DA but I am willing to listen to them just for growth purposes. After listening to Solly, I am still not convined to switch to DA because it has not mentioned what it is willing to do for the poor marginalised populations which is a large part of our communities. I am still not convinced to switching to DA (because I am black mostly) and I dont think they would do anything to support a poor south african in improving their lives. Great job on the content here and thanks.

What have Helen Zille and John Steeinhusien done wrong? Because If they are doing a good job, there's no need to change a good formula. 2. If you noticed, DA still has the most diverse, qualified and gives the best opportunities to all people of all backgrounds. They have been doing it for years now. No other party can even match. DA has black support all over the country. Also has many black in leadership on all levels, a including myself. 3. The Black leaders who left for whatever reason, had their PEAK in the DA and 90% of their achievements they quote are from their time in DA. Big black support didn't leave DA and join them.

You won't see the same useless people, holding onto power for 30 years in corruption , instead we grow and distribute people all over.

I always struggle with the influx of people from the Eastern Cape to Cape Town, as Pen highlighted. The population of the Western Cape has mainly consisted of Black (Xhosa), Coloured, and white people. It seems like the DA is using this as an excuse. Most Eastern Cape residents in the Western Cape are there for work and return to the EC after retirement. The focus appears to be on those who come to the WC, rather than those who leave for other provinces. When I go home, I often find that many people have left the WC, and there are new faces. Another point is the large number of foreigners who have entered the hospitality industry in the Western Cape. I am always shocked to see that 95% of the staff in these restaurants are foreigners. I wonder who benefits from the 4 out of 5 jobs created in the WC according to the DA. For someone who grew up in Nyanga East, it's disheartening to see the lack of development in these townships - instead, they are deteriorating. Human settlement projects are halfway done. It's just a mess

Imagine if the only thing you had to do to make South Africa better was to listen to what the people who are campaigning to run the nation had to say. I'm starting to make peace with the fact that as South Africans we are quick to complain and state what the problems are but never give ourselves time to learn and understand what the system is and who the players are so we can make better decisions going forward. I know that politics may not give you the dopamine boost you're looking for but for the sake of our nation please stay tuned and pay attention. Nothing that is ever worth while is fun otherwise everyone would be tuning in.

@@mmd1314 the DA has done alot to convince voters but then our black people are racist to vote for the DA.look at the recent advert they did about a flag .people chose to misinterpret it even though it was clear dat the DA will restore a burned South africa by ANC ,our voters vote based on race and tribe thats why you see alot of Zulu people support MK and alot of Bapedi and Basotho vote EFF.they dont vote based on Merit and track record they vote based on race and likes for certain individuals thats why this country is collapsing and it will continue to worsen off until people decide to let go of hate..

@@TshepisoMogamiI beg to differ. Most black people are voting based on experience. Unfortunately, the DA has not convinced us enough to vote for them, especially considering the supposedly well-governed province of the Western Cape. I was one of the many black people who voted for the DA in 2014 (GP) and 2019 (WC) and soon realized they are not what they claim to be. This is particularly evident if you have worked and lived in the Western Cape, as you will understand what I am talking about.

I've voted for the ANC twice in my life, so the narrative of blanket hating the ANC is moot. Only a retard would continue voting ANC with the loadshedding, looting, destruction of SOEs, crime, illegal foreigners increasing poverty, etc... unless if they are benefiting directly. So you can choose which one applies to you.
