why do pagans resent Christianity so much? if you are a practicing pagan-- what power are you calling up/down to actually exorcise errant spirits? Yes, I have listened to your jewish/greek origins and I know that you are claiming a little bit of everything in your practice-- sure. I just wonder why the animosity remains. It seems to be especially hypocritical within Catholicism meaning that they turn to paganism whenever it suits their historical benefit. in your personal practice-- how do you deal with elementals that tend to bully and control a home or a situation causing ill health, addiction and all manner of interference? of course, some of this is ignorant young witches throwing curses around and riding people like horses while blaming daddy or mommy for everything. how do you personally defend against such things? my background is very mixed as well, but further along the road as an ancestor practice emerges and certain things are known-- one cannot claim allegiance to every system in the same way that one cannot have constant orgies without facing decline. if you merely write books and seek internet fame, it earns you a career, but actual practice is very different than writing a book about it.

Fascinating interview! In your experience, do solomonic pentacles really work? If so, in what way does it all happen?

@@henriquemonteiro3403 Yes, my experience is that they are very effective, but that the results of different pentacles, used in different ways, plays out differently. I think it's a very adaptable medium.

@@SaraMastros thank you for kindly answering my question. I´m getting your book in the next few days. The pentacles seem to me very similar to the Hebrew Psalms, both in the way they look and should work. I frequently pray the Psalms and find it interesting how the effects seem to be a mixture of psychological change (it changes the way you look at a goal you´re chasing) and the discovering of overlooked opportunites that are present. Would you agree or do you think they work differently?

thanks for this. Sara is perhaps my favorite woman of the arts, but i'm an old hag who doesn't know who the Taylor Swift of magic currently is. (of course Mary Greer and all the "Women of the Golden Dawn" are top notch)

@@SaraMastros don't be too flattered-- the playing field is full of ignorant bullies and at least you aren't the straight wiccan, no effort type. here's to hoping there are real practitioners out there in the foxholes instead of shoving their faces out on the internet taking selfies with friends. I mentioned the founding women of GD for a reason.

i'm not sold on complete jewish language literacy needed for magical practice. the spoken and written language is a different skill more related to jewish culture than magical practice. the letters have a symbolic meaning and pattern that will be missed by someone fluent in the spoken/written language. perhaps for synagogues and certain academics that are trying to write a book, such minute detail is important. however, there is an immediacy for the exorcist that needs to actually deal with spirits that this discussion fails to address.

I agree. Pentacles do not require Hebrew fluency; indeed, my Hebrew is not 100% fluent. I'm not sure what I said that made it seem like I was saying magical practice requires complete fluency.

Most of us have no idea how we are coming across when speaking. please, please remember that your chief value to the future of mixed gender adepts is your actual practice of magic. not the public speaking, not the podcasts, not the translation stuff or even writing books-- it's the actual practice.
