    In fact, you can have 9 effects in the chain. There are "only" 6 footswitches but if you have always on effects like a spring reverb or a compressor you just dial in the tone you like, don't assign a footswitch to it and leave it on at all times. You can even switch on multiple effects at once using a single footswitch, so you could even control the 9 effect blocks if you really want to. Another cool feature are the midi control and also the key commands via usb. I made some presets for online Zoom teaching with shortcuts to switch my mic on and off. Very useful !

    Appreciate the overview. Your demo is great for me b/c I prefer to play clean and those tones your bustin' out sound soo good. I have the Stomp but also have a Quilter Aviator Cub that I love and feel this is the pedal I need. 🙏🏻

    I gig with an HX Effects in 4CM with a Bluguitar Amp1 with MAJIK BAND. It turned an amazing amp into the ultimate amp with effects and amazing routing abilities. Really great piece of gear. I run preset per song and other preset boards for different needs.

    @@limbubasantakumar9572 I was worried about that. I had tried the Headrush MX5 first and it did not feel or sound right to me. However the HX Effects sounds and feels great. No noticeable tone change or latency issues. Levels great out of the box for 4cm. It really helps to put the wet effects after the preamp. Then you can channel switch and not muddy up your reverbs and delays and such. My live tone is better than ever. Together the Amp1 and HX really make a super capable rig. It’s kind of like an AMP X that Thomas Blug is working on. My signal path is: Guitar into Hx. Out a loop into a bunch of pedals I love. Drives including a Crazy tube circuit tube overdrive to add a tube stage to the preamp. Then into input of Amp1. Then fx out of amp into loop return of Hx. Then output of HX into Fx return of amp. I found it better to run my analog drives right into the amp input and not into the front of the HX. I found this to make the biggest difference in the amps response and feel with my analog pedals. The HX buffer really sounds good and clean. Maybe things like certain fuzz or wah might sound better first on chain before the HX. I just haven’t tried it yet. Too busy gigging with MAJIK BAND to mess with my board. Check out MAJIKBAND. Com.

    You can have 9 effects at once, with real time control over up to 8 effects at a time. In 4 cable method, you can have 8 effects and real time control over all of the effects independently if you use expression pedals to control the on/off state for 2 of them, but that requires sacrificing the amp control. But, I get around that with an AMT FS-2 Midi 2 button footswitch which the HX effects can send midi control changes to. I also have an A/B switch so I can plug a single expression pedal into both pedal jacks. So, with this unit, plus 1 expression pedal and a two button footswitch, I have real time control over 8 independent effects, channel switching for my amp, and real time parameter adjustments over 2 different sets of parameters simultaneously. And I can have 4 variations of any patch including amp switching, effect on/off state, and parameters for each effect per patch using snapshots. Its insanely powerful and great sounding. The only weakness of the unit is the lack of the variable impedence circuit, which messes up the fuzz pedals.

    Could you not run the fuzz in between your guitar and the HX effects unit (making the fuzz the first pedal in the chain), or would that not work?

  • @scottlevine5030

    @scottlevine5030

    Ай бұрын

    @@castleanthrax1833 of course. And I do. But I'm talking about the internal fuzz pedals in the HX effects. There are tons of them, and they would be really cool except for the input impedance issue. Because they are component modeled, they behave exactly like an old fuzz pedal behaves if it's in the middle of your chain after a buffer. Which is badly. This is why the legacy fuzz face model sounds better than the helix model. There was no way around this before the HX one came out, but now you could just put that first in your chain and have all of the fuzz models working properly.

    I have one of these and really like it, I use it with a blues cube artist and it’s such a convenient rig. However if I use it in the fx loop using an fx loop block it changes the tone, using the analog bypass I can really hear the difference. The amp only tone has a nice round eq and bottom end, wiith the fx block enabled the tone sounds thin and looses some bottom end. The only work around I’ve found is to drop the level of the fx block to 50% which helps but it’s still changed the tone !

    You have to use snapshots to avoid delayed Midi switching. When changing presets the HXFX first loads all the effects of the new preset and at the very end does the switching.
