I think they would’ve done better giving Mr. Krabs his own show. He has an intriguing and solid history. With him being in the navy, a pirate, and a once poor kid in Bikini Bottom. Also the PEARL story!? I think it would’ve stood a much better chance.

My favorite Patrick was his discussion on wumbo and the fact that he ended up being right. At first Patrick was a lot more than a lethally stupid random character

I agree with Alpha here and watching this video made me realize something: it's similar to how Family Guy does their plots: use a small plot in the beginning with cutaways to artificially lengthen the show to meet the 22 minute amount, with how TPS uses the same SB characters with not much confidence in their new characters to make the show their own. It makes a show somewhat flimsy if they can't rely on their own characters, especially if it's a spin-off. Sorry for the rant and here's my favorite Patrick quote: "Wait, Spongebob! We're not cavemen! We have technology."

They call that the first act misslead. They borrowed it from the Simpsons. The Simpsons always does that. In the art of family guy book they said that they come up with funny ideas first and think how can we build up to that. You can't just jump into the crazy you have to ease into the crazy. Admittedly in the weaker episodes the being has very little to do with the rest of the story. Also it adds joke variety to the epsidoes.

Family Guy episodes would be pretty jarring without the first act misleads. Remember the episode turban cowboy. Peter gets addicted to sky diving then gets impaled on a sky scraper. He then goes to the hospital and makes a Arab friend. He turns out to be a terrorist. If the episode began with Peter meeting the terrorist that might have been a bit much for the first few minutes. You gotta slowly build-up to the insanity.

Favorite moment was “that’s not my wallet” it makes me laugh every time I see it

Oh boy so many favorite moments, from "firmly grasp it" to "Im dirty dan!" Or even "Is mayonaise an instrument?" He has a lot of good old quotes.

Favorite Patrick quote: "I don't speak Italian." This was an early quote from when SpongeBob and him were babysitting Sandy's pets. The butterfly episode if you're still confused.

My favorite Patrick moment will always be everything leading up to "WHAT'S IN THAT BOX, ANYHOW?!" "my wallets"

Listen I get it, we shouldn't just say that this show shouldn't exist because the creator said so, but I don't use that as an argument because they're disrespecting the creator's wishes, but because I feel the reason why he didn't want spinoffs was because he knew they simply wouldn't work, like why does Patrick need his own show? The answer: he doesn't and Hillenburg knew that. All of those good episode from this show are episode thar we could have gotten within the SpongeBob show which already had Patrick centered episodes. It's the same way I feel about we baby bears

Yeah, I agree with ya! A spinoff is made to be different, to give a different character their own starring role (Get it?). But if you keep reminding us of the original series again and again we won't want to watch it, and it's not even nostalgic or anything. That's my probably bad take on it.

I like Uncle Grandpa for this kind of humor because they go all the way with it. Everything this show does has been done better elsewhere.

Nickelodeon should do new cartoons with the 90s - early 2000s humor and innuendos again one day honestly

Favorite Patrick moment is from the first movie, where he tries his best to cheer up SpongeBob when he didn't get the job as manager. I didn't and still don't watch a lot of SpongeBob, but that moment really showed me how sweet and himbo-esque Patrick is, and how deep their friendship is as well :)

Recalling adult characters in the same show I enjoyed as much as the kid characters, I'd say that'd be the grown-ups in Rugrats. They were just as funny, if not more funny, than the babies. Especially Stu and Grandpa Pickles.

Nickelodeon is being really disrespectful to Stephen Hillenberg. He would be mad right now if he saw the Patrick star show or camp coral. He never wanted spinoffs of SpongeBob

Ive loved the Pateick Star Show a lot, but I agree it feels like More Spongebob, along Kamp Koral they could just branded those as Spongebob Specials like Adventure Time did with Islands/Elements/Distand Lands and keep them part of the main show if it still the same thing

This is why Patrick being the main character dosen't work. This is why I knew this show wasn't going to work at all. Because this very episode shows me that the writers don't really have any confidence in just having Patrick and his family be the stars of the spin off, so they force in SpongeBob, Squidward, Gary, Plankton, and Sandy to keep everyone attention. Proving to me, that nobody believes Patrick can carry this show on his own. So, what was the point of making it then? It's called the Patrick Star show. Not the Patrick and friends show. Not to mention, the clips here aren't very funny. With Squidward being made into an idiot, for a gag that's not funny, along with everyone else just being there, just because. I just don't see any point in watching this show, when it's clear this spin off was only made to keep on milking the SB franchise.

While I haven't seen this show personally and cant fully judge it. I do have to say it looks just kinda boring. Of the things ive seen in this video it doesnt really sell me on the show. When I see this show it just makes me ask myself why aren't I just watching Spongebob. Also my favorite Patrick line is Wumboing, wumbology, the study of wumbo! It's first grade, Spongebob. Having Patrick actually know what he's talking about and not being just a dumb character is really funny to me.

Spongebob: This is more embarrassing then the time Squidward thought HE was getting the spin off. Squidward: Later, barnacle heads! Have fun with your stupid Krabby Patties and your Jellyfish fields and your- Hey why is there a moving truck outside of Patrick’s house?

The problem is that most studios now a days are so creatively bankrupt that _this_ is what the Patrick Star Show was _destined to be._ It's literally just Spongebob with the spotlight on Patrick. It's kind of like what happened with Seth MacFarlane's cartoons; the Cleveland Show was basically Family Guy but centered on Cleveland, while American Dad stands on it's own with a genuinely unique feel. In this instance, Nick only knows how to do the former because Spongebob should never have had spinoffs in the first place. The problem with the show is obvious; too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. It would be like if we got a cartoon series that feature the Genie from Aladdin as the main character. Don't get me wrong, Genie is undoubtedly the best part of the Aladdin movies and cartoon show, and could probably carry the show a lot better than Patrick can here...but the problem is, the character isn't designed for that. Genie is designed to be that fast-talking-wild-card that is exposed to the audience, sporadically, in appropriate doses. If he was the lead and had to carry the entire show, not only would that fundamentally be against his character, but his fast-talking, quipping nature would get tiresome, _fast._ The same with Patrick...he was designed to be a second-fiddle for Spongebob, and that's genuinely all he ever _deserved_ to be. I don't even get what the creative process behind _making_ this show was, especially considering that Spongebob itself is still being produced. You have two shows that are virtually indistinguishable that take place in the same universe. It feels like they only wanted this Spin-off just to _do_ a spin off.

Not all the episodes in The Patrick Star Show utilize the main characters from the original SpongeBob series. They only appear every once in a while where Patrick and his family are the major focus, making it different from the original series. Kamp Koral is literally the original show but with a different setting.

I like a lot of older Patrick moments, a few being: "Happy Birthday!" (Spongebob gets yeeted) "Here's your present!" (smack) "yOu'Re WeLcOmE :D" Spongebob: "Hey, Patrick." Patrick: "Hey." S: "Are you angry too?" P: "Yeah." S: "Why?" P: "I can't see my forehead. >:(" "When in doubt, pinky out!™" (Ages after Spongebob's house gets destroyed by nematodes) "O_O Spongebob! It's like the writers have no idea how to make Patrick his own character in his own show without throwing in familiar characters. If I wanted to see Spongebob and his friends, I'd watch Spongebob.
