Pakhtuns follow a very early and independent version of Islam. They have a separate identity. While copying Arabs, Punjabi Paki establishment tried to suppress many identities in South Asia.

Thanks Dr Yaqubi for a very educative talk. Not many here in India are aware of these aspects of Pakhtuns’ history as covered by you. Thanks once again.

By18th century Mugal rule was limited to Red fort only. Punjab was under Sikhs & most of Indiia was under Maratha rule.

Pakhtoons are actually a vedic tribe. In Mahabharata , The daughter in law of Kuru Kingdom family named Gandhari was princess of Gandhar (Kandhar) and the wife of Dhritrashtra.Gandhari was born to Subala, the ruler of Gandhara. During Buddha period , people used follow Buddha's teachings. Even the biggest university of Taxshila were lord Buddha studied belonged to KPK. Good to know that now people are recognising thier own history. At least they don't have any guilt for thier hindu /Jain /Buddhists ancestry. It's very ridiculous fact that even in India Anglo Indian people felt insult when someone call them British but a black bihari /up muslims call them Mughal. 😆

Gandhara people were Indo Aryan, their language was Indo Aryan, Pathans are Iranic people with Pashto being an Eastern Iranic language.

The common belief in India that Kandahar is Gandhara is plain wrong. There is no evidence whatsoever for it. Pashtuns are Iranic people. The claim of 5000 years of 'vedic culture' is a cooked up story.

Vedas are not the oldest scriptures. It's not old as 5000 years. Pakhtuns are Iranic people.

General Akbar khan(pindi sazish case fame )claims that tribes were already in FATA area and embraced Islam at the advent of Mahmoud of Ghazni. (I read his book about 50 years ago so can’t give exact reference )

This kind theories of origin in modern times have less relevance, DNA 🧬 evidence proved highest percentage of R1a dna in Pakhtun and upper caste hindus.

You are totally wrong. Ethnically we pashtuns are not from indian races nor arabic.. our race traces back to bani israel . Pashtuns are from a tribe of yahood i.e. bani israeel, who as a whole accepted islam during early times of islam. Pashtoons have never been hindus.
