Dear Florent, you are a wonderful teacher, a Master. I just got close to oil painting technique and you made me fall in love with this medium. Thanks from Italy

Wonderful video! I am primarily a landscape painter and I'd love to get better at portraits but the precision needed is daunting. After all, if I get a branch out of place, the tree still looks like a tree. If I get an eye out of place, the model looks like a science fiction villain...

What tip is this? Painting in black and white to study values? I did that for so long my black & whites are so much better than the ones in color.

i think the main point is to paint in grisaillle to learn how to use brush and move paint, perfect exercice as a transition between charcoal and oil painting in colors (and.of course, value study)

Maybe try to learn how to match values in color? Or just glaze over the black and whites. Just a thought. I feel the same way with my stuff lol

What would you do next? Glaze?

In this case the exercise stops there but if you wished to continue then, yes, glazing and scumbling would be the best way to add color after letting it dry.
