I like the left one
I really like the idea of using plumb line, it makes so much easier to get started. if it is possible will you please comment of scaling up and down a drawing from a photo. Thanks
What about Lavender spike oil as a solvent?
I could still use that though. Sometimes I need to mix just a tiny amount of paint and wish I had a smaller palette knife
Great advice and I appreciate the encouraging words.
Best explanatory work I have so far found! I take my hat off for you, sir! A huge THANK to you for your color wheel also in free PDF! You are just wonderful! God bless you most richly! Best regards from Sweden! I love colors and painting but it is such a demanding practice to choose the right values and colors! Your work is indeed a important help to work properly and systematically with colors in paintings!💯👍💝👌
I tried a wooden palette. It was horrible. I later learned that it was untreated and needed some linseed oil first. I currently use a paper palette and it does okay for me. I need to get some frames for some of my panel paintings and I think I know what I’m doing with the glass now.
An “ah ha!” moment for me. I am going to change my process immediately! Love you Florent! Thank you for your generosity in sharing your talent and techniques!
“Forgotten technique” *except at any figure drawing lab
This is probably the best video about this subject. Congrats.
❤❤❤

I had to take the time to comment this. Your videos and explanations are so ethereal. The way you explain color theory and the nature of color is so beautiful. I’ve never seen it viewed like this anywhere online. Thankyou
its like musical harmony. We can use 'complimentaries' but they are functional complimentaries
Neither . If there is a right answer its in between . But there isnt
❤❤❤
use a grid like many artists
Florent, your gentleness and sweetness of spirit are a creative inspiration in and of themselves. Your talent, intelligence, and expertise are a tremendous benefit to all the novices out here, like me! Merci. 🥰
Wow great painting, usually i take 1 years to make like that 😂
🎉🎉 thx bro make me find what i needed why proposional cant be easy when i turn my neck.
Many thanks for that Florent! One of the best demonstrations and explanations I have ever seen. I think this will lead me to a reorganization of my palette into something more usable.
Thank you Florent. I am a beginner artist. I struggled with almost everything you mentioned here. This was extremely helpful. I like your teachings.
Thank you for your honesty and insight.
I would love to have him as my teacher
Yes! Ivory Black functions as the blue hue in the Zorn Palette: lh6.googleusercontent.com/-VRA1LOhEXFA/TYUTFn5qQAI/AAAAAAAAAcI/Zq2mrc1v4rg/zorn-palette.JPG And I agree with mixing one's own blacks using complementaries because the results are much more interesting; you can create colorful off-blacks this way.
Appreciate this I’ve had to watch it a few times for it to sink I’m glad I’m realizing it now 6 months in
