Arjun had so many misses this year but he was constantly among the top in most tournaments he played this year, 1st at Sharjah, 5th at Qatar (could've easily been 1st if not for a rook blunder), 4th at Grand Swiss, 2nd at Gashimov Memorial, tied 1st at Chennai Grandmasters, 15th at World Rapid and 6th at Blitz and in both these events he was among the leaders from start so only faced top players. He was close to getting the Circuit spot too, it's only a matter of time before he get his big break and win a tournament like this.

He didn't see that his king was on d4 . If king was not there , Arjun has some great winning chance. He immediately notices that after his move . You can see his reaction which he did after his move. If he saw his king on d4 then he would have found Rg3 and he was also low on time

  • @AndiZ23

Rg3 would still lose. After Black plays Kh7, White still cannot stop Ra1, forcing loss of White's rook, because N on h4 protects the pawn and Ra1 covers the queening square. White can check a few more times, but provided Black doesn't allow Ng6 with check which distracts Black's Knight, Black still wins. It's super complex, not just a simple oversight that Black could queen with check.
