The number 1 thing for hitting approach is probably the timing tho xD, and it is learnt by experience and feeling.. which is pretty hard

Thakns, that's the best tutorial on KZread that covers everything within the approach, i struggled with my technique a lot but by training without the ball i managed to hit every ball powerfully without touching the net

I noticed insane shoulder mobility before your jump. Behind my back I can't even get my hands above shoulderlevel. I guess the 2 last steps are super important. The 2nd to last to load the hips. And the last as a brake to fling everything upward. Thanks!

Can you please make a video on the right-handed player attacking from the right side of the court?

I'm seriously confused.. Not by what you are teaching, but how the videos are made! 😅 Sometimes it feels like I'm watching super high quality video game like animations, and sometimes it feels like I'm watching normal video footage but maybe with some type of picture effect filter? Can you bring peace in mind for me about this? :D Otherwise, cool videos, it looks like you have perfect/near perfect mechanics that you are praising, I'll have a longer look! :)

Learn Beach Volleyball Fast: I appreciate the comment! All of it is done in iMovie with some filters and a bit of creativity. It took years and years of training to get to the point where I could do this without thought. I did so with some of the best coaches in the world and an education in Kinesiology. Thanks again!

@@torqvb Awesome! I'm myself in process of perfecting my form, after I saw this one guy have similar form to you in real life which basically expanded my understanding of what is possible hahaha. Figuring the technique out has resulted in bad self control in terms of training volume every time I have made a strive forward and gotten too stoked, so elbow and shoulder has just gotten way too many reps and got beaten up. Will be interesting to see if I'll be able to pull this project off, but I am optimistic! :) The guy I've been watching is David Åhman who won 2018 youth olympics in beach, I can find you some videos if you want hahah.

Learn Beach Volleyball Fast: send me a video of you swinging on Instagram and I might be able to help. From the side is best like the videos I post.

@@torqvb Hahah awesome! I'll send you a video once I start feeling satisfied with the change I'm going through now, it just takes some time because I'm trying to balance out a shoulder overuse thing in combination with the change hahah. But I am getting very close!

Does your body have to turn after you spike?

  • @torqvb

Izac Vue: no it doesn’t have to turn completely, but most people don’t rotate enough and end up landing on the right leg if you’re right handed.

@@torqvb ok. But it can turn for more speed too right?

  • @torqvb

Izac Vue: try to think about it in terms of speed not necessarily the amount. When teaching I’ll often try to get the player to rotate as far as possible just so they begin to understand how to do it as well as to protect their joints. Eventually it will depend on how fast the initial activation of your torso is. One of the big predictors of velocity is the amount of separation you can get between your hip and shoulder, much like a pitcher in baseball.
