The Orville is a breath of fresh air in the sci-fi genre, effortlessly blending humor, heart, and high-stakes space exploration. Seth MacFarlane's brainchild strikes the perfect balance between homage to classic space operas and a witty, contemporary narrative.
The show's strength lies in its characters, each one a unique and lovable addition to the diverse crew. The chemistry among the cast is palpable, making every moment, whether comedic or dramatic, resonate with authenticity. MacFarlane's Captain Ed Mercer leads with a perfect mix of charisma and vulnerability, creating a protagonist you can't help but root for.
The Orville's writing is a standout feature, weaving intricate plots with social commentary and clever humor. It fearlessly tackles relevant issues while maintaining a sense of optimism and hope, mirroring the best traditions of the sci-fi genre. The special effects are top-notch, creating visually stunning scenes that rival big-budget productions.
What sets The Orville apart is its ability to surprise and delight. It's not afraid to take risks, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats while delivering moments of genuine emotion. Whether you're a hardcore sci-fi fan or just looking for a captivating and entertaining series, The Orville is a journey worth taking. In a universe filled with options, The Orville stands out as a shining star in the vast expanse of television. Welcome to Talking The Orville! Where a fan can be a fan... ENJOY WHAT YOU LIKE.

It's a love letter to Star Trek... Everything that Star Trek misses... The Orville nails... I picked it up a few months ago from clips on KZread... Now I've binged watched the entire 3 seasons.... New Horizons is dope... This show is really, really good!

I just discovered The Orville after I retired this year and I cannot tell you the thrill I get from it. It is so well done, the production values and direction are magnificent, but the star of this show is the writing and acting. I truly connect to these people and care about them, get pissed at them, and am absolutely absorbed by their individual stories. The little inflections and mannerisms each actor invests into their roles just gives such life to the entire ensemble. Special praise for the writing; this is how humanity should be, a little rough around the edges but with a good heart and solid moral compass. These are the stories that make me hope that this is the direction humanity is going and that's what makes a great show. It makes me think, reconsider my own values, laugh and be amazed. Very well done.

As someone who watched all versions of Star Trek as a child, I took better humanity for granted as a certainty. The number one Star Trek rule is to respect ALL sentient life no matter how difficult it is. Unfortunately, I question if humanity will eventually get there. It sometimes feels like no matter our technological progress, we are programmed genetically to be hierarchical. We can’t seem to stop creating elite classes. And we are so intelligent, as a species, I feel like we are limitless with what we can do. But our potential progress is only invested in with a promise of making money. I don’t mean to be a Debbie downer, but instead of seeing Star Trek in the future, I see The Expanse. But, maybe I’m wrong?

i have heard that before about serenity and farscape and other shows, but it doesn't always happen, no matter how high the credibility goes, until the money is in the account, the studios can still say no.

Well it's a love letter to Star Trek, right? And TNG, DS9 & VOY all had 7 seasons so it should really go on for 7 seasons to be "accurate" 😁😉

Incredible, love this show, and was really dissappointed when s3 finished. I stumbled across a trailer for it about 3 episode into s1 and have been hooked ever since. The characters are amazing and really lovable, and its genuinly funny, as you would expect from seth. I dont care if its feature length movies or more series, i need more, so im so happy to hear that from the horses mouth.

Hell yeah! 😁 Watched the first 2 seasons as they came out, started over just last week and was really bummed a couple of days ago when I realised I only had the last episode left. So I haven't watched that yet as I didn't want it to end. Now I can merrily go watch it 😍

I'm a fan of The Orville... But I'm practical and Networks are more finicky than a cat... they'll cancel successful shows just to make room for some new POS that fails quickly for who knows what reason... I hope you're right is all I can say...

Like the news of a new Star Trek movie and new Babylon 5 I have been disappointed too many times to get my hopes up. I hope you are right but until contracts are signed and the show has gone into production I won't get my hopes up too much. At least the show had 3 great seasons with each improving on the last and it ended in a way that I was happy with.

Considering other franchises being ruined lately, need I mention The Acolyte, Book Of Boba Fett, Dr. Who, ST Discovery, Picard season 1 and 2 etc, I guess all I can say is *"Help me Seth MacFarlane. You're my only hope".* With that I mean The Orvile being more like proper sci-fi and more Star Trek than Star Trek has been since 2005. There has been some new good sci-fi shows like The Expanse and Three Body Problem, but they are few and far inbetween. What was the last before that besides Enterprise? Battlestar Galactica in 2004, I guess. It's almost like I'm afraid when they announce reboots, reimagines or remakes these days, thinking to myself "Oh no, how are they going to destroy this old beloved franchise?". It's sad that that is what it has come to in this day and age. 😢

I liked season 1. I was really excited for this show. When season 2 hit with preachy lefty propaganda, i dropped it like a hot potato. Too bad.....
