I think I saw your band. Wizard and Boot at Clearwater Municipal Auditorium.
Rare 60's and 70's rock is still alive and well
I am digging the trippy beat.
Freedom has one of the best guitar riffs ever heard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for bringin' this music to the younger generation like me.

YOU need to rock and roll, pallie!
"Wizard were an American psychedelic/hard rock band, which formed in 1970 in Tampa, Florida and disbanded 16 months after the formation. Wizard released just one studio album which went unnoticed but, according to AllMusic, "…their sound was considerably more imaginative and interesting than much hard rock from the period, including many of the similar bands who earned far more commercial popularity than they did". Paul Forney (Vocals, Bass) went on to put over one million miles on the road with R&B big hitters such as Timmy Thomas ("Why Can't We Live Together"), Little Beaver ("Party Down"), Gwen McCrae ("Rockin' Chair") and later toured and recorded six albums with the Jimmy Castor Bunch. Still an accomplished bassist and vocalist, he continues to perform with jazz and R&B artist Rob Mullins. Ben Schultz (Guitar) went on to do live and studio work for Buddy Miles, Belinda Carlisle, Stephen Stills, Diana Ross, Ric Ocasek, Ricky Nelson, and Rod Stewart, among others. More recently, Schultz was a co-founder of the power group, Barefoot Servants (now on extended hiatus). Chris Luhn (Drums) went on to finish college and, later, law school. He is now a personal injury and divorce trial lawyer in Albany, NY." -wiki Ben Schultz - lead and rhythm guitars, vocal Paul Forney - lead vocal, bass Chris Luhn - drums

Saw them live in Clearwater twice...when i was a kid...I was wondering when i saw this , if it was the same band ...they were a top bill, but were out of the area soon after...i guess they did a tour, or hit the circuit...also in that era was BOOT (split ends) Unicorn & Pink Anacin...to name a few other locals in this vein ...also I think the Tropics got heavy/progressive by late 60's early 70's...some form of them opened for Hendrix at Curtis Hixon Hall, 69? I was at that show, but was only 14, can't remember who they said it was, although it was a local band ...all progressive rock, with electric violin...I had never seen a live show like that...what a night...Another great band that use to play at the Electric Zoo was Child, out of NYC...wall of sound for those days...B3 blue eye psych / soul...with a ripping guitar & vocalist

@@peach495 Those folks were/are well known in black r''n'b of the 70s. Jimmy Castor Bunch had a big hit with "Troglodyte" from which comes the famous sample "We gonna go back, way back, back into time..."

I am 62 now and so glad that some of the HIP HOP ARTISTS are enjoying are music. I still like to checkout some of the new groups. A lot of AWESOME groups to pick from now. . Thanks again

We (Wizard) stayed with Third Power while playing several shows with them in 1970 and, later, at the Goose Lake festival in August. Chris Luhn - Drummer for Wizard
Formed at the University of South Florida in 1970...somehow got a spot at The Goose Lake Festival (Near Ann Arbor - the same gig that bassist Dave Alexander of The Stooges played his last show at) and, making a favourable impression on a Decca Records scout who took the band into an Atlanta studio where they recorded this gem...released on the almost insultingly named PEON RECORDS in 1971
I have been trying to hear this album, ever since I heard Freedom. Now that I have heard it in it's entirely, I can honestly say that this may be one of the greatest bands of all time.

Sorry to find out Wizard only did one Album - reminds me of Steppenwolf - Thanks🌬️🌈✌️
what a beauty ... you need to listen
I'm off to see the Wizard. The wonderful Wizard of Tampa. Great album on the cusp of psych and hard rock. These guys must have rocked the Florida coast with that killer fuzz. The album finishes the way it began, with that killer guitar hook. Great Gulf Coast band. The Original Wizard. How about the original Frank Cappa
I am interested in psychedelic music and Korean. Thank you for uploading your channel.
Freedom ! Great tunes. Thanks
An actually worthy reminder !!! Thanks

It’s Christmas!!!!!! Different Wizard maybe???
First track side one I thought it was Stephen Stills (who Ben Schultz jammed with) singing. Then first track side two (Killing Time) I thought it was John Kay.
Wow this is good
super
Cool!
nice sound.
Buenisima banda! Gracias Frank!! solo un disco grabaron?
Yes cool
Ageless
great jammin groove
😍🥰
sonzeiraa .
Starts off schizophrenically, progresses along unsteadily to anticlimactic interlude where nymphs are enticed by musicians to surrender up all clothing and live life of abandon with an aged satyr and on and on til.....side 'll.Psychoactive Stew. Pt.2 Interesting and often well -played, well strung, and sung like Hippie Karl Jung.
Were they a southern rock band from criteria studio or Capricorn studio recording ?
Existe uma lista de toda esta geração de discos ??
