I appreciate youtubers that don't give a shit about the algorithm and just make videos they want to make. Norovo is one, Warlockracy is another one off the top of my head. He does craft stuff for tabletop RPGs and just puts the video in the video and doesn't have half of it be ads or leading into ads

@@wesleyrussell8386 Totally agree. I also just want him to be very successful doing this kind of content/gameplay so I always just wish somehow the algorithm adapts to his niche style of video creation so he can just go viral without changing anything about what he does.

Omg this brings back so many memories. The demo only let you play as Castle too, I remember playing it again and again and dying to try out other factions.

i think there was only castle available....and only 7 days? I remember i had to buy like 8 heroes right from the start and sail to undead to win the game. Cant remember 2 enemies neither... only 1

​@@YurisSayuri I also feel like there was less time, I also remember not being able to develop the town much. I'm not sure if Dungeon was there or not, what I do remember was that you couldn't see inside other towns... Perhaps the winning condition was to capture one of the towns and Necropolis was way easier, idk

My demo was for sure with both enemies, and the time limit was one month. Only castle was available, and interestingly it had the music of the stronghold. I love this music so much, still my favorite from the whole game. I was so confused by the change of music in the final game, I exchanged the music of stronghold with castle by renaming the MP3 files.

Oh, man. I had that demo on a lended CD from a friend of that time, i was 11 or 12yo... i got in love at first sight by it's whole charm and mistery. Now i am 35yo and keep playing once in a while. But, if i am not mistaken, you only had the chance to play with Castle, and started with Sorsha.

@@Kastratore Yeeeah, Undead looked so cool. Plus, they rushed you with their boats every time you left the island. I liked going to the snow island and reclaim the mines... how nice memories :`)

God, I played this SO MANY TIMES as a kid. Loved it to bits, even if I had no idea how some of the mechanics worked. Took me a while to realise that populations reset one day 1 rather than semi-randomly as 10 year old me thought at first. Although the Mac Demo didn't have the time limit, oddly enough.

I'm very happy for the HD version I didn't know that the game had two more expansions so that just shows you how little I know about the game. Me and a buddy did play this game when it first came out not demo version but probably early nineties.

I've been playing for 25 years and I also play on easy whenever possible :p I just want to build a castle and have huge stacks I don't want to memorize enemy AI and spawn rates and resource locations

Glad we got some more HoMM3 playthroughs. As much as I like HoMM2, 3 is just the bees knees.

The only times I won this map in the demo, was when I had expert water magic with Loynis or expert air with Cyra. I thought that the player fraction was fixed to Castle in the demo, at least that was the only fraction I played. I don't think I have played this map since they released the full game.

Could you please make a video about other town like you did with dungeon? That was my favourite video type. Wih you the best on Christmas and New Year!

I really love these videos! I love seeing these playthroughs and I would love more content even if that came at the expense of being less polished! have you considered streaming, or just putting up unedited, stream of consciousness style plays? Also, I see you tend to neglect re-claiming mines (such as the goldmine in this video) is there a tactical element to that, or just an oversight? (it's impossible to keep track of everything, but I think you do a great job!)

I think I'm too perfectionistic to stream/post unedited gameplay, like it would bother me if I can't cut out a stutter, but never say never. I often will skip over objects with my main hero to save movement points (a less important hero can then claim them) but sometimes it's an oversight

You know… I'd love to see you play the demo / tutorial maps for _Heroes_ and _Heroes II._ I even made a recreation of the _Heroes I_ map for _Heroes II,_ as well as a "playable from start" version of the _Heroes II_ map. 4 weeks was only in the demo, prevented players from getting to things like angels etc to leave us with some mysteries for the full game.

All the links are down and im desperate to replay it. Did you have any other maps by that creator, they were mad intricate! Big ups looking forward to more

I played the demo A LOT before I bought the actual game. I'm pretty certain the demo version of the map was a lot tougher than the "real" version.

First of all great video as always, love it. Second, if the AI knew you would “loose” because its a timed mission, before it runs out of time to get a town back, would it try and avoid you or still go aggressive to try and get a town back, i wonder.

Very good Content, keep going! I have one question, i bought the complete edition from gog and use the HD mod. Iam a bit confused which settings are the best for the mod ? Also does anybody know at which framerate it runs because in my AMD Adrenalin the game is not listed. And maybe should i get the HD Version from Steam? Because the Steam Version i could play in German since my English is not the best. Do i miss anything important if i Play the Steam Version with the mods listed in your discription, compared to the complete Version?

Thank you very much, so enjoyable to watch all those single player maps. Ascension was great too, I can only win those maps if lucky to get a grail or using Conflux on HD edition. Also, I love that you're playing fair, not using some crazy Luna firewall strategies or broken magic patterns to exploit AI's way of playing. Explanations are gold here What are your thoughts on playing those old SOD, ROE and other maps using HOTA mod? Is it more balanced and fair? I was always wondering would you do something different if you played this map using HOTA? AI is cheating a lot in SOD (grail, knows where you are on the map without exploring etc.)

I usually play pre-hota maps on SoD as they aren't designed for HotA but there are exceptions (Darwin's Prize was one if I remember correctly). In most cases I doubt it would make a major difference though

I don't really think of it as a successor as it has quite a different feel (more casual). It's definitely inspired by Heroes 3. I have another Hero's Hour vid coming out shortly :)

All for One is probably more well known but I think that's because it's the first map in the game listed alphabetically so more people played it

As someone who listens to you tube and rarely watches it is very annoying that you say "let's go for this" I would be so much better if eliminated the word this from your vocabulary and just said "let's go for the obelisk" or "let's attack the hailbirds"
