I feel like the ROTF ending of the novel would be better because showing some scenes that never appeared in the movie would let us know what happened to our heroes, and what really happened to the soldiers that survived their helicopter crash, but I guess the film ending is ok, it just needed to show the scenes that appeared in the novel and not in the movie.

This ending is great, I wish we would’ve gotten it. However, it’s missing one thing: “Give me your face!”

Its crazy how the novels based on ROTF and DOTM had better endings than the actual movies themselves. Not only are they more character accurate, but they do a better job giving fans a more satisfying conclusion rather than being rushed and confusing.

The forest fight is still one of the best fights ever

"I knew there was greatness within you, Sam" just doesn't vibe as much as "Boi, you returned for me." Aside from that the latter just sounds so memeworthy, it also indicates that at the very least, Sam's got Optimus covered when things get tough.

Definitely *_FAR_* better than the ending we actually got! If I were doing it, it’d probably go quite like this, but with some small changes - like no enemy scrotum, Jolt still being the one to power up Optimus after being given a bigger role and Devastator still fighting after losing his arm to the rail gun, only to get taken down by Optimus like the Driller. The fight then proceeds like normal, but with Optimus and the Fallen engaging in the air Dragon Ball Z style for a bit, Megatron learning that the Fallen’s promise to make him a Prime was false before losing half his face and his arm, the Fallen’s death staying like in the actual movie and Megatron looking empty at the Fallen’s death rather than horrified before leaving with Starscream. Optimus then removes Jetfire’s parts and finds the Matrix amongst the wreckage of the Harvester, placing it in his chest. From there, the film ends like normal until we get a mid-credits scene of Megatron and Starscream planning ahead with “Operation: Pillar” while the former sits on the Fallen’s throne - now his - and gathers what remains of his army, including Soundwave, Barricade and the awakening protoform army.

That ending was really a missed opportunity, we could've seen Soundwave turn into robo form and it builds suspense of what's megatrons next plan

I personally believe that the fallen is the strongest of all of the BAYFORMER villains. He’s stronger than Lockdown, Sentinel Prime, and even strong than Shatter and maybe even Scourge for that matter. I mean the dude literally has the powers of the force and can only be killed by a Prime. No one else can stop him. It just turns out that the prime who did take him out had a crap ton of training during the time in between 07 and rotf.

Scourge and Shatter aren’t part of Bayformers. They come from the Transformers reboots (which is what Rise of the Beasts is and was intended to be).

the Forest battle is the best battel in the movie and I like it when Optimus demand the fallen to give him his face

That moment when you realize that in the junior novel and storybooks Optimus is able to intercept, block and reflect a light speed attack capable of destroying stars and also teleport 💀 bro literally gets Dragon Ball zenkais

it's funny because while most of this ending is more in line with the messages and themes behind Transformers as a franchise, the "primes are born, not made" bit is missing the point so hard it could have stayed in the final movie and not felt out of place

while I like the Michael Bay transformers movies I think the biggest problem with the film's is a lack of narrative cohesion plotlines objects and characters are constantly forgotten throughout the entire series for example The Matrix of leadership and the all Spark are two of the most important religious artifacts but are ignored in aoe and tlk and characters like the twins and sideswipe are completely forgotten along with most of the named Decepticons at least even if the new movies don't do well they'll still be more consistent

​@@anthonyortiz45narratively consistent Bumblebee and Rotb are in a new universe and have not contradicted each other meanwhile the Michael Bay movies contradict each other all the time for example the transformers were supposed to have been relatively new to Earth in the 2007 film but in rotf they had been on Earth since before the formation of Egypt and in tlk they've been on Earth longer than humanity there are also smaller inconsistencies like the color of energon

I didn't know that there was a 2009 strike.

Rotf and Dotm were both robbed of good endings. However, in each ending the Fallen is depicted as weak and a coward. And barely puts up a fight, in the movie ending the Fallen fights Optimus and even gained the upper hand (for like 5 seconds) the perfect ending for the Fallen imo would be he's too strong for Optimus, even the other autobots help him but the Fallen fights all of them and even the military off. And another railgun is fired and hits the Fallen, stunning him long enough that they get the drop on him and prime finishes him off.

I’m kinda sad and disappointed that the original ending didn’t make it, cuz at least it wouldn’t be as sloppy and empty as the final ending.

kudos to foster, he managed to write a 400 page book from a 9 minute screenplay

I kinda wanna see the reboot optimus to do a epic battle like forest battle and this movie is overhated only has few problems

Honestly, I prefer the original ending because we get a lot more robot action, and it even fixes a lot of plot holes that were in the final cut of the movie.

Honestly I think a combination of the endings would be cool. Instead of dying, Jetfire decides to merge with Optimus temporarily, with his body broken but his spark still alive, and that for Ratchet to repair him from RotF to DotM. I think I would love to see Optimus face Megatron and the Fallen longer but in a 3 way battle after Megatron finds out he can't become a Prime. I really like the parts where Ironhide and Sideswipe tried to fight, where Devastator tries to throw hands with Optimus, but I wish that Depth Charge was actually the ship as in the concept art and figure, explaining why they have weaponry that strong. I think maybe Optimus should've been the one to fatality wound the Fallen, but Megatron to finish him off and step into the portal. Then Megatron and Optimus fight, Megatron loses but due to Starscream interfering, they both hit the portal and dip. Optimus gets the Matrix, has a conversation with the Primes, see Ratchet and humans fixing, then Sam and Op, and then OP and Sam get to see the Primes together, then Optimus makes his speech. Post credit you see Megatron healing and Starscream asking what now, and Megatron shows Starscream the army, with Soundwave and Shockwave appearing, and telling him, there's always another plan, more than meets the eye. Then cut.

@@kidkatanatv I still have them and they are dope! Depth charge was actually planned for being in the movie but due to Devastator and the time crunch, he didn't make it, he has concept art. In a similar case Broadside was concepted for Fall of Cybertron and in the art book you get to see his robot mode as where his alt mode was the energon carrier during when you played as Bruticus for the first time.

I do enjoy how the alternate endings definitely give better closure to some of the characters, and give the title characters some more much needed screen time. The one thing I kind of like they changed was megatron’s ending. I personally love just how prime obliterates him and seeing him in his camp in dotm is one of my favorite scenes

This feels like a common theme with this movie series

this could had also explain where all of those Decepticon Protoforms that hiding on the moon in transformers dark of the moon came from...

I wish the battle against Devastator from the Transformers RotF Wii/PS2 game was in the movie, Optimus fighting Devastator in the middle of the city is awesome and the soundtrack is pretty good, but it would probably blow up the special effects team's computers.

Imagine if they were 3 post credit scenes 2 of them are the Sam scenes that we got and the last one is the megatron one that we all wanted

I guess judging by the ending Megatron had on this version , it can be assumed that he would have had a different form in the 3rd movie judging the fact that he actually ended up in a strong position

ILM definitely bit off more than they could chew. Devastator himself blew up several of their computers.

As much as the Bay films were a giant missed opportunity, I'm glad your channel exists to explore 'what could have been' etc. Edit: I hate how much better these special effects look than the work done for Rise of the Beasts... I know it's a different company etc., but MAN this film still looks good.

Man I haven’t commented in a while but ur videos get better and better every time man I have learned so much from ur videos like this great work!

OG ending is better, but I understand that ILM had major constraints. We still need breakaway to be brought back in future movies, his design is awesome and since its a new universe it wouldn't need any explanation aside from "he's a survivor of the war on Cybertron who escaped to earth." Really, I just want a Studio Series figure, cause the original from ROTF is hard to find and expensive. Underrated character.

I never actually watched the RoTF movie myself. The only way i truly experienced a full rotf experience was through the game (the port thats on PC/PS3/Xbox. Not the PS2/Wii port). So the endings there were the endings of rotf from my pov.

While I love the ending we got. I still cannot help but this ending would have been awesome to have seen instead. It’s just one of those thoughts you can’t help but wonder👍

As good as the original ending was, it just needed more Jolt and it would be perfection.

Excellent video, personally I think Michael Bay did a great job with his saga despite the fact that there are things I don't like about his style; I just think he was unlucky after TF1. Without a doubt, to make a sequel to TLK and an end to his saga, I want him as the director; if he is the one who started and carried everything to the "end", he is the one who must finish everything.

Theorymus Prime, I knew about this original ending even before you made this video, and I can safely say that it's way better than the one we got. My favorite variation of the original ending is definitely the one present in the novelization. One detail you glossed over, is that the ROTF junior novel, 'The Last Prime', 'I Am Optimus Prime' storybook and the ROTF Scholastic book, are targeted for children, so the changes were deliberate to tone down the film's violence for young readers. You also glossed over the ending present in the ROTF game for java mobile devices. In it, the final boss is Megatron and you fight him as Jet Power Optimus Prime. Upon defeating Megatron, Optimus uses the power of the Matrix of Leadership to kill The Fallen and destroy the Star Harvester, and the Autobots and NEST celebrate their lastest victory. It then cuts to Megatron commenting on how his master's title fits his fate and that underestimating Optimus was The Fallen's worst mistake. Now as supreme leader of all Decepticons, Megatron promises not to make the same mistake as he makes preparations for his final endgame (AKA the events of DOTM). When you first revealed tht you would make this video, I thought you would only talk about the endings of the novelization and comic book adaptation, as you never talked about the variations of the original DOTM ending present in it's other adaptation materials on your video about the leak that caused the film's ending to be changed, which is why I planning on making a comment on tht video showing the variations of the DOTM original ending present of the other adaptation materials as an addendum. 2 films had their original ending explained, so only the 2007 film remaind to get that treatment. This was would have been a Really Great Alternative Ending. I was Fine with Optimus Prime Battling Megatronus Prime/The Fallen and Megatron I still think that’s still one of The Coolest Fights in The Transformers Film Series. If there’s one thing I Would love to see the most is That Post Credit Scene with Megatron on The Nemesis. Hey Theorymus one thing I noticed is when the teleport & knocking everybody over you see the bottom left corner one of the soldiers gets decapitated 😳

Ngl i actually prefer the film ending. It just feels more condensed and less messy, as i think this ending would be too long and clunky on film. Plus the 'primes are born not made' line always felt very un-optimus and just against a whole lot of previous tf media.

I remember seeing in the special features disc about the ending about megatron commanding his new army! Man I wish it was put into the movie ☹️

When you see all the stuff that was supposed to be in Revenge of the Fallen it’s sad we could have seen way more stuff like a water battle when the Fallen first lands and destroys the carrier he was supposed to fight a group of autobots that were cut entirely from the film and story and there was supposed to be like at least 30 autobots in the movie

Well after watching this, I now have gotten a better appreciation for this ending. I'll have to figure out how it will work, but we'll see.

I think in the PS2 version Optimus actually just dropped The Fallen into the Harvester. The Star Harvester wouldn’t explode like that if Optimus simply killed the Fallen on the other side of the portal.

One thing I find interesting is despite the fucking mess this movie ended up being, Sam (during his Einstein is wrong rant) says something about the “sentinel prime program”

I remember in the PS2 game of transformers 2 U fought as prime against the fallen on top the pyramid and there were a bunch of portals but as you're about to beat him Megatron appeared and the Fallen commanded him to help him fight Prime but he demanded that the fallen make him a prime firstly but when he realize he was lied to megatron attacked prime out of rage and got his ass beaten then Prime came back to the top of the harvester and pushed the fallen into the giant beam of energy

I hope we get a re-release with the real and true ending especially with the extra screen time on the robots Paramount please make it happen
