bruh the things the little girl’s asking for isn’t even wild like “let me go out all the time” or “give me a new phone whenever a new one comes out.” it’s literally “show me love the way you do to my older brother” and “help me improve my grades.” for god’s sake, her final wish was “let me go home after school.” the mom brushing her off and laughing any time they raised a valid point made me want to scream

This happened about 3 years ago. I wonder how she's doing and if her mother actually changed.

When all the hosts and guests are so upset with the young girl's mother, I can feel them so much that I was also annoyed and complaining while watching the video. Taejoon and Roy are me at this very moment. I hope the young girl's life is a lot better now.

That mother's reactions every time her daughter speaks is atrocious.... laughing like it's no big deal. She reminds me of my mom. While I wasn't forced to work, my mother acted (and still acts) like I would not amount to anything no matter what I did/do. She wasn't convinced I would graduate college and was blunt about it. When I graduated and with a very high GPA, all she said was "Oh, that's nice." Artwork that won an award? "Oh, that's nice." My mother hasn't changed and is still this way. I don't see this girl's mother changing any time soon either unless there was a major intervention on top of them being on the show.

My mood is the MC's constantly looking like they want to punch the mom.

Natalie Tran yeah mum isnt as bad now (full disclosure, she has bipolar and the medication she was on didnt really help that much. It's been A LOT better since she's changed it.) But i can totally understand. I wouldnt say she was as bad as to control who my friends were (although she tended to like most of them. I was the "good" girl lol) but she would only let me go to a friends house if she had organised it with their parents (im talking still in my late teens) and i wasnt allowed anywhere without an adult until i was 18... Tbh i can deal with all that. It's just when i try so much and put up with a lot, and i do it because i love her, and then she goes and questions that? Im quick to feel guilt by nature so it makes me feel like i havent done enough, but i feel angry as well because of the situations she says that... Hope it gets/has gotten better for you. it made me so mad when she laughed when her daughter said something. it is her daughters life not hers and parents that think that they need to control their childs life are not fit to be parents. some parents say that they will decide what their child does until they move out and that is just selfish, they are mostly making their child live out the life that they could not.

Taejon's words hit it the most. The mother is abusing her childhood. The girl just keeps her grudge developed day by day towards her mother. I won't be surprised if when she gets to become adult, she won't care about her mother and is probably gonna abandon her

Seeing this mother discriminate between son and daughter just made me remember all the other girls I've met in my life who were denied an education because the precious son deserves it more. Agreed. I got so angry at the double standard myself and applaud the male MCs for asking certainly pointed questions at the mom and the one guy (Taejoon I think) for stepping in. The other male MC who pointed out the whole "my son" vs. "my daughter" thing. I also think the mom was in shock because she wasn't aware of how her decisions or opinions of how her daughter is treated by her was actually hurting her child.

I don't wanna call it Sexism because that has a Western image that is much more than the situation here, but in general, it is Sexism, it used to be practical as Men had more benefits since they worked harder for the family while Women had to take care of babies because they had better skills at it and therefore were protected at all costs, but we are not in the primitive era anymore and this standard is damn stupid, yes this situation could happen in any couple, but the reverse could definitely be a thing now, in many korean families the women even makes more money and is more well-off than the man! Yet she is treated as if that was not the case. Thankfully nowadays these stupid old complications are being lessened as people and families are starting to realize that it isn't moral to determine the female child's life when She could be better than any man out there at work, it is simply stupid to put women into lower situations when they are at A deserving stage just because that's how it was. It seems that Her dad may see that the mom is being immoral and if that was the case I hope for the family to realize that Her daughter has a very-high want for what She needs and letting Her take the risks that the mother wants to completely-suppress because Her mother distrusts Her is what makes Her become a better person by learning, and you'd imagine that any opportunity She is given to do what She wants to become A producer that She will be determined and not slack off unlike How the mother sees the likely chance of being.

Tbh her whole family isn't helpful and supportive from what I see, she seems to work so hard and could become something but her family push her down and don't seem to care and care more about themselves than give a damn about her which is disgusting, they better fix their ways because she needs support especially at this age. I feel so bad for her and hope she reaches her goals and dreams because she deserves it. It baffles me how a mother treats her own child like that, you're supposed to praise your children and boost their confidence not tell her she's ugly and bring it down, and you're supposed to put their need, their health and their aspirations before yours yet she makes her work, doesn't give her time to study or spend time with friends or even rest, her daughter will slowly become sick due to stress or being overworked, and the mother laughs at everything and has an excuse. Its just shocking tbh

What’s sad about this is that when the girl gets older and chats with her friends, they’ve be like “ya and remember the other day when we did this when we were younger” (basically talking about their childhood) While she’d be quite cuz her mom didn’t let her have fun and do all these fun things. The only memory she’ll have of her childhood is her working at the salon and cleaning. My point is that when she grows up she’ll get upset every time she thinks or reads or hears anything about childhood Cuz she didn’t get a good one😢

The way the mom scoffs when she said "her life"... Damn. And listening that the father & the brothers dont want to come and told her it's "her problem". I feel sorry for her. The whole family needs to be there. I hope someone from the family, the grandma probably, reach out to help her. I dont know, I dont think the mother/family will change... so sad. I kinda salute the MCs being able to hold their emotion, if it were me I would lash out and yell at the mother.. BUT I also hope the MCs be more serious (?)
