RIP Matthew Perry your wit and humour and sarcasm on this show got me through the loss of my wife in 2017 as I binged on Friends, you and the cast brought a lot of joy to this Aussie so now my condolences to your family and friends RIP Matthew.

The opening scene of the first season of this series, and it's already filled with such quotable jokes. You just know the rest of the ride's going to be epic and nothing short of fun.

0:02 - Monica’s First Line: There’s nothing to tell. He’s just some guy I work with. 0:05 - Joey’s First Line: Come on, you’re going out with the guy. There’s gotta be something wrong with him. 0:11 - Chandler’s First Line: So does he have a hump? A hump and a hairpiece? 0:15 - Phoebe’s First Line: Wait, does he eat chalk? Just ‘cause, I don’t want her to go through what I went through with Carl-- Oh! 1:08 - Ross’ First Line: Hi. 2:48 - Rachel’s First Line: Oh, God, Monica hi! Thank God! I just went to your building and you weren’t there and then this guy with a big hammer said you might be here and you are, you are.

Kudrow aged a lot. They were using a lot of cover - up around her eyes,but she still had bags . Kudrow is six years older than Aniston and Perry . They also used waaay too many chemicals on hair in this show.

Ross’s wife just left him for a woman and Rachel dumped Barry at the alter. In episode 1 Ross & Rachel were set up for each other and it took 10 YEARS and a DAUGHTER to end up together.

Not me. I don't remember exactly, but chances are that I thought that Roseanne would be the last good sitcom. (Yeah, I know Seinfeld was around, but a show about nothing, with some stand-up act inbetween breaking any tension, did not seem memorable to me).

Also: twin-tails Phoebe is best Phoebe.

That was one dramatic entrance of Rachel Green in a wedding gown. Am pretty sure the moment Ross saw her he was already in love. Until now 2024 I am still watching the re-runs of this show.

I just realized after all these years that the waitress that asks Rachel can I get you some coffee also played Denise in Season 3 during the we were on a break who told Gunther about Ross sleeping with Chloe from the copy shop.

Gunther is first seen in the next episode, if I remember correctly. He was just an uncredited extra back then though.

This must have been filmed in 1993 for it to be premiered in 1994. It still has a little bit of late 80's atmosphere.

I would of loved loved to of been there for one of the tapping of friends especially the first epsiodebut I live in England and when this premiered I was only 4 years old lol. It was lovely growing up with it and it ending when I was 14. Big Bang theory kinda took over a few years later but as much as I loved that show it didnt really have the warmth (especially in the last few seasons) that friends had 🙂 x

There is one problem, why Rachel doesn't know Chandler at this time. The timeline of Rachel and Chandler isn't correct over the ten seasons.

It’s called anachronism It’s just really hard to perfectly plan a whole series, especially 10 seasons. When they wrote this scene, they probably hadn’t planned the scenes where Rachel would have met Chandler in the past (who knows, maybe they hadn’t actually planned to go that far)
