What I love about it is that different activities are going on at different parts of the Palace. Makes you know it is an institution. Amazing!

Nice, I learned that traditionally the Ooni now is referred to as the Regent Custodian of the Palace ( Adimula) not as the formal head of kings but as a partially ceremonial one so as to make sure there is no unilateral autocracy among the Yorubas but a Check and Balance System to reduce total corruption which made Oyo Empire great before personal greediness and other individual weaknesses weakened the government against outside forces. Modern societies are repeating the same blunders spiritually, economically, and "whateverly" .

Not true. Adimula was Oduduwa’s title. It means, one who you hold to be saved. A di mu la. Olofin Adimula is the full title.

The story told about Moremi in this video is incorrect. First of all, Moremi is from Offa, Kwara state not Ile-Ife. Oluorogbo, her son is a prince of Alaafin of Oyo. The current Alaafin then was Moremi’s first husband. Ugbo king was her second husband. The ugbo was the tribe terrorizing Ile-Ife then (they speak Yoruba too). Ife belonged to Ugbo before Oduduwa chased them away and seized their land. Note, I wasn’t there but that’s the real story I heard, watched and read from different sources

There is some Brazilian organization that works hand in hand with the Ooni. You can contact them for access. You can also go alone but is better to be connected to local people or organizations that will take you around in ile ife. Anyone can access the palace and I think they will give you an audience if they know you are from brazil seeking to know more about the origin. You have to give the man a tip and you can ask the owner of this page to suggest how much so that you won't over tip them.
