Those who dislike P..D.Q. Bach's music are, in the words of the noted musicologist Bugs Bunny, are music haters.

The tuba player taught at my high school for a while. Very entertaining guy and a very good player.

Someone desperately needs to write a concerto for gong and xylophone.

Was joking around with my friend (plays tuba) that we could do a duet with me (plays violin), little do I know that there actually is one

Actually there are a few pieces for it, if you search on here. What surprises me is that the tuba doesn't completely overpower the violin, because their frequency ranges are totally differrent.

There used to be a trio (back in the dark ages) when I was in college, called Tequila Mockingbird. Tuba, violin and marimba - the best and worst of all worlds. They toured the small college circuit. Anybody ever hear of them?

Euphonium, not a tuba. I love JS Bach's music, but still find PDQ Bach's music delightful, funny and refreshing. Phooey on those who don't.

Eu phoni ... Um, ... Tu ba, or NOT Tu ba, THAT is the ... Er ... is human. To forgive them, for they're not quite sure what they're doing. But on the PdQT, they'll figure it out, brave souls that they are.

The name of the piece is _The Only Piece Ever Written for Violin and Tuba_ (the video title added "I've" for some reason). Also the euphonium is in the tuba family, so that may be a euphonium, but that doesn't mean it's not a tuba.

Okay, so how many PDQ Bach pieces have I heard where someone plays the octaves: lowE highE highD lowD lowC highC highB lowB? (Possibly shifted)

To get the opening gag you have to know violins tune to A - tubas tune to Bb

The camera placement after the second movement is unfortunate. You can’t see what’s happening behind the tuba player, and that’s where the action is.
