Rosie’s clue bag has always been empty. Does she think all 8 year olds whose primary language is not englsh, should understand awkwardly worded questions and statements? Angelina handled them with such grace and dignity and then gives that extra degree of warmth by rubbing Rosie’s shoulder as she hugged her. I love this human being!

I am really enjoying your progress through Angelina's music catalog. I tried to tell you about this one, it's special. Since you prerecorded all these I can't guide you but you will get there and end up feeling as we do very soon now. Enjoy the journey because it keeps getting better, and better, and better....

You will start to notice the Elvis is coming out. She will continue with the lip curl for many many years to come. Also the side singing she will use for proper tone effect and some flare.

Not even a hint of nerves. She was born as if a grown, fully developed artist/person. It’s miraculous and beautiful to watch.❤❤❤

Have to believe Angelina was more interested in hugging Rosie, than the stuffed toys. Her empathy is endless.

As a jazz singer, Jordan never sings a song the same way twice live.

Most people would be mortified to have a viewing audience (including national TV) laugh at a response we made. Eight year old Angelina thought nothing of it and laughed right along with them. She was, and still is, very comfortable with who she is.

​​No, the response to your undue attention to this was the OVER-emphasis. no need to go on and on, right?

You will come to find that when Angelina is on TV, she steps it up to another level. So much of Angelina on YT is her jamming, I even think her early concerts are her mostly jamming with bands whom she's had minimal rehearsals. But put her on National TV & she is all business. Watch her behind the scenes rehearsal for the Grand Finale at the end of AGT-Champions, when she sings Someone You Love. Then watch the TV performance, which is only a few hours later & she is at a whole different level.

Great reaction Aaron. She never ceases to amaze all of us and that's why we love her so much.

Another great reaction Aaron! No other reactor that i recall noticed the sideways jaw sliding. She ALSO did it just before she came to the US and just after she won NGT, singing What a Difference a Day Makes. It reminds me so much of : Sammy Davis Jr. , who was at least partly jazz influenced .

You see why we are so intrigued by her. Her uniqueness of mixing varies legends all in one song. The thought and understanding of what she is doing is not expected of an 8 year old.

We have witnessed the development of Angelina from this adorable little girl to now a gorgeous young lady that she is now. I wonder if her obvious love for Fly me to the moon has anything to do with her grandpa telling her she will never be alone because he will always be keeping an eye on her from the moon.❤❤❤❤👣

I too thought she was navigating her budding teeth when I first saw her shaping her mouth like that. She’s been doing this since NGT. Ditto the Elvis lip curl she sometimes does. I don’t think she’s trying to imitate. I don’t think it’s a conscious process. I Think she found through practice it was what worked best for the sound she’s after. She’s just a genius working at her craft. She does whatever is necessary to achieve her vocal goal. She still does both to this day.

Wait until you hear the performance audio layed over the rehearsal video with the ensamble that played at Quincy Jones 85th birthday celebration at O2 Arena in London, she reset the standard as to what FMTTM will be judged for years to come. It is outstanding!

This my favourite Fly Me to the Moon. Some of that phrasing is just exquisite. I'm so glad you got to hear it. And that still you caught of Angelina at 8:24 is delightful. It's almost like you can see the diva that is waiting inside for the little body to grow up.

Yes I was waiting. It's the Best one! Of all of Angelina's performances of this song this is my favorite. We will never hear it like this again. Her phrasing and the way she twists her mouth to produce the voice she wants is adorable as well as effective. Angelina has performed this song dozens of times and you won't find all of them on that data base I can almost guarantee. Every time she has performed it she has done it differently. All of them top notch. This one hits me like no other. 😊♥👣

Great insight brother. I cannot wait until you hear Angelina perform live at 10 years old. My all time favorite era, 11 is great too

On those very few moments IN HER CAREER (2?, 3?) when she wasn't perfect she glided right by the moments and never brought attention to them and her audience stayed in her world as the song continued. Example: In this case, she covered the interruption so well, many listeners assumed she did it on purpose. I believe you got a good dose of her genius in this video. And, btw, she never met a camera she didn't like. She sings right through it directly to each one of us. There is a video of her preparation to go on this Show. She was there for hours and they did one (or two?) rehearsals. Always in the presence of her mom and grandma, she has always been very patient will all that goes on prior to each event. And all of this packed into an eight year old girl. This was her first official exposure to the American audience and it meant a lot to her.

As I recall, she practiced with the guitarist - at least three or four takes - until he got Angelina's preferred tempo down. Then there were several rehearsals on stage with no audience, adjusting the sound levels and video angles. So the final performance was take 8 or 9. The famous one rehearsal was when Rosie said "Hello everybody, I'm here with eight year old Angelina Jordan", turning to Angelina and asking "How old are you, honey?"

Yes, this is her first USA appearance, so excited to be in New York! At this early stage there were so many influences that she was working with, to develop that unique Angelina Jordan sound. Angelina had to go quite a few rehearsals before this live performance, all the other versions had a perfect ending, just that one little hiccup, as you said, she is a true professional, not flustered at all, the show must go on! (By the way she sang the Queen song at the age 12/13, she could easily have done a duet with Freddie, two great artists in unison...)

Thank you Aron there can never be enough Angelina , she is so calm and poised and already mesmerising, becomes addictive and then it's too late you love her like your own ,it can't be overstated how much joy she is to discover and follow , now she has hints of all the greatest singers over the last 100 years blended and Angelinarised to create something never experienced before and she is only beginning . 💜💜💜👣

There are a few songs where younger Angelina emulates a singer. (Her studio cover, at 11, of Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” is an example where she’s actively channeling her musical muse-and it’s impossible to describe how great she is. It’s stunning.) But most of the time, like today’s song, she shows influences of many of the greats, but you get-Angelina. Her style changes with her mood and of course with the genre, but you know it’s Angelina immediately. I agree with most of your reactions, but I don’t hear as much Amy as you do. And I have no inside information, but I think very young Angelina was listening to Ella and Billie and Etta, etc., rather than Amy.

Angelina is a huge fan of Amy Winehouse and I think she really enjoys letting her inner Amy come out to play. Angelina has said that she sees it as a compliment to be compared to Amy Winehouse.

I saw the rehearsal and production of these beautiful performances at her patreon Channel. She sang along several times more than two times with the guitar player in the same quality. Maybe the close up views were a part of this. You didn't see the camera with the audience at this last part. She had so much fun with this View. That's why she answered the view 😅

I am enjoying this analysis of her progression from a trained /experienced ear. I listened to her voice/singing being molded over time and now I get a detailed view of it. Seeing many advance through dance, sports, and musically--I have never witnessed anyone come close to her speed and consistency of development. It is so far beyond anyone else she is in a category with one member--her. As I have stated before, this is nothing compared to when she hits the age of ten. Make sure you do her version of "I Put a Spell On You" at ten. I think it is "Little Big Shots" in Germany. If you use the full version do not do the pre and post show as the host sucks and it is really stupid. PS: I think she does a lot of it in tenor and you will be fascinated in this changed version. I think she did it to protect her voice as she has never done the original version again. Hearing that deep smooth voice come out of a tiny little girl--no words. Thanks again for spending your time on Angelina as there are many that greatly appreciate it.

If you watch this closely you will notice that the guitarist missed a beat on the turnaround to the second verse and Angelina syncopated right back into the pocket without blinking an eye. What a pro.❤

As you can see, AJ never sings a song the same way she did before, it varies mainly according to his mood, but he will always give his best.

The way she manipulates her mouth is her way to make the sounds she wanted before her voice was developed, over the ensuing 5 years her voice was developing and she was able to make all those sounds without that manipulation, and now her artistry is fully developed, she can sound ant way she wants to suit her artistry.

She is a chameleon

I feel you should take mini detours and jump ahead occasionally to hear something more current. Even if it’s listening to another rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, to see glimpses of what the future holds relative to what you are experiencing now.

You say "she beat herself up" because of the flaw att the end... I think to Angelina that means she spent an extra hour practicing each day until she could nail it. At the age of 11 she mentioned that she spent about 5h hours a day, 7 days a week with focused singing exercises and of top of that she's just singing whenever she feels a song comming. There's a video on her grandma's yt channel where the family is visiting Christ the Redeemer in Rio, Brazil, (I think at age 10) and Angelina spontaneously starts singing _Fly Me To The Moon_ taking no notice of people walking by and a guide shouting in a megaphone. I'll go find the link....

Thanks. I will think about it but at this point, I'm in it for the long haul and more interested in creating something that fans could leverage for years to come. I almost feel like I'm working as a service to the great Angelina and this is my way to pay homage to her and her fans. I may follow your suggestion but don't be surprised if I keep going along as I am. That said, I've literally been dropping a performance a day. So I'll be into her teenage years in a few months I believe. Either way, I value you and your opinion more than you know and will definitely consider it. When I decided to take this journey the way I am, I knew what I signed up for and knew it would be a challenge just to do and knew also i would be frustrating some folks along the way. We'll see..thank you

Thank you. Actually, up to this point, with very few exceptions, she has completely emulated other singers so it's a huge development to see her beginning to have her own sound for the first time. Very exciting and definitely worth commenting on :) I'm not intent on you hearing any way. I'm sharing what I hear, see, and interpret. I'm very sorry if that offends you. I am well aware English is not her first language. The small comment that was very quick in this reaction about "moon" had nothing to do with her language understanding or speaking. It has more to do with vocal sounds, muscle placement, etc. and many vocal coaches often talk about the pronunciation of words, especially changing vowels different ways depending on pitch, volume, tambre, etc so I don't feel this was out of place in any way, shape or form. Regardless, I appreciate you and you speaking your mind!
