The same reason they know Pluto isn't a planet. They just called it something other than a cloud.

If this galaxy is one of the oldest we have found. Wouldn't that mean we are looking at it while its still very young and its not actually billions of years old? (like how if we are looking at a star 5000 light years away, we see what was happening 5000 years ago)

1:25 says galaxy is located 270 million light years from earth, suggesting it has aged billions of years but we are observing it in a 'relatively' recent state

It's interesting because we have found galaxies over 13 billion away. And it had claimed oldest and most primitive. I guess i missed that.​ Thanks for the info. @Pauser71

In the beginning there was light (energies, particles, gases etc.) and then everything came into being! We knew this wisdom already thousands of years ago! A bit strange, isn't it? I am personally convinced that after the end of the previous universe's existence, our current, (still baby) universe was formed within a protective plasma supported by a large quasar group (black holes)...

There are estimated 100 billions of galaxies out there. But now much more are to consider. Like these newly discovered empty star galaxies. This one happens to be in the Milky Way neighborhood: at 270 million light years away they're at just 2% the distance from the Big Bang.

I've actually been to that observatory in West Virginia! It's so large and that place is awesome!

It's weird to watch a NASA channel mispronounce words like quasar and pulsar 😂

How can you tell it is one of the oldest? It's relatively quite near us, so we do not know how it looked like a bilion years ago

Is there black hole at the centre?

There's a good chance that all the missing matter in the universe is not missing we just can't see it because there are no stars there. Imagine something like a Solar System except instead of a sun it's an ice giant Or a Jupiter like planet with other gas giants revolving around it Maybe a couple stones mixed in. and some space dust

"Dark matter" constitutes more than 90% of the matter that makes up everything. Pretty hard not to spot such gaseous formations for such a long time, considering they'd literally be 10 times more abundant than the visible stuff. Just imagine the noise produced by such a large amount of matter. Additionally, the universe is apparently accelerating, which would confirm the presence of "dark energy", produced of course by "dark matter". This would reconcile with Einstein's concept of gravity in his theory, which allows it to be both attractive (the one we experience) and repulsive (the one responsible for the accelerating universe).

Maybe, but dark matter isn't supposed to have any EM interactions, only gravitational interactions.

It's good that we see those from bing bang and we don't see at least one new star that would be part of the present! Like this or Andromeda riding on us, it just had to collide with us already!

It is just gas without a black hole. Perhaps only dark matter.

1 - You say a galaxy has been discovered that not even our most powerful telescopes can see. 2 - You list the telescopes that can see the galaxy. 3 - Quasar is pronounced "quay-zar," not "qwa-zar." 4 - Pulsar is pronounced "pul-sar," not "pul-ser."

I guess I don't know the difference between a gas cloud, nebula, and galaxy...

The obvious evidence is that this Galaxy was made at the same time as ALL of the universe.
