First, let me say: this is extraordinary. World class. Second, I got hung up researching the image at 53:33 of Dustmaker, the Ponca Indian. You happened upon an image from a large collection that has been lauded by modern historians and anthropologists and the first of its kind. Here's some background: (From Wikipedia)Frank Albert Rinehart (1861-1928) was an American artist famous for his photography capturing Native American personalities and scenes, especially portrait settings of leaders and members of the delegations who attended the 1898 Indian Congress in Omaha. ... In 1898, and in occasion of the Indian Congress held in conjunction with the Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition, Rinehart was commissioned to photograph the event and the Native American personalities who attended it.[1] Together with his assistant Adolph Muhr (who would later be employed by the famous photographer Edward S. Curtis), they produced what is now considered "one of the best photographic documentations of Indian leaders at the turn of the century".[2] Tom Southall, former photograph curator at the University of Kansas' Spencer Art Museum, said of the Rinehart collection: The dramatic beauty of these portraits is especially impressive as a departure from earlier, less sensitive photographs of Native Americans. Instead of being detached, ethnographic records, the Rinehart photographs are portraits of individuals with an emphasis on strength of expression. This isn't a book, it's a piece of art. I could feel every bit of the work you did, being a paper crafter myself, and dear gods woman, your labor of love has paid off. .....a trembling hand unlocks a dusty glass specimen cabinet, moves aside the brass microsope...the glass slides covered in old stains are carefully removed. Slowly, he approaches the non-descript cardboard box covered in stains and labels bearing the evidence of a lifetime of travel.....his heart flutters, his hand hesitates as stoops to reveal its contents.for here lies the book he has slowly curated over decades. Gently he lifts the lid, Fur Elise ehoes in his mind.. his student days in Germany....camphor, leather, cloves and acid drift faintly into his nostrils. His mind whirls through time...Africa, the Mystical East, dark European cities...the interface between science, magic, and myth. Mysticism, reality, experimentation...a lifetime of searching. Learning.....posing questions and now is the time to write. He must commit it all, preserve the secrets long buried in the recesses of his memory. The book is a worthy repository. He opens the box takes out the clock, turns the dial and drifts....the pen begins to scratch and the sunlight dances on the rust and gold. This is truly a magical piece of craftsmanship. An artwork that transcends a mere "book" and creates an intimate imaginary world in a tangible form. It challenges our senses our intellect and encourages us to enter a tantalising world created by the artist. That is what makes it so stunning....it makes anything possible.....

As I read your comment describing a scene from another point in time, I saw in my mind’s eye every detail. I could smell the dusty surrounding that would have been present in such a scenario. Holy cow! I’m relatively new to this craft, and have made only half a dozen journals. I’ve learned so much from various maker’s tutorials and have made coffee, tea, onion skin, and avocado dyed papers. I have purchased more ephemera, inks, oxides, stamps, dies, paper, backgrounds, etc., and find myself overwhelmed with where to go and what to do with it all. I have tons of beads and jewelry making materials as that was my first love just before and after retirement when I found my fingers could no longer manage working with the tiny beads for jewelry and bead embroidery. So I found myself being drawn into the junk journaling craft and I just love it. However, as I said I struggle with making my journals cohesive and interesting. What you have done here is mind blowing and absolutely gorgeous. I’m sure, since this video is now 6-7 years old, that your journal sold in milliseconds. I have no way of knowing what you charged for it, the materials alone would add up to a significant sum plus the hours-days-weeks-months of hard work planning and assembly, but I hope it was a very substantial amount. I know what I would have been willing to pay! Congratulations on the most spectacular project I’ve seen yet after having watched hundreds of videos on this craft. Best wishes.

Hey there, such kind words thankyou! Well, I don't enjoy asking for large sum of money but for this to be sustainable, yes I do have to charge a lot. Projects like this equate to months of work so the price has to reflect. It was one of my bigger projects. I appreciate your comments, thankyou and wish you a happy crafting journey too x

This book is in a class all its own!!...it is like an actual "physical form" of what you try to explain to a child when trying to describe that when you read a book You travel on an adventure that takes you to wonderful places where you get lost in the story!!! It is just wonderful Jibid how incredibly creative and artistic you are ...God has truly blessed you with a brilliant mind!
