The Okavango Delta, Moremi, Khwai, Savuti and Chobe! ROAM Overlanding
The Dads and Lads Have done it again! Our Overlanding Trip across the Okavango delta and into the Chobe, was a sensational once in a life time experience! We camped in truly wild campsites interacting with animals and people in a way that only Botswana can offer! We put our vehicles to the test, seeing the Hilux's and the Landcruiser 79 series in their element out in the bush was something epic! From Hippo attacks, to Helicopter flights, Tiger fishing on the Chobe river and sharing our campsite with an elephant, we really experienced it all! Botswana is a varied and extremely wonderful travel destination, the people as well as the landscapes are as beautiful as one another. We continued our journey to Muchenje and onwards to Kasane, we used the time to relax and get ourselves back to reality and back to our normal lives! This experience was a lot to absorb and hopefully this video will help wrap it all up!

Do you ever find it totally mad that you go out to these places, create your video upload it, and someone comes home from work in Hong Kong, sees you uploaded, sits down in his lounge and puts what your create on a big TV instead of Netflix... Crazy world we live in. As always, loving the content 👍

Wonderful videos! Random question: where can I buy the square pots and pans, so easy to clean and so convenient to pack
Hi Adrian. Awesome content. Few questions, Are the Hilux body panels really as soft as some other youtubers say? How does the Hilux compare to the 79 ? Thanks again for the great programmes,
@RoamOverlanding
Жыл бұрын
I can’t tell you when or if the body panel thickness of the Hilux have ever been important to me out on these trips 😂 I mean insurance just replaces the parts anyways if you damage them.
Who did the cruiser tray and redarc setup in south africa? I'm planning similar trip with my old KB300 Isuzu.
@RoamOverlanding
Жыл бұрын
The cruiser canopy and drawersystem is done by BushTech Aluminium Canopies 👏🏻 the Redarc system was done by Roelf and G’s Auto Electrical
Thank you for sharing your amazing journeys. Cant believe the cruiser got better fuel consumption than both hilux's how is that possible?
@RoamOverlanding
Жыл бұрын
Good question! No replacement for displacement! Also it’s manual vs the two auto vehicles; there is a lot of power loss through the torque converter in the thick sand; but the hiluxes drive easier and more relaxed in the sand too. The vehicles are all very heavy as well for these types of remote trips and that’s where they big v8 just doesn’t have to work as hard as say my 2.4l
Are there any modifications done to your vehicles? Exhaust systems? Mapping?
@RoamOverlanding
Жыл бұрын
All three vehicles have exhausts and my Hilux and the cruiser are remapped
How did the fuel consumption compare between the vehicles over the whole trip?
@RoamOverlanding
Жыл бұрын
We mentioned the figures in the video 👍🏻 but the cruiser won offroad and the 2.8hilix won on road

First!!!
How would you rate the hilux against the cruiser? Comfort and capability?
@RoamOverlanding
Жыл бұрын
The Hilux is more comfortable and just as capable. 👍🏻 it’s a much better all rounder. It might just be a bit boring for some people. They’re also cheaper to run and maintain when you get home, so all in all a great investment for this type of travel.
