Man I love your "I'm a grown man playing with foam flinging things and enjoy every minute of it" energy. I'm in my late 40s and came into foam flinging over the pandemic as videos like this kept dropping in my feed. Stay young Capt. 👍🏾
If i recall correctly, Boomstick ran one of these at a local war i attended recently with the shotgun cylinder to shockingly high success. Absolutely beautiful designm
Thanks for the review. I love my Boom Dozer, I don't see this replacing it any time soon. I would love to see a Pancor Jackhammer chambered in Mega XL, that would be epic.

Mega xl is my favorite ammo type. I have 3 boomdozers. I also have an ogre. The ogre is smaller, much more powerful, and has more options. It is just so much better in every way. Also my personal ogre gets much better fps than in the video. That may be due to darts or some such thing. But it's more like 80-90 fps.
With the cylinder on the top idea, after the second shot you can use the empty cylinder as a "sight"
I just saw walcom’s review and I must say, this blaster represents so much of what nerf modding and 3d printing is about. This blaster would never be manufactured by a company like hasbro because of how specific it is, but with 3d printing you can make a proprietary blaster like this to fill any niche. 👍
It kind of reminds me of the Megalodon in how it's operated, which I like to see since that was a really cool hip-firing blaster as well.
The world needs more Mega XL blasters.
Love the shoulder concept, I'm personally working on a homemade rocket launcher with that concept in mind, except the plunger tube itself is 15 inches by 4 inches, and is planned on firing darts that are 2 inches diameter by 6 inches long. So far it has fired once, launched about 60 ft with a slight angle, and broke the plunger rod, had to make it more sturdier and haven't had the chance yet to put it back together and test it out once more.
I love the ogre. I feel like your fps is a lot lower than mine, I’m using the SF25 spring though. I’m making a version that takes the talon axe armory 40mm shells as a special buster. Sort of what that M32 was supposed to be.

I also get much higher fps on mine using an sf25
I think a mega magazine fed version would be neat as hip fire weapon that is
one of my favorite new blasters i love it
Well that looks like a lot of fun!

I have one, it's incredibly fun. Our club uses mega xl as a shield piercing ammo. So if there are shields I break out ogre.
Part of me wants one with the pump grip set on the side so as to operate like the republic commando shotgun

It has a side prime option. It's not nearly as nice to use in that configuration
another option would be to put the cylinder on the side, then you'd be able to get a sight picture although I guess you'd have to have the priming handle also sideways without a big redesign to the priming system, and that would make the blaster non-ambidextrous

**Starts giggling maniacally** Get2. Flip them on their sides. Put the priming handle center-bottom. Rig the triggers with a single center-bottom grip. It'd be a workout to prime it, but...Double-Barrel Mega XL! (I know. Likely not practical. But if you could get it to work...)

It was designed from the ground up as a hip fire blaster. You aren't meant to aim down the top.
Oh man I was waiting to see this one with your colours, freaking awesome
I was there when you came up with the catch mechanism fix. I remember you were excited about figuring something out. Also, I do agree with your critiques. I think it might be better, in a way, if the priming handle and trigger/handle were on the same side.

In real steel, the catch, trigger, and grip for a firearm - that entire assembly - is called the fire control group.

I have an ogre and use it at events. With a single point sling on it hangs perfectly at your hip just ready to be hip fired. Changing the grips position would mess with the balance. Once you have used the ogre in games to destroy shield carrying opponents you will understand it's ergonomics. It has an option for a side prime, but it sucks. The default configuration is perfect. Running ogre with a flywheeler pistol is an amazing combo.
It’s a what if? Hellboy had a grenade launcher in his arsenal❤️🇦🇺
Fun blaster! Bangarang!
Now the biggest question of them all CAN IT TAKE A K26
I could see a few different cylinder designs that could work. An all Mega version could be cool, as well as an Ultra and Rival versions. But now to the crazy on. A multipurpose cylinder. 1Mega XL barrel, 1 Mega barrel, 1 Rival barrel (with the capability to shotgun), 1 elite shotgun barrel, and 1 single shot elite barrel. Since you can easily cycle between the barrels once it's primed, just keep priming until you get to the barrel you want. I don't think it would be too difficult to design either, since it's just 5 barrels and the Mega XL cylinder is already 5 shots
its adorable
That cylinder is very reminiscent of the Webley Fosbery.
Id love to run something like this, sadly games near me dont accept alternate ammo types. Maybe one day if they do I could try and make one of these for some silly blasting.

That sucks! Why limit ammo? In my club mega xl is a shield piercing ammo. The ogre does have a shotgun cylinder and an inline shotgun cylinder.
I Like How They Scream.
Overprint the i.d. sand it down.
Okay thats kinda cool!
Oh it's beautiful. But can it take a K-26?

It uses a full size k25 as a default. It could totally take a k26 but I doubt the performance would increase much. It might need a spring guide for the k26 with how skinny and crunchy it is.
Could you make one of them arm mounted
@CaptainXavier

I feel that would make it very difficult to prime.

@@CaptainXavier valid point since it’s chugging out the xl darts at decent velocity

This'd be a lot of work to set up, but... Maybe put the priming handle on the side, but rig it as a sort of hook or ring, which could engage a counterpart worn on the belt. That should let the user put the blaster to their belt and push down to prime. Alternately, replace the current priming handle with a sort of double hook (which might be able to also act as a sort-of sight), which could engage a ring or loop on the belt. You'd need to either move the trigger somehow to the front (unless it sticks way out past your hand), or rig a linkage or some such to the trigger hand.

If you want arm mountable mega xl just use an arm Mount rail and a picobooper with 40max or a little rocket mighty mamma. Ogre is way to big to be an arm mount unless you are a an actual ogre sized person.
MEGA XL revolver lynx would be epic
Or you could get good at hip firing :)

Never!
Rotate grip 90-degrees and have prime handle on side? Wouldn't be ambidextrous anymore... but would be cool...
@frozenfade

Side prime is an option that exists for it already but it's nowhere near as good and everyone I know who has tried the side prime went right back to top prime.
pan core is how you say it :P
Hey CaptainXavier can give the ogre a massive spring upgrade and shoot it with nine darts pls

Good point about swotching the grips, I believe that would be superior. Otherwise, too little too late! Walcom's hit yesterday and was better :
