timeless song,

One of the most underrated bands from 1980(s), but some of their songs are rare gems. After all these years I am still listening to them. Good music is timeless.

One of the best songs of the late 80's.

The Ocean Blue brought happines to my adolescent years.

This is one of the best guitar solos I’ve heard in my entire fucking life. Chills

Theyre here in Tampa for back to back shows. The one we are going to they are doing the Cerulean album. Also got the VIP meet & greet upgrade so that will be nice

@@ProjectPhenix thats what I was thinking. The notes were too perfect so I was thinking lip-syncing but def the voice is more strained and less produced. Dunno how they mute out the drums tho

@@Katzenkaiser My top favorites: small faces, jam/style council, oasis, damned, only ones, verve, spiritualized, echo & the bunny men, Pink Floyd, and charlatans.

I remember racing home from HS to see this episode!

Hard to find comparable bands during this time and that is why I think this amazing band was overlooked by so many. They have a few absolutely brilliant songs. Between Something and Nothing is musical perfection! Ballerina out of Control and Drifting Falling are magnificent. Other tracks like Mercury are well worth the listen.

Remember seeing them at LVC. Loved them since this first album, lucky to know one of the band members. Still going strong all these years later.

Absolutely the best song to send off the 80's.

One of the most underrated bands , could never understood why they didn't get more airtime, but hey been listening since 1st album came out and still fantastic today!

Occasional fan of Ocean Blue… last place I expected to see them was ClubMTV with a room full of professional hip hop dancers! And followed by Janet Jackson! 😂 1989 was awesome

Yes these guys cut their chops on The Smith’s almost exclusively and being out in PA where they are from must have almost been like living in the English countryside.

Their first two albums are amazing

Downtown Julie Brown. was awesome. I remember my friends and I were into hard core punk music and we loved Julie.

They also got a lot of play/coverage on MTV’s 120 Minutes, where I think they fit better.

I can’t believe I missed them on this show

Interesting they did reverse-sync with him really singing to the original recorded track I'll bet it was MTV who made them do it that way.

You could tell they had been listening to their share of Cocteau Twins, Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure, and such. I mean, they did a cover of There is a Light on an EP from their last album on Sire. And a couple of years ago they were doing a cover of Just Like Heaven live.

For those of you who understand what I'm talkin about, that drummer was fuckingawesome

It’s a sad fact, but it’s true. It’s obvious that the boys from The Ocean Blur are out of their comfort zone around this hip-hop crowd. 😂

This is the original band in 1989.

First of all, I cannot believe this was on Club MTV! Secondly, I cannot believe it's actually live (it is!) - and not mimed. Thirdly, this is not how I'd imagined they look. Who expected a fluffy blond twink with DSLs? 👄 🤣 🌹

Definitely the comment I connect with here. The dancers were good sports because this was not their band yet they somehow pulled off energy that I’ve never at any Ocean Blue show. If you see someone jumping around like a maniac now to this song at your concert, it will be me in a Club MTV shirt 🤣

Actually he sung it live to the original recorded track, exactly as it was on the record so they synched with the instruments instead of the lips.
