Congrats on being a partner of drumeo, that’s huge dude.
Thanks, I was really struggling on improvising jazz chords on the piano, after this video I can safely say I can play the guitar 😃👍

remember that you don't need to push your foot super far up the pedal! more in the middle of the kick helps with accuracy and rebound force (i.e. speed)

I find that if u pour milk on your legs it helps things start coming together with kick pedal speed’ also if u call yourself Simon and then pour milk on your legs that can help get your speed up quicker’ but that’s just me’ hopefully it will work for u ✌️🥁✌️

Would the same exercise work for the weaker foot, hi-hat clutch?
i've been drumming since i was 9, moderate training. no joke getting quicker at the kick just took listening to bands or drummers that utilized fast single pedal kicks and wanting to do it too. as long as you're not physically incapacitated, you should be able to train up to speed with repetition. you don't even need to be accurate! just keep going and trying to match your speed with what you hear in your head and you'll be hitting those louis cole kick fills in no time.

Was hoping for oceanography with my man Zach but this works too
As a mainly metal drummer who plays plenty of really fast double bass, all I wanted to do was play to my favorite music, so I did. I if course sucked at first but just over repetition and continually trying faster and faster parts, eventually I was just able to do it. Maybe not a great way to teach but it worked great for me!
Love the tutorial style stuff bro you’re easy to follow and the tips are genuine ✌🏼✌🏼
The mic is really good! some EQ might be good cause of the low frequencies it has, maybe tune them down a little bit, add some high's and mids! :D

dude i did this for an hour straight today starting at 130bpm, now i’m hittin 180bpm. incorporate some fills and make it saucy too. bro a gem for this one !
You continue to make me glad and proud for buying your shirt, love you too❤
gonna try this tomorrow, thanks zack :)
You are actually such a wonderful person that I subscribed
New mic sounds good just take out some boxiness in the low mids and you're set
Love your humor. Keep going Zack
Drum masterclass delivered with comedic genius. This is fantastic!

Man I play guitar and piano, but I still love watching stuff like this cuz it’s just too funny lol. Keep being you man.
im literally wearing the same slides playing my own kik watching this video playing my kik AT LITERALLY THE SAME SPEED AS U we twinning cuh
your swivel technique is smooth and small, very concise. i need to practice that small swivel movement until my leg falls off

duuuude... thank you for being a drummer that does funny. so many ppl so serious.
I’ve gotten to the point in my drumming that I normally don’t think about my foot. But I want to learn double peddle someday and this might help!
Actually need this beautiful mans videos to keep breathing everyday, thanks for the smooch at the end as well. Love you bro?
When the world needed him most, he returned with another banger
I wish I knew that technique much furder, now I do that, but it took me a lot to develop, and my doubles now just simply come out naturally, and it's AWESOME, But really, thank you for making me realize that 🙏
Mic sounds great, you just need to reduce the level a bit as it's clipping. You can always bring the levels up in post
I don't leave a Zackgrooves video until I get mah smooch. 😙 Great lesson, man! Thanks for sharing.
Mic on neck, clear AF. all good. Thanks for the definitive tutorial on kick speed!
Lookin swole bro 🔥
Evil Zack came out for a second when he alternated the toms
I can relate. I started recording myself bc I found myself wondering if I was even continuing to play with my feet after I'd get in the zone. I need to get louder but I still play the same when I'm focused on what my hands are doing, trying to create multiplied patterns of funk on fills. Thanks for the video. I like that beat you learned too
Wow! Thanks! Really helped!!!! 😊
I remember seeing that Tony Royster DVD in every drum catalog for years.
i dont even play drums and this helped me
That's the Problem with Lavs. Hypersensitive to movement, the connection just comes apart. I advise a wireless one if you gon do crazy shit bruh. Keep up the Great content G

I can get pretty fast with heel toe, but i always felt like it was cheating, so I've been trying to work on my slide technique, and now I realize that its just another technique, so for those who are thinking that its cheating, its literally just another technique, doesn't matter, whatever works for you works! Edit: spelling
Awesome Video, Mic is good, just try to attenuate a litle the low mid frequencies and boost the high one for a little more clarity and perception bro!!
Great video man.
amazing my man
Thanks man I need to learn this kipp up the work
He said Oceanography....I felt that.
play anything written by joey jordison for a day and u got it

yoo sick slippers bro !
Mic kinda trash, but them oceanography classes were real good dude, thanks

Zack back with the bangers!!!🔥🔥🔥
“Evolution” is such a dope Tony Royster Jr. project!
Ever time I watch Zack play drums my need for a drum set: 📈📈📈
Also strengthen your calf and thigh muscles. Best way to do that without any equipment is whenever you listen to music, tap/stomp your kick drum foot to the time or double the time of the song if its slow. You’ll feel your calf start to ache and cramp; just keep going. It’s worth it

That beat is iconic and blew my mind the first time I heard it back then
One of the ways I learned to develop a fast kick was from the song good times bad times by led zeppelin. I would practice that song religious and it took me a long time but it paid off in the end.
Lol the glasses and flip flops combo. I’m diceased XD
People ask how they do it Me:skill

Tony Royster, it all makes sense now. Thomas Pridgen too? Dude, okay...
We love you Zack! :)
This was a phenomenal educational bonding experience
Maybe your mic is not bad, but you should add trebble in mixing. You had some saturation also, so many things can cause that. Personally I use supercardioid mics for both voice and drums. Great video as usual m8 ! Thanks for tips
The god is uploadin
Def gonna practise that
We just gotta get a set of gigacalves like yours! got it!
Letting it happen naturally makes it so much better but its so hard to do consciously. Very useful
Yay, profesor Zack

thanks zack love u too 😘
Hey, it helped - now we're both happy ;)
Thanks!
Your amazing.. Thank you... Your vids help me Fo real
Mic sounds good. 👌
Thank you
Yes good stuff
the way i learned was kinda trial by fire with playing Iron Maiden songs bc A) they were my favourite at the time and B) a lot of galloping grooves w no double bass (didnt have one at the time). slowing down tracks like The Trooper and Dream of Mirrors really helped me hone in that gallop technique as there wasnt anything too complicated going on with the hands, i was able to focus on the foot pedal. then once it became second nature, u start to speed up the song and holy shit im going fast
My turtule really like this tutorial, and now can play the drums to James Brown! 😀😀
PLease never stop with the kiss joke its so fucking funny dude
damn thing works, ill start working on it rn
I had the exact same experience as a teen playing with grown adults and never getting paid lmao
Hey bro, im a drum teacher, im 32 yo, i play the drums for like 20 years i have tons of students, the only problem i have is to land on the 1, i have mad chops i didnt uplaod nothing to youtube maybe 1 day i will, but can you give a tip on how to land on the one when you start flowing with chops ?
