i've been drumming since i was 9, moderate training. no joke getting quicker at the kick just took listening to bands or drummers that utilized fast single pedal kicks and wanting to do it too. as long as you're not physically incapacitated, you should be able to train up to speed with repetition. you don't even need to be accurate! just keep going and trying to match your speed with what you hear in your head and you'll be hitting those louis cole kick fills in no time.

As a mainly metal drummer who plays plenty of really fast double bass, all I wanted to do was play to my favorite music, so I did. I if course sucked at first but just over repetition and continually trying faster and faster parts, eventually I was just able to do it. Maybe not a great way to teach but it worked great for me!

Also strengthen your calf and thigh muscles. Best way to do that without any equipment is whenever you listen to music, tap/stomp your kick drum foot to the time or double the time of the song if its slow. You’ll feel your calf start to ache and cramp; just keep going. It’s worth it
