    McGregor at featherweight was something very special. The movement, speed, accuracy and above all else the mind he had at that weight was truly mythical.

    @@ozguraydn8407 Like Dustin couldn't do the same with his bigger frame? Like Conor handled Holloway? Like everybody said any wrestler would beat Conor in feather weight? In your logic, then why Not Paulo Costa dropped down to feather weight and dominates all? If anybody can drop down their weight and bully with it?

    Ppl that say “I miss this Conor” “I miss this mindset” etc, don’t understand that he’s accomplished everything he’s wanted and then some. He also is still coming back to fighting. How does he not have a great mentality anymore when he’s worked his ass off to comeback from a snapped leg? Miss whatever you want but at least understand that HE changed mma forever and did everything he wanted and still wants more bodies

    You can still understand all of that and miss the "old" Conor. You can see that his personality is not the same as it was. His trash talk used to be witty and funny before, now he rants more often. Also his style of fighting has changed. People aren't saying he's mentally weak now they are saying he was more focused back then, which made him a better fighter

    It's intriguing to look back on how he responded to fan attention before. It looks like he genuinely enjoyed it. IMO, too much attention from people - and especially when the people want it for their own benefit rather than out of being a fan - well that is going to change how to respond to the attention. Among all of Conor's questionable behaviors, I don't begrudge him at all for reducing his openness and friendliness to strangers. I know I would do that,

    Poirier has been way more active. He had thirteen more fights in the interim and won ten of them. After McGregor fought Alvarez he sat out for nearly two years. With gaps of a year or more between fights, while other guys are grinding, the gap closes eventually. In the decade that McGregor has been with UFC he's spent a lot of time sidelined, even before the leg-break. Two years between fights, over a year until the next one, a gap of another year after that, and he's been sidelined for another two years with an injury.

    Watch how fluid and smooth he moves here. Watch his recent training. He doesn't look bad now. He looks bad compared to this, however. He looks insanely dangerous here. Now he looks stiff and like he's walking through Quicksand. Also something else that i think he's lost forever: the hunger. He has everything now. He went and did the worst thing a fighter can do, he went and got civilized. Also all the coke, booze, and the age factor are all components.

    FW Mcgregor was when he was at his best! Hungry, ambitious and 100% dedicated, he lost that at LW! Don't get me wrong he had a coupled of great performances but I still say the guy just wasn't big enough for the division. Khabib and lots of others were cutting from 190lbs down, Mac was low 170's at the time, it makes a massive difference in the hardest division in the sport. Amway, I believe his prime has passed, it was short but tremendous. I say retire now whilst your legacy is still great, don't be the guy who just keeps loosing and loosing but your ego won't allow you to retire. Long live the King.

  • @JudasVondig
    @JudasVondig Жыл бұрын

    Say what you want but McGregor's 9-1 run in the ufc to the Alvarez fight and the featherweight/lightweight title is the best of all time. He took the sport to a new level with that run. DJ, Usman, Silva many more all had more successful runs, Volkanovski is still on a better run statistically. But that was the best run in UFC history. It's a shame he still wants to fight, that hunger and desire is long gone and with every deleted tweet and pretend brawl he takes the shine off that run. 10 fights in 3.5 years that took the sport to a completely different level. He should always be respected for that no matter what. But i fear he'll be remembered for being a troll and a mouth.
