A great episode despite the inclement weather. I did that very same road (A68) the other week on the way to London when it was horrendous rain and wind. The return journey was beautiful a few days later though. Looking forward to the next one! Ride safe, gents.

Well done Dave! 👏 just reminded us of our WAW2 trip - never had such wet weather 🌧️ - really felt for you both - such a pity, we had really good weather on our 250 trip and the ride through Kielder Forest was well worth it worth it too! Looking forward to part 2 - strangely enough I had problems with my pinlock on my Neotec 3 🤔

Never, ever have I enjoyed riding in conditions such as you and Trev were in today. Sometimes there is comfort when enjoying it with a friend. The plan to call it quits for the day was well called. Riding when wet and in all day wind and rain is more tiring than 2 old blokes are used to. I was tired and cold from my chair. Lol. Hoping Andy is also enjoying the video while he and Carol are inside keeping dry and warm. 👍👍5🏍🙋‍♂️

If you’re up this way again, you can ride over the Otterburn range when the flags aren’t flying. You can look up the times. And the Forest Drive is so worth it. It’s basically gravel track, deep and rutted in some places, but as the speed limit is 15mph, it’s not difficult and easy on an ADV bike. Going north to south is good as there’s not only a cafe, pub and petrol station, but you’re rewarded with a relaxing ride along the reservoir afterwards 😊

Good call Dave to sack it off the rain looked horrendous. Great vid love how you put it together. 👍🏻

Good observation Andy and normally I would have thought it’s only the Irish who can offer such wet hospitality!🤣 Yes Trev is a great bloke and very funny. We had a lot of laughs. 🙏👌

I’ve just got back riding to Vegas and back 4,600 kilometres (2,858 miles) one stop each way and on the way back, what the, 3 seasons in a day, stunning blue skies but bitterly cold, wind that tossed me around like a rag doll, over turned a massive truck and took another motorcyclist out. Then sunshine again and a surreal experience of turning into a town and hitting a localised snow storm. A detour later and blue skies, a little ferry crossing and roads to die for. Keep them coming and good luck for route 66. I’ll try and make an interesting video and share it with you, but I don’t have your skills my friend.

Thanks for the video. I stopped in the same parking area on the border back in September on my way from Dundee back home to Cornwall. The weather was very similar!

Wow that weather sucks, however as a biker it's just what you have to put up with, I had to change in an American diner having ridden across Germany in the pouring rain one day. Additional, ive just run in my new 765rs, what a thing 😁

Damn, great to see some other mad bastard rides during storms. Love the feeling of getting to a hotel to dry out.

Rode the Kielder Forest Drive during beautiful weather in the summer of 2022. Easy on adventure bikes even with road tyres, Road is well maintained but as it was closed when you were there it may well have been flooded in parts and not safely passable

Hi Dave, just joined your channel loved the vlog. I've just got back on a bike after a road accident 3 years ago and it's a GS. Great bike to ride even in bad weather but there's nothing more horrible than constant rain just grinds you down. I'm off touring Scotland next month for 6 days I'm sure I'll experience rain sometime within that week. Look forward to the next vlog ride safe 👍

You were very close Dave, I live just off the A68 near Corbridge, I did a fair weather dance obviously I failed miserably. Catch up with you next time for a coffee and cake👍. The Forest Drive is ok when dry but I’d give it a miss when very wet, you made the right decision as it can be very rough.

Loved the video Dave, i’ve put my thoughts on the beeb beeb Kielder drive as you will see, time there was warnings about the forestry commission definition of forest drive.

DO the forest drive Dave. Lets say it is not fine gravel it is largish rocks and on a wet day with road tyres it would have made great viewing . One of my favorite runs is Northumberland. Done it so many times have my own routes now.Taking a few friends in May round it.

Hi Dave, I’ll be watching the second part in anticipation. The area around sea houses on the coast is one of the hidden gems in the uk with beaches to die for. I’d be interested to hear how you managed to get your comms on the footage…

Pillocks can only take so much rain. Happened to me also. 6+ hours of rain. The inside of yer helmet would be wet which wouldn't help.
