I've been using The vault in my uni years and i keep using it for work and gym! The backpack is a beast and i love it!!!

I agree with the support. My NF Vault from 10years ago is still alive. It expands like crazy lol, but you can barely feel the weight on your shoulder even if it’s so full. I’ve been using mine recently for grocery shopping haha.

He is like those guy who keep a straight face when telling a joke

The jester is more entry level.... I'd spend the extra few bucks and get the Recon which is the absolute classic and better seller. Hope that helps. #bettergear

been using this version vault for about 3 and a half years now for college. There’s nothing wrong with it at all besides a teared water bottle mesh and the zipped admin pocket i overstuffed. i just upgraded to the recon for extra space, the separate laptop compartment and exterior mesh pocket

It sounds like you've had a great run with your North Face Vault Backpack for your college needs! Three and a half years of reliable service with only a torn water bottle mesh and an overstuffed admin pocket is pretty impressive. It's good to hear that overall, the backpack has held up well. @@RushfasterTV Thank you! The old Vault is still in use, but for smaller tasks. I hope this new Recon sticks with me longer being made of better materials and being more versatile than the Vault. I hope to take it around the world with me and carry with it new experiences.

There is no loop or exit for a water bladder. That's one reason why I bought the recon.

Yeah the fabrics are water resistant to a degree, but don't rely on it to protect everything if you get caught in a downpour. Best to get a rain fly for peace of mind! :) - Ed

is it good for hiking?

It's decent for a light day hike, but North Face definitely does have other bags that are much more suited for Hiking. - Ed

I had mine for a year and the straps started to split and the zip broke. Now one the bin. Junk.

The materials of the bag are water-resistant, but not water-proof. If you throw the bag into a pool it wont stop water from getting inside. Hope that helps - Ed.

i miss the old design of north face backpacks. with straps to compress the pack and with water bottle pockets with drawstrings and cord locks where you could keep the bottle more secure. like the old recon. the new ones with this modern minimalistic design are ugly imo
