The North Face Cup 2023 MEN Final 🔥
Спорт
Hello everyone! Welcome back to the Channel!
Here we bring you The North Face Cup Men's Final with some chapters to skip to the part you prefer.
This is a very interesting competition because the format is a little bit different from what we are used to in the IFSC World Cup circuit.
If the athletes top the boulder problem, they can do the next climb. On the contrary, if the competitors cannot manage to complete the boulder they are eliminated. Ah, and they have only 3 min to complete de climb.
Knockout rounds basically.
What do you think about this format? Sould it be more comps like it?
00:17 - Boulder 1
09:43 - Boulder 2
15:30 - Boulder 3
19:50 - Boulder 4
25:49 - Podium
Thanks for watching! 🔥

Tomoa is no longer human, his hands, forearms, and biceps are now mechanic, and he is mounted on springs. World cups are going to be amazing !!!
Why couldn't Tamoa be my father
So cool the route ey

I think this is an interesting format, it certainly creates more show. but for ifsc official competitions i would abstain from such a knowout format, because what we want there is to separate the field with seasoned climbers who are good at different styles (slab, coordination, power). in a knock out format it too much depends on the order in which the different boulder styles are placed. So, I see this as an entertainment format which is probably also a good training for the athletes with respect to comps because they have even less time to figure out the sequence. I also like that the boulders are somewhat shorter than in ifsc (fewer moves) that does not wear out skin so much
How is the yellow toe hook start not unfair for shorter climbers?

Can someone tell me why the Korean player didn't complete the first route but was not eliminated? i don't really understand the rules

I think because he got the furthest away from the 2 other climbers that didn't make it

There's no elimination. Bouldering competitions generally only rank by amount of tops (completing a climb), then by amount of zones (get to a specific halfway point - doesn't seem to be used here), and then by amount of attempts for each as a tiebreaker (and then by ranking in the semifinals as a final tiebreaker if needed)
