I was roughly that age when I first saw this. Watched it so many times the VHS tape died and we had to get a new one. (I didn't even know they could wear out like that.)

I seriously love the attention to detail in this movie. In this case, it's the beginning of the video when Jack is talking to the trio. If you pay attention you can hear his finger bones clicking as they hit each other when he pounds his fist in his hand, and ESPECIALLY when he simply rests one hand on top of the other when kneeling down towards the kids as he's greeting them. I just love it~.

He had misgivings about christmas being jolly, which turns out later that he was right after Jack is shot down and seemlingly being dead (permanitly). He even says "I knew this Christmas thing was a bad idea. I had the feeling in my gut". At the time though he just played along since Jack is technically the real leader of Halloween Town while the Mayor himself is what he said earlier is just an elected leader (more or less of a ceremonial position) so he hasn't much power to make decisions.

Although to keep the kid's in mind, they toned it down by adding humor to it. Many of Disney's stories are not peaceful and calm like modern Woke Disney tries to make themselves look like. Walt liked down to earth themes and you can see it in a lot of his original works. Evil and bad things were not shied away from, they were acknowledged as part of reality, and the characters overcoming this danger or otherwise experiencing the consequences of their actions is what made them memorable.

Being exposed through the arts helps them learn to cope with things that are scary or hard. That's something that society has understood for a long time. We've abandoned that concept I think. Kids aren't being prepared for the real world anymore.

It's an every year tradition to come here at least once

when i was young this movie scared me so much. Oogies bugs made me cry, sally losing her arm and leg made me cry, but this song itches the brain so well.

The scariest part of this is children can be really evil without understanding their own actions

Why do I find them so adorable?

This movie alway have me little chills especially with this song and oogie boogies entire charter but I almost like how creatively creepy it is

These 3 are some of my favorite villains ever. They're just chaotic little children

A true christmas story from me: Aunt: Do you think the kids will get along well they haven't been around each other before. Mom: Oh I'm sure they'll be fine, they all like the same stuff so they should get along fine. Me and my cousins about 12 minutes after meeting each other for the first time ever: *KIDNAP THE SANDY CLAWS*

The fact this song was my favorite song as a *child*
