I recently became interested in this music after watching the movie, "Rock and Rule", and I'm looking for more music like it. this is the closest i've found to it and I'm not sure what to call it. Is it called "retrowave"?

Synthwave/Retrowave is the term for it, but you can also listen to 80s music from the actual 80s - both choices work because they're great. You have a good taste! It's great that that sound is coming back 🖤. We are joyful to see others interested in this as well - WE ARE NOT ALOOOONE 🖤🖤. Look up Sebastian Forsland (Guitarist and Percussion on most of this album) he has some songs under the category of "metal, rock music" that you might really enjoy.

Typically look to Nuclear Blast for the metal, but this 80's vibe does speak to me. Was a teen in the 80s and loved the new wave sound and this just brings that all right back. Even the video has that 80's vibe going on.
