That is the largest palace in Yorubaland. Many old buildings have to be kept that way fir traditional purpose. Ive been to that palace, Alaafin is very lenient

I think the tortoise at Aalafin palace is younger than the tortoise at Shoun's place. The tortoise at shoun's palace is almost 400yrs old and still alive. The tortoise is probably the oldest living thing in the world.

No, that's not the throne! The room you showed last is one of the rooms where Alaafin receives or attends to visitors. There are other bigger inner vistors' rooms and you did not showed a lot of places and artifacts. I understand you did the little you did without the written permission of the palace, hence the rush. You did not tour places like Kòbì Awo, Ilé Kótó among others. Also there are animals left unshown. Oyo palace houses a lot. You just toured 10% of the palace.

You're very correct. This is the ancient building shown. The modern palace is inner.

So this is the state condition of Alaafin Oyo palace with all them paparazzi wife’s acting like posh whatever.. They should go and renovate the palace joor. This is eyesore o jare.

Why Sub-saharan palace look like pleasant or low-class citizen house, even southeast asian palace are more beautiful like Grand palace Bangkok, Royal palace Mandalay, royal palace phnom pehn cambodia, Pagaruyung palace Indonesia, Keraton Cirebon Palace Indonesia. No big like Forbidden city but it consider palace. Nigeria royal palace not even like noble people or rich and high class people, the ever used grass or thatched roof but ceramic or roof tiles, yes some Japanese palace and southeast asian used thatched but it well made. like Kyoto Imperial Palace, used thatched, but all castle used roof tiles and ceramic roof tiles, in Indonesia like Istana Besar Pagaruyung Palace but. but in Nigeria it was just like commoner and poor people houses.

The Palace is dirty. Where do they host those lavish ceremonies? They need to clean and paint the walls. The old man lives in the darkest room.

Nigeria,Nigeria,what and where is Nigeria government spending their money on,the grasses in open space are not well keep,the paintings on buildings are not shining,the paints on the palace buildings paints are washed off and there's lack of enough illumination everywhere there I.e the electricity in whole palace etc,the people and the government needs to refurbish everywhere in the country.

This palace looks untidy, we can do better.
