the nicest road in Thailand...
The road from Chiang Mai to Pai is Thailand's most famous for a motorbike journey and this video shows you why.
We start at the North Gate in Chiang Mai old town and highlight the epic beaty, awesome nature and some of the hundreds of turns on this winding mountain road. If you have never done this, you should and if you have....you'll LOVE this video.

Again be careful of Safety Wings. Never use it as a primary health insurance more travel insurance. It is very sneaky … lots of stuff not covered … also it’s not a rolling insurance you have to reenrol every year. Sadly if you get an illness during this period. You won’t get covered by Safety Wings or another health insurance company for subsequent years. BE CAREFUL!

Such an epic road trip! I rode it again recently after 3 years. 762 turns from Chiang Mai to Pai. Highly recommend! 👏👏👏

The farmer told you he was cultivating. And the snail that eats the rice must take it out of the field. And use a solution mix water to kill the snails as well Planting rice in the ground produces better quality yields than farming by throwing rice grains. because the seeds are quite large and consistent grain size and better selling price because of quality The disadvantage is that it takes a lot of time and labor, and the quantity per rai is lower than that of throwing seeds. 😊🌾🌾🌾
this was a 15minute trip down memory lane. I did this in 2017 and loved it!

Finally a cool and classic episode from this channel again!
Wife and I did Korat, Petchabun, Phu taburk, Phitsanulok, Lampang, Chiang Mai, Doi Inthanon, Mae Jam, Mae Hong Son, Pai, Phitsanulok and back to Korat last week in 10 days on an ADV 160. Wildest riding was from Doi Inthanon to Mae Jam in the rain. I'll try it in the dry season next time, might enjoy it a bit better. 😅

Not recommend riding in dry season. It is 🥵 too hot for farang rider under the scorching sun. 😅
at the first stop. The farmer tried to explain that the snails were eating the rice plants. So they tried to see the medicine to get rid of rice enemies. And said that this kind of snail is edible.😊

Good to know. I guess that was pesticide in the bottle which he was using in the sprayer as he walked off.
@nestorgrey

@@billybob7522 That's right. But there are a lot of people who don't want to use pesticides. There are still some farmers who still use this method. Nowadays, most of the farmers have switched to organic farming but because it requires a lot of effort and difficulty. So there are other people who still use a simpler method. And pesticides are cheap and can be produced more. Organic farming is also higher in cost and less productive. The use of natural enemies takes more time and requires more experts to educate farmers. It is for the same reason that during the burning season a farmer burns his fields and gardens to prepare for further planting. It's a simple and cost-free method for the villagers. Causing the season to the northern region of Thailand, so there is a dust in the world because not only Thai farmers who burn gardens and farms, but neighboring countries also do.
Another AWESOME road trip from the guys at Retired Working for You!! I will be making the trip in October before Halloween. Been living in Chiang Mai for a year now. NO regrets. Please keep up the great camera work and the different travels. YOU guys ROCK!
Did the ride a couple of years ago and enjoyed a couple nights in Pai. So much so I am heading back in January to do the ride again.
In CM right now , going to ride next week, same same ! 🤙🇹🇭🏆🙏🤩

Mae Hong Song loop, unforgettable trip.
At 3:35min (from what i understood) he is explaining that those Snails are Biting (eating) the rice plants. They collect the snails to eat them. And the bottle he is showing is some sort of pesticide, they spread the fluid over the field to let the Snails die.
Rode this on a bicycle a few years back, then carried on around the Mae Hong Son loop. Its a tough ride on a bicycle. Took a couple of weeks if I remember rightly.

Chris' shot, Adam's musical accompaniment. Beauty ride!
"The point of the journey is not to arrive." Neil Peart pretty much hit it on the head for Route 1095. I find the 107 a bit tedious, though, and prefer to peel left off onto the 3009, which joins the 1095 just where the traffic light junction joins the older twisty road to the more modern 'highway' stretch. There are 2 places you can do this when heading up 107, fairly close together. The first is about 200m past the PA Sang petrol station, and just after the 'LingLong' store at 18°55'54"N, 98°56'22"E - there's a sign for Wat Chedi Sathan. The second (a _slightly_ wider road, being the 3009 itself) another 250-ish metres further on. It's immediately after the pedestrian crossing/overhead lights by the Rumnuar Municipal Office, at 18°56'02"N, 98°56'227"E. Totally agree on the views from the preferred coffee stop. It was closed pon each of the last 3 times I called in there 😒 But you can still take in the vista 😁
Guys the wife and I were doing a week in Chiang Mai before a two-week Cambodia trip. I had a car while we were there for day trips and the happiest was always parking in the early eve. We braved Pai on a whim and got rear-ended in Chaing Mai on the way back and again so happy to park the car. Almost Famous in PAI was the most Gin complete experience for 2 nights .

Oh I miss it so much, I must record my trip. I did end of last year was epic! Went until Mae Hong son
Great video Chris and epic ride! The beauty of Thailand 🇹🇭 is best experienced on the back of a motorbike, avoid the highways and take the roads least traveled. There you will find the remote villages and smiling most welcoming Thai people. Give yourself enough time to drive slow and safely on the roads and pull over often because this to me was the real adventure of Thailand not my destination.

No big city life for me! We live 40 minutes north of Chiang Rai. Our land is located between two small villages surrounded by rice fields. Two 7-11 within 3km of the house too! The mountains are only 4 km away. Life can't get any better!
Awesome 🧡🧡👍
Ok, first I love that green shirt. Linen? Where can I get one Chris? I know I’ll learn to ride those 2 wheel things one day if I’m gonna become Thai-worthy. Great vid!
My wife got car sick on that road up to Pai a few months ago. I should have known better and drugged her with Dramamine before we went. Did it on the way back. Beautiful drive though to be sure!
Look's great
Im Thai but never been there. Hope you enjoy visiting Pai. Wishing you drive safely😉
The Mae Hong Son loop is 600 kilometres if you bike the full loop and has 1800 curves passing through places like Mae Sariang, Khun Yuam, and Baan Rak Thai

To fully blend in as a rider in Thailand there are some little tips. Indicators/turn signals - one or other must always be blinking, but this should only occasionally have any relationship to the direction you intend to go. Mirrors - one should be positioned to allow the rider to see themselves, and the other directed to show either sky, or the rider's knee. Side stands - these should be left down when riding at under 25 MPH, or when in an urban setting. Helmets - when worn, the strap should be left loose enough to allow the helmet to be swept back like an Easter bonnet. Lights - optional extras. Who needs them? This should assist those trying to avoid looking like a tourist.

in the paddy, they are separating out the young rice plants from the nursery to filed The snails, are a pest and they were using chemicals to kill them off, they dont eat them
With planting the rice field, you will saw many people planting it in the field, They are not hiring people for planting, they help each other by the owner of each rice field going to help other field and other owner will going back to help planting the rice on your field.
you need to do Pai to Mae hong son on bike....so gooood
My mate Grant and I did the Chiang Mai to Pai ride on scooters 2 week ago. Grant rod a new Honda 160 PCX and I rode a Honda ADV 150 just like Adam was on. Awesome trouble free ride up and Pa is a must see. Unfortunately as I was riding back I disintergrated the Honda’s rubber drive belt. I was still an hour from Chiang Mai where I rented the scooter. The Zippy Motorcycle Rentals sent out another Yamaha Scooter with a worker. I waited an hour and he turned up. I doubled him all the way back and made sure I didn’t scare him. Shit happens and I was giving the little 150 heaps so I can’t blame the renter shop. DO THE RIDE!
Did it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Should have got a Honda CRF300, really fun bikes to drive compared to mopeds and there's plenty of them in Chiang Mai, my fiance and I rented one on Chiang Mai last year and explored the mountains to the north, was great fun. Going to Bangkok next month and paid the deposit for another CRF, looking forward to it but Bangkok's roads are much more hectic than those of Chiang Mai.
