GMC out of all makers is the most resistant to change. This will never be released. GMC is the king of not listening to what the people want. Even if the consumers write it on their office windows. They will never make anything close to a ford Maverick competitor because they are no.1 when it comes to large trucks. All the gm office guys are old time cowboys who would never consider a truck smaller than a Denali.

Again you have trying to hype something that won’t happen for $25k. You are showing a V6 with body on frame that in no way will sell for that price. most people that are buying the small pickup are looking for an economical vehicle. A high HP V6 isn’t going to do that and certainly not in the trim level you are showing

Sounds like a great truck..but it has nothing to do with the Maverick & the other 4 door small trucks. No one is forgetting the economy market of this.. a very different market

I currently work in GM plant that makes the GMC Cayon. Ive seen MSRP in $60k range for a CANYON AT4X. Theres no way they could bring a Supercharged V8 Canyon to public for $25K.

4:02 In 1971. My dad kept me home from school. I was 9 Made my two younger brothers catch the bus and go to school. Didn't know what was going on. Took me out for breakfast. Then we went to the Chevy dealer. Test drove 71 short bed step side 2 w drive C10 pickup. Black on black. 350 4 bolt turbo 350 Had front disk brake option and had a 4.10 pos rear put in. 4200.00 out the door. Think about that.

I would kill to have the New Cyclone if it looks anything like the rendering. However, there is a microscopic chance the price will be below 45-50k and ZERO chance it will be 25k lol

Even if they make that price point (no chance) the 4.2 Liter Twin Turbo V8 making 550hp will cost you enough in insurance premiums to make it costs 50K at least.

It’s sounds like they just need to bring back the S-10/S-15

In this market people want cheap, utility. If they build what you showed it definitely won't be that.

You need a single cab, bench seat so if needed three can fit, six foot bed to actually fit lumber, yard waste and longboard surfboard, plus a four cylinder like the older Toyota Tacoma's. Economical and functional.... For a reasonable price... None of you car companies get it. You're missing the youth market who can't afford a 40-80K truck

Exactly.....I still have not found an affordable modern replacement for the used 96 S10 SS that I had back in the early 2000s ....It looked sporty, had a. 6ft bed. bucket seats and a console, V6 with good mileage, handled great, insurance was cheap, had low miles. I wish I vould have kept that one....Older trucks are now considered classics and are expensive, new trucks are full of problems and expensive.

Also missing retired folks, kayaks', cooler,fishing chairs,cooler,throw to bikes in the bed, project lumber,etc,. No cab,no whistles', simple 4, had plenty of muscle n heart attacks,lol,GODBLESS.

GM, Dodge just don't get it Ford sorta gets it with their little Maverick I might add they omitted making the Maverick a 2 option truck the one thing they shoulda done is made the Maverick with the option of a regular cab as well if they had done that GM and Dodge wouldn't of had a hope in hell for the next 10 years so sad Gm screwed up royally when they canceled the S10/S15 little trucks they were useful compact ,and well built and simple sad

I’ve posted comments exactly like yours for some time. And after owning small trucks for years (1 Datsun, 2 Mazdas, 1 Toyota, and 3 Nissans) I’d buy another if anyone made one.

GM wants to build a competitor, but the dealerships will make that a fantasy, due to markups!😂

Would like 2 door with bench seat.

Try $40 Grand not 25 for the Cyclops.

Coming from a salesman at GMC the syclone will start at 40k but will be sold for 50-80k depending on options i just went and asked how do i turn in my 15,000 mile fully loaded lariat maverick for the syclone and they told me get in line because everybody is asking about it

Would not buy it . Want small cheap truck , not glorified V8 supercharged engine , simple design . Get rid of Chicken tax. Ill buy what I want not drug induced Manufactures designs.

You can't even find a Ford Maverick truck for 22k there all over 30k when you see them for sale on the net and anything costing 20k to 30k new is way to expensive of a vehicle for most people

Good luck finding one for less than twice that price.

How many cool cars have we seen come out saying "Only $25K!"? and then you can not find one for less than $35K!! You will never find one at those prices that look like the Black one!!

If car companies make trucks suv get them to dealers so dealers have inventory to sell and kower prices i woukd think they sell more

This truck is sick but it’s not what people are looking for if they want a maverick. This is more like an old school lightning

Whoever said that you can get this truck for around $25K is definitely full of themselves. For $25k, it comes with no wheels and tires, no motor. By the time you buy additional features like cup holders for it, have the dealership mark up for it because there is a demand, I see it going for $60K+. I call this affordable little truck , The Syclone - Dreamer Edition.

Love that it’s a new vehicle that’s not electric.

Lol there's no way a twin turbo v6 with those hp figures will be sold for anywhere near that price. If gm builds this as you spec it, it will cost $50-60k starting and will sell nowhere near as many units as the Mav. In this era where EVs are taking over, people want more fuel efficient vehicles (like hybrids or EVs), not mega gas guzzling vehicles that are expensive to purchase, maintain, and drive.

Not sure where you live, but where i live 2 out of every 5 cars is a muscle car 400+ hp. Notice i said cars not all vehicles/suv.

I don't need a wing, or power windows. I request a throttle cable and brake fluid though.

GM how about a basic mini pickup like the old chevy LUV with a 2.2 -2.7L normally aspirated engine, and a 3 door extended cab variants.

I'll believe it when I see it. I feel the same way about the Brat and the Stout.

these two trucks aren't competitors with each other. the maverick is a fuel-efficient utility truck and the cyclone is a sport truck.

As long as it looks like the black one, for 25k...sign me up right now. I guarantee it won't look as good as the black one in vid and won't be even close to 25k.

Ya think? I am SURE GMC will offer a twin-turbo V-8 for $25K. They are tired of being in business for so long.

If it does come out and it is affordable hopefully it's all-wheel drive like the original. And they also follow with a typhoon.

It takes time and money to bring a new vehicle to market. Maverick will be fine.

Yes but I think that the Toyota will grab a large portion of the market, especially since Ford is having trouble getting enough of the vehicles out of Mejico. Not to mention pissing of buyers with dealer markups.

I want an EV maverick. Not a hybrid one. Love the smaller truck.

This would be my truck of choose if it is 4 WD and have engine options that would be nice to drive daily and high gas mileage and maybe a inline 6 diesel. If this truck got the right mileage as is and was 4 WD I would buy right now. I miss my S 10 and have looked for years for a new truck that would be equal to or replace it in size and power but have better mileage.

I really wish (dreaming) that gm would build the truck that is pictured with a twin turbo V8 but it would msrp at $125k not $25k.

The GMC is not the same as the Maverick but will be truly amazing if GMC will produce this truck and it will sell very well

Definitely a cool looking truck. But it needs the performance as well otherwise it’s a big miss. But I love the typhoon ,cyclone OG GMC. The new one looks so cool. Nice way to carry on the legacy.

Think about that little short cab. Looks like a penalty box and probably feels like one.

I mean I can see it for a work truck/off roading but other than having a 2 door truck it’ll lack the mind of people with families and so the maverick won’t be forgotten about

Ya I have a 2022 work truck Chevy Colorado with the v6 it a plain truck it's has just the rear wheel drive but for a v6 it goes ya I wish gm would put the v8 in it to bad they didn't

GMC is lost in the clouds thinking this going to sell or compete against the Maverick. What market are they wishing to sell to? This sounds like a $60-$70k truck.

I may be off here, but I think that the Syclone and Maverick are different vehicles and have different customer base. The Ford is pretty much at home in urban/suburban use or in light off road use. The interior and nav/info system needs fixed. Whereas the GMC is strictly urban/suburban use. I mean just look at the thing. Road use only for urban cowboys. Much nicer interior, nav/entertainment system much better and comfort. But it is wholly unsuitable for most work related use. And I don’t see how, even with the hype here, that the GMC will ever sell for less than $37,000. Probly over $40k. They will sell a lot and I can hear the dudes slobbering over that hot rod.

Sooooo the selling point of the Maverick is gas milage. So is this one gonna get better gas milage?

Didn't Dodge/Chrysler have a car called "the Cyclone" in the 1960's? I thought that other companies couldn't use another company's names!/ The new, truck "Cyclone" looks good, but should come in a four door model!

Ford Mavericks competitor is the Ranger since most EVERY Maverick is either an XLT or Lariat and so priced in the Rangers price range. Mavericks lure was its starting price of $20,000. You cannot find one at that price though since almost all are XLT or Lariats. and the ones that are not are too well equipped to be less than $25,000. any new truck GM or Ram brings to market will be exactly the same just like the Hyundai Santa Cruz. the small truck market is gaining in popularity, but the prices are still out of reach.

Yeah the cyclone coming back is cool AF. But what does it have to do with a Ford Maverick and being a affordable small pick up??? You already can't buy a Ford Maverick that's supposed to be 23,000 for less than $40,000 after mark up. What makes people think a high-performance cyclone is going to be affordable to the average person. The cyclone is probably going to be close to $70k. The only thing the cyclone is going to compete with is the new Ford F-150 base model truck that you can get with the 700 horsepower

The only way this truck could be made for that price is by getting rid of the workers here in the US. With this current strike, I see GM corporate having a way out and getting rid of workers permanently in the US. Have it be made 100% parts and assembly in Mexico, China, plants somewhere else other than the US to keep price and quality low for affordability to the consumer, while still making return profits. If this happens and GM corporate does this to the union workers by firing them and abandoning the US plants, I will never buy another GM vehicle again!

@@klacustoms the quality is already low with high prices. I bought a 22 1500 Denali and an injector went out at 1800 miles had to leave it in the shop for over a week due to back order. It has some rattling inside I can’t find and also clunking when I turn. I don’t think I’ll buy another GM product ever again.

@@user-zt6bt8dp2c I understand. I've had bad luck with Mopar products in the past. Mostly due to sensor issues and premature ball joint failure on almost all of them I've ever owned. Nice looking cars and trucks though. Stopped buying Mopar products years ago. You won't see me buy a Hellcat.

GM failed with the canyon diesel. Why didn’t they make it affordable and simple. It would be the perfect work truck. Instead the made it only in a luxury version. That was stupid.
