Great video keep the work coming
Eddie bravo utilised this strategy against his more recent match with Royler. I remember it looked like he let Royler mount him just so he can get a deeper half guard when he recovered which lead to an electric chair.
Absolutely right 💯Escapes are essential especially with counter attacks 🔥🔥🐍🔥
This is completely ingenious. So the through-line for these principles is pretty much any positional change can turn into a submission threat/attempt. Attack from anywhere once an adjustment is being made.
The other aspect of getting submitted from someone who is escaping is the "momentum factor". Like if I'm in bottom mount and someone starts submitting me, I think "well, that serves me right for being in bottom mount, let's start escaping". He already has a superior position. If I'm in top side control and someone starts submitting me, I think "Holy crap! I was meant to be winning! Oh no!". It's like 2 different football games - one goes evenly up to 30-24 with 10 minutes to go, and the side with 30 feels great. A different game goes 30-0, then the losing side scores 24 straight points and we get to 10 minutes to go. Both games are in the exact same position, but the side that was at 30 is freaking out in the second one.

its ok, in the basement at least there were so many people so you really didn't get any "training" from him, and he would tend to focus on his top students during rolling, id say the videos were actually way more beneficial for me at least.
THIS IS MIND BLOWING!!!
Man I love Dan Johnaher!
Whenever i want to me interested in something i read, i read it in johns voice.
love it!!
The escapes is one thing but to teach escapes to transitional submissions is revolutionary
Awsome video! My best rolls are based on this tgereo of skipping the neuteral position
The amount of information on John's head is just ridiculous. You need to have an incredible sharp mind to get to this level

Nice you discuss the mindset of constant "submissions pressure". If you like the idea look at some systema ground fighting. Find a club or video with the question of wanting to understand their ground work. Keep on rocking guys cool stuff your doing!!
I like how the camera guy knew to get super close to John's mouth as soon as he started talking. You sir, are a gentleman.
I feel like I'm gonna get stacked quite frequently following this advice. I'll just pray I dont quit at blue belt. Things will be alright.
legend
Interesting perspective .
Such a deep thinker
It seriously trips me out when I see dislikes on such great informative videos like this. Wow!
so true
This is exactly right. Positional grappling is moving to the technique. I have watched for a long time that guys will pass the guard work half clock while the lock down guard Position and finish with a submission from one of the positions. All the while I'm wondering why the guard game isn't actively working for positions and submissions. Doesn't make any since and this video opened that can of worms up. Turning full clock you would be working positions and submissions so why do we freeze into mount guard. When we could change positions inside the roll with submissions attached and stretch them out when they catch something and move back into the roll or into a reverse submission. Thanks for this video it really got the gears Turning.
I need to put headphones on to hear John
I like the Hustler Danaher here

Where can I get that Rashguard?
When does this get released??
sounds like a Danaher version of Gary Tonon's Exit the System set
Who is the amazingly talent BJJ person who gave this a thumbs down?
Where can I find a fight of a DDS member pulling mount?
Is the "Go Further Faster" system obsolete now?? I'm new to JJ. Which system would you recommend now??. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
kind of like in ruggby whn england regain possession in ther 22, thy will kik 4 touch [pull guard] resulting in play strting sum wer around the hlf way line. all blks regain possession in ther 22 and instead recognize the opposition r over extended and counter attack [goin 4 the submission]
