Clearly it couldn't have been that it was too dark if they said Yes to it in the first place, and Gravity Falls has had darker moments in it's run too.

A Charlie Brown Christmas was actually supposed to have a laugh track. CBS pushed the creators to do it, but the creators thought it was a dumb decision. Unfortunately, these conservatives don’t know what ‘dumb’ means despite the fact they’re called that all the time.

I imagine that like in Mr Birchum, one of Norm's friends is going to be gay, so the show will be able to display all its hatred of gays and claim that it is not homophobia because Norm has a gay "friend". And now that I think about it: the "non-binary" guy is a copy of Mr Karpanzi. Are all conservative adult animated shows going to follow the same formula? I hope so because then it would lead to a good episode of South Park parodying this absurdity.

It’s darkly hilarious that this show manages to do better diversity than some actual mainstream shows. It has an openly gay character that is acknowledged as gay in the beginning of the series, and an openly nonbinary character also acknowledged in the beginning of the series, and because of how bad the writing is these two are miraculously done pretty well as characters (in respect to the shows quality). Like they somehow failed so hard they made a cast more diverse than most mainstream media.

Animation is very close to Freedom Toons.

Imagine if episode 2 just goes really hard for no reason

tbh the only "good" part of the show is how they portray non binary people as this REALLY fucking cool punk styled mad max protagonist and as a non binary person myself, that is EXACTLY what i want to be

It’s amazing how they want the aesthetic of All of the Family with none of the progressive message it originally had. Old white guy saying offensive nonsequiters really is the peak of comedy to them, with zero media literacy.

And it's based on All in the Family too, my favorite show of all time, it's a remarkably prgoressive series and still holds up in many cases with a lot of nuance and depth of character, but some people thought that Archie was meant to be the voice of reason even back then It was apparently kind of like how people thought Torrente of the eponymous movies was meant to be hero and not a comedic soicopath
