In response to my question, i still really like the Eye of Reach, it’s a weapon that I find myself gravitating too everytime i play, close second would be the sword and hopefully daggers eventually

im sorry but your just still wrong the sword has such bad hit reg i dont think it ill ever by meta and its hard for ship to ship shots not to talk about how you can just hit shot with pistol snipe so much easier im sorry but the 1 blunder is still going to be way better and no way to do knockback

Sticking with sniper blunder because removing the blunder makes you ladder guarding a lot less effective and removing sniper also removing across boat sniping with is really important in sweaty HG. I like the weapon but unfortunately I can't survive without those two things.

Bingo. This right here. The dagger is versatile in that it's both melee and ranged... But that just makes it a jack of all trades, by being in the middle it lacks the damage of the blunder and the range of the sniper, even the "travel" aspect you can have with a sword lunge. It's happened so much with friends where we try to play HG and it's all fun and good till we run into players that actually know how to fight and only then do we have to pick up the old school weapons. Blundie is just too good with it's one-shot potential to not use in pvp, it's so good it almost feels mandatory and sniper is too good at medium and long range to not pick up alongside it. The new weapons are fun gimmicks but that's all they are, high skill players might use them to mess around in montages or streams but when it comes down to a tense fight the dagger gets dropped for what already worked. Either make the dagger do as much potential damage as the blunder, make sniper do less damage on medium range or remove the blunder's ability to one-shot.

You get 5 but you can pick up missed shots off the ground/wall/etc. and refill them the same as bullets.

Same exact system as bullets the only difference is you can pick up the last set of daggers you threw.

Using the heavy stab into a tight group of skellies can take all them out like a sword lunge

Considering that I pretty much quit hourglass since I don't have much time to play anymore, anything goes in adventure lol. I've just been running both of the new weapons and trying to trickstab people with the knife for fun.

My aim is not good in any game so I dont know if I am gonna use this knife thing gonna stick to the sword for the time being.

I have been running sword knifes recently, and switching my sword for a blunderbuss for ladder guarding. I really enjoy the new weapon, though I will still switch to guns when needed, plus the sword still has the superior mobility and easy to clear large swathes of enemies.

It's also just better for PVE than any of the new weapons. You can sword dash across big clumps of enemies and clear them out fast. Dagger charge can somewhat do something similar but not as effective (or satisfying imo) But I will say, backstabbing with the charge attack using dagger feels like it takes down bosses REAL fast.

My favorite weapon is Blunder buss because it is the only one shot weapon in the game. Which if use correctly can be in my opinion the most deadly weapon and in most cases if it doesn’t one shot it Knocks your opponent back which is really good because if your on a boat fighting someone you could knock them off. Overall the blunderbuss is the most unique versatile and powerful weapon in sea of thieves. Gamer tag: north bendr

Still sticking with Sword and Eye of Reach for the time being! I don't think I'll ever be able to forgo the solid close range damage and utility of the Sword Dash, and long range snipes with the Eye of Reach will never not be satisfying. Eye of Reach can shoot long range and close range. All you get wjth daggers is less damage, slower projectile and no range.

@@nordnord1004 75% Still, if you can quickscope well enough it's still significantly better than having to charge up the dagger AND you have it's long-range capabilities. I said it before, if Rare wants to shake things up they're just going to have to break the EoR and Blundie's knee caps and nerf them, they can keep brushing the problem under the rug as much as they want, half a decade of doing so and it won't go away.

My favourite weapon (for now) is the sword. Its just the old reliable for skeletons and I love the lunge for getting back to the ship quickly. Draakmeester

I always switch between guns on the fly but usually I’m using blunder and the eye of reach but I will swap the eye for throwing knives from time to time it’s a learning curve but you get those down your getting super quick kills! I recommend jumping in the water and using them that way you get used to the range and people are slower swimming :)

Cutlass and Flintlock has always been my go to, easy to use, fast, and consistent. Throwing knives are always a fun weapon in games though. TheWhyEld

Favorite weapons we always be eye of reach and blunderbuss combo at least for pvp, other wise dagger and double barrel pistal for skelly forts. I will love to have the gilded Phoenix ship set to match my sword, eye of reach, pistal, and blunder guilded pheonix weapons

Ferryman’s cutlass. You had to preorder a board game or something to unlock the full ferryman’s pack including the cutlass.

I've been wiping entire brig crews with ease using Dagger/Sniper. Blunder/Sniper is the meta aboard tiny sloops Dagger/Sniper is the Brig meta Pistol/Sniper is the meta on galleons + land

My favorite weapon combo is pistol blunder because u can 1 blonder them and if that doesn’t work just hit them with ur pistol cus it is pretty easy to aim woth

Throwing knife is the best by far. I’ve been rocking the eye of reach / knife combo . Hitting misfit shots are so hard but so rewarding when u hit them with both- terbium sot

I’m newish so I’ve been really digging the knives since they sort of released shortly after ps5, but knives and blunderbuss are currently a lot of fun with the PvP scene seeming like it focuses heavily on boarding and blunderbuss just knocking boarders right out of the park. I’m Jagadhatri, btw abd, while I’m sure you’re out of stuff to give away, I thought I’d try my luck anyway lol.

I’ve been using the knife quite a bit recently as I found a tech that lets you essentially one shot somebody if you can pull it off, I know rare is probably gonna patch it out, since it is inherently a bug, but I think it gives the knife a unique niche and since the tech requires you to be in stabbing range I feel like it’s relatively balanced as it rewards players who spend the time to master it with a weapon somewhat in between the blunder and sniper, as even with the tech it doesn’t one shot as well as a blunder but to compensate you have a lot more range then blunder.

You can use them both, thats what I've been thinking about doing. It feels to me like throwing daggers is much faster than reloading a flintlock, eye of reach or a blunderbuss. I might be wrong on that, I don't know. But if they are truly faster, then I think thats a massive upside. Throwing one of your daggers and then quickly following with another can be devastating, they might not be able to heal in time. I have not had the chance to test them on players.

another thing to note about the Dagger is that, unlike the other ranged weapons, there is no reload you have to wait through. So you can throw a dagger, reposition, and throw another without accidentally interrupting a reload animation halfway through. Personally, I've switched to the Dagger Sword as the Dagger can be used as a slightly shorter range Flintlock, and a slightly weaker Blunder with the heavy stab

I feel like that's why the throwing dagger has an arch when you throw it since they had to balance out the lack of a reload animation

Difference is that flintlock can be quickly hip fired accurately in medium range. Dagger requires a second to get in position to throw.

Knives also stay wherever you throw them for 15 minutes before despawning. So you can throw 5 (or more if you have teammates) next to your ladders, then switch to other weapons. This will allow you to throw them as fast as an enemy would. Great strat for boarder defense.

Randos and I (open crew) actually put knives around the anchor in HG and managed to trick boarders into picking up the daggers instead of dropping anchor, saved our life twice. Sadly it turned out we just got lucky the one time and it's very hard to replicate. I got a theory that it mainly works if you put the daggers on the anchor while you're underwater waiting for a match.

Sniper got better considering most players are preoccupied with short range weapons

Ive always used the sword for its close range and mid range lunge but now the knives kinda cover that but still have ammo, so i use both lol. I like the Eye of Reach for gameplay reasons, but also for unexpected flavor, like how they made a sniper work in a pirate game with the crack in the scope and all the skins that come with it, one of my favorites being the one with the bottle SarahFortune529

I feel the knives are so nice to have for PvE. The have stab clears a decent amount of skellies in front of you, and if you repeatedly heavy stab, there is a sweet spot to make it stab faster for full damage. It has made bosses at forts go down very, very quickly while roleplaying as the spy from TF2

I have always gravitated more towards sword & pistol. I somehow prefer faster reload than Eye of Reach, and the fact that you can hipfire. Knives are fun and all, but they lack the range of a pistol for getting people off the cannon line when in naval. But lets be honest, reality of SoT is that every weapon combo has ups and downs and if you want to be ready in any situation, you have to swap your weapons as situations dictate. P.S. I agree, as I'm already using it with a sword and find it extremally effective. though suffice to say, I haven't actually used it for pvp, just pve, reason is because I suck at pvp, like 3-5 minutes in a pvp fight and me and my ship is down

Double Barrel Pistol's great for PVE since it's six shots capable of one-shotting a skelly.

I strongly doubt the knives will change the meta, there is nothing about them that is nearly as powerful as the blunderbuss' one-shot ability and the eye of reach's unbeatable ranged damage and reliability.

It looks like to me that throwing one dagger after the other is much faster than a full reload of any of the other weapons, I might be wrong on that though. But if they are faster then that means you can hit the opponent without them having much time to heal or close the gap. Rocking a cutlass aswell will be of help since it doesn't require ammo, and it can block if someone also is using a cutlass. You will basically have a weapon that doesn't need ammo whilst still having the benefits of double-gunning, that being the fast rate of fire. Plus if the heavy attack on dagger does more damage then it can also be used to stealthy attack someone. I am unsure about all of that since I haven't tested it on players yet but it looks promising.

It could become meta if there nerfed the fuckin blunder and eye of reach or made it where you can not equip 2 guns and a forced to have a sword

I think you should just use your normal load out and let the enemy stock your ammo without taking a slot

cutlass, mobility wise in and out of fight puts it above other weapons for me.

Nah the throwing knife sucks it’s too hard to hit. It should deal more damage or have a heavy stun to make up for its difficulty otherwise just use eye of reach.

If you can land the shots it’s worth using. I’ve been practicing it and have gotten way faster kills then using blunder snipe. I’ve played arena and have gotten the master of arms title so I think these knifes are amazing rn so JUST PRACTICE

To you maybe, but anything new to the sandbox should be appreciated. The throwing knife really spiced things up for me. I don't personally care about the meta, all that matters to me is fun, and the new weapons and tools are just that.

@@stefanomartino2539 yes, only good to use this Is on skelletons, left click deals 0 dmg + 0 stagger so every swordlord will kill you in seconds, Its slow af, you Are slower when aiming there Is no reason why you should be slow, there Is no dash + you cant defend yourself. Charged attack should do 100% dmg in the back, but no, deals 80 So you need to hit them twice with leftclick. Time to kill Its not worth costing your combo where you can kill players in seconds.

The knifes are awesome and I cannot wait to get to grips with how to use it correctly. I love to try and trickshot, so they are a great addition to my play style. But until I conquer the throwing knifes. My all time favorite has to be the sniper. The satisfaction of hitting a nice snipe is awesome. When my throwing knife skills improve, maybe then it will take the snipers place. Danksy97
