Ironically, if Eren did say the name of the show by the end, it's referring to himself xD The original title "Shingeki no Kyojin" refers to his titan, the "Titan of Attack" or simple the "Attack Titan."

This show is like comparing buttered popcorn to a wagyu steak, like I love the Wagyu steak but after a meal I'm done for a bit and need time to enjoy and settle the meal. But the popcorn? I'm shove that shit in my gullet, want more and never let it stop flowing. FR I loved a ton of anime last year but one I'm looking forward to more most is Eminence in Shadow. It's so dumb It's perfect.

@@danielantony1882 Honestly, the only time I genuinely thought "Man, this is actually really deep in a way" was when Sid was explaining to that scientist man that was a foster dad of the scientist girl his views. How he understand that "growing up means to let go of your dreams to live in reality" while he "kept cutting things off in order to live his dream" It made me realize how actually twisted he had to be to do this whole play pretend act, getting strong to inhuman levels, commiting crime after crime, downright killing people (bandits) and using orphans to further his play.

If you watch Gigguk's best of anime 2023, he actually has Eminence in Shadow in there. So Gigguk unironically holds it in high regard.

You are making stuff up, if you think they are speaking for everyone else. And there's both objective and subjective reasons to consider this the best Isekai that you don't have to agree with. In terms of power-fantasy, it's just the best written, and it's not hard to see why, if you pay close attention. And there's a decent amount of things about this story that make it great, which isn't just the power fantasy. Just because you didn't get those, it's not an excuse or a justification to be frustrated at someone else for getting it. Like, sure, I personally consider Attack on Titan's plot wack, but I'm not gonna claim that it's not subjectively and objectively the best, because I don't know anything about it asides from the basic stuff that my brother told me about it. Your statement that Eminence is not the best, neither objectively nor subjectively, is simply absurdistic absolutist fallacy based on you, thinking that your opinion is the most correct.

So I have right to judge it ... but You cannot judge a anime without seeing (like You're saying abt AOT). Not the greatest anime or story, not really an amazing world building or character development but damn this is a good watch and good content reaction. This is the type of anime that people could watch 30 reaction channels about it and never get bored

Yes Eminence in Shadow is definitely "Bad Isekai" but it's extremely entertaining and the show embraces the edginess and horniness to its advantage. Definitely a must watch Isekai, you won't recover from Shadow saying "I am Atomic"

Talking about Isekai I thought about the anime 'Mondaiji-tachi' or 'Problem Children'. As for the anime, it's mediocre except that when you get to the middle of the episode the story suddenly becomes heavy and I didn't even understand it after watching the last episode. Because I was curious I tried reading the LN and I didn't expect to find this hidden gem. I like the conflict, plot, lore and characters in this series which are well written. Each character has its own stage, even side characters which are rarely presented in the Isekai genre. As for the MC in this series, he actually isn't op because in [Little Garden] there are many creatures whose powers don't make sense, for example Azi Dahaka, Demon King digit-3. Izayoi even lost badly and was almost dying with his bones shattered and his stomach having a hole in it when Azi's claws pierced him and all his muscles were crushed like chopped meat but by good luck Izayoi was able to escape after help arrived.

PREWATCHED

For me, Isekai is only good when the characters are relatable and tells a unique story. In other words the common tropes such as characters being OP, having harems, defeats all the bad guys without sweating are like watching Superman. He's a character you wish you could be, but can never achieve such a feat. Characters like Subaru are relatable because they have challenges they need to overcome. And stories like Mushoku Tensei are unique in the fact that there is no overall goal. It's just Rudeus living though everyday life in the Isekai. I'd like to call out a couple of anime that are great examples of Isekai story telling. "Fluffy Paradise" and "The Weakest Tamer Began A Journey To Pick Up Trash."

Actually watch the show, its a fun watch, and i bet its going to be overall a good time
