I have a c500 with the v10 condition rolls. Mine had the same vibration when it showed up, we used 3/4” 3M double sided tape and it quieted right down. The quick change knives are nice and the tool works pretty decent just don’t lose the damn thing. I’ve got a late model 956 also and I’d say the 500 is a little slicker tool. I run my heads tilted back more than most and we cut fast, no stopping or slowing down. Running the 500 with a 6250R IVT and it’s a match made in heaven. Congrats you will be happy once it’s all figured out.

Once you get the hang of that thing you will plain fly. I’d still go 6 passes around , with my 13 ft Center pivot mowing combo I just barely run over the outside windrow doing 6 passes( that’s working from one side of the field to the other). I like pushing forward or down for pivoting to the right and pulling back or up for pivoting left. Hard work always pays off!!

I have cut thousands and thousands of acres with jd mocos. My biggest advice is tilt the head all the way down and use the skid shoes to get ur desired cut height. That's where they cut the best. Only roll the head back if you know there's rocks as it is more forgiving that way. Also as others have said 6 headlands and swing it back and fourth. Sometimes deeres lay a heavy strip in the middle of the swath and it messes with ur dry down, the fix to that is changing the rotation of the middle 2 turtles. Anyway awesome purchase and let me know if you have any questions.

That shield vibrating that not good like you say maybe you can put a couple bolts in place that will look neat and hold better. The foam thing may hold moisture and in time start rusting. Great new machine have fun. Have a good day.

That's a nice mower, looks similar to our 835 moco. If it's anything like ours when you run header tilt all the way tilted forward it will really scalp your fields. We had to move the skids to the highest position to help with that issue. Good luck with it

I always have thought you could use a bigger windrower. I know you hate doing something new but if you start cutting on one side of the field and swing the head side to side coming right back beside your previous pass will save you a lot of time. Once you get on to it, it's pretty easy.

Hello Ben; Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! When you get comfortable with the machine and use the swing going back and forth, how much the acres per hr. will increase. Went from a 12’ rigid frame (IH 1290) in the 70s/80s to a 14’ Owatonna swing frame (model 235) 80s/90s. Acres per hr. almost doubled even going slower because of slower sickle speed (1500+ down to 1350), strokes per min. Splitting odd shaped fields and driving on head land’s wastes a lot of mowing time. Mowing on the left takes a little time to get used to. Quality dry hay is made when the sun is shining. ☀️ 😎 👨🏻🦳 🐄 (🍻days end)
