I hope we can get a good open world game where you can play as invincible go through a version of his origin story and grow with the character as he gets stronger and combat like the avengers, spider man, or Arkham games

I find the idea of a AAA game needing crowd funding a little odd and definitely a bit sketchy.

Avengers as a live service does make sense the problem was that square enix severely mismanaged that game they should have made Avengers like ultimate alliance and not a live service game

For me the best thing for am Invincible game is a Story driven solo open world game with an invasion system where a player can join your game as a viltrumite or even omni man even if just viltrumites makes more sense story wise and try to kill you like the night hunter in DL and the hackers in watchdogs(even if they dont kill you) and make it the only multiplayer thing in the game or make a 1v1 arena too

Games as a Service scares me. But it could be worse... it could be a NFT game.

It's important to note that Games as a Service (GaaS) is NOT the same as Live Service, GaaS refers more broadly to games that get expansions, Live Service more specifically refers to games like Fortnite or Suicide Squad

I doubt they’re gonna do this but I’ve always wanted a superhero game that you can fly through buildings in the city and destroy them like in the tear down game but without the pixel graphics. We probably won’t get a game like that anytime soon but if this invincible game ends up doing that and it’s not laggy then I’m instantly buying. It would be cool to if in the game if you cause a bunch of mayhem in the city then the guardians of the globe will come to try and stop you and you can fight them😁

I was in the live the other week where the social media tt account was asking what ideas we’d want for a game

OK when I heard life service, I immediately thought terrible but there is one plus to it if they are going a more live service route that basically says that it’s probably gonna play like an avengers Spider-Man Arkham Batman type beat them up with some extent of an open area to explore so that’s the only exciting thing about it if it does flop at least we would get to see the invincible universe in gameplay

Jumping into a full AAA game feels a bit too ambitious for Invincible right now and perhaps scaling back exceptions and costs could allow for a AA game to made instead. If that’s successful and people know there’s an interest in the idea than they can make it bigger for the follow up

I don't think the money they fundraised from here does represent the full budget though. I mean I assume Skybound made a lot of money from Invincible and Walking Dead. I don't think they would be fully dependent on a fundraising campaign. I mean I don't think they will have a massive budget but they probably got a bit more money for this game.

people developing superhero AAA games should look to ArkhamVerse and InsomniacVerse, have the first one simple yet packed and move on to develop with huge budgets with sequels

the easy route to making this is making it a overwatch clone.

I will say this once and ill say it multiple times "Live-Service is a bane in the video game industry".

30 people is pretty small, but given that a game like Megaton Rainfall had only 1 developer, it depends who those 30 people are. It's the possible live service aspect that has me the most concerned.

So they pulled people from the worst studios not to mention they still havent been able to make a good aaa walking dead game so this is GURENTEED to be crap

They probably couldnt get any investors or shareholders to fund it

I think it would be cool if it was like DBZ kakarot, where it was just the show, or the comics story, but you play it instead of watching/reading it

why cant they just make it a single player story to begin with and then later release an option to play the live service part so sort of like an online offline mode so that way we could still get the story and stuff we want and the smooth experience and then if we want to mess around with the jankie online lag we could then do that as well.

Games as a service is not the same thing as live service. Games as a service just means it will be supported for years to come with added dlc and season pass. Live service is always online plus all that other stuff. It was stated this game would have an online component, but not be all online. It's not going to be live serivce.

I basically wrote it off in my head the moment I heard triple A. Itll most likely be some game that is $90 canadian at launch and then nickels and dimes ya for more and more. Invincible Is my favorite thing out there right now but I highly doubt ill even try it but we'll see

Model if that even makes sense I know fortnite is completely separate but I should have used a better analogy . If it's going to be multiplayer I'd like to see something along the lines of helldivers cuz I keep hearing that it's a great game although I should play helldivers for myself

The company making the game is led by Robert KirkMan, the creator of the invincible comics and tv show, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I don't like the crowdfunding idea but apparently skybound is part owned by Robert Kirkman so I am intrigued by it but gonna wait till I see it not paying for a promise I made that mistake with the battlefront collection

If I learnt anything from games in the last decade. Dom't get your hopes up...

What kind of game is this? Third person action? Fighting Game? Cause having competitive multiplayer in a game where the lead character is a brawler sounds questionable to me unless its a fighting game.

I've only backed 1 game: Bloodstained Ritual of The Night. But that's because I trusted the man behind it, Koji Igarashi, as a long time Castlevania fan. But I think I'm good on this one, idk how they expect a AAA budget from crowdfunding, I think they're out of their depth

I like the IP but it really sounds like they're trying to build a vehicle to extract money from fans as opposed to building a game that will be fun to play. Most people are sick to death of needing to pay $70 up front to install, then another $50-$100 to unlock all game modes and features, followed by the monthly $20-$40 battle pass, in addition to the $100 annual expansion, as well as the $60 skins that appear in pop-ups every time you hit a loading screen. The fact that their crowdfunding isnt bringing in the $ is not surprising at all. Every time any developer gets paid before the game launches for the last decade the game has been ass. There is also a non-zero chance that SBI or any of their perverse ilk will get their claws into it and ruin it like every other thing they've touched. Not a lot of good faith left with which to deal in the gaming sphere. I hope it'll be another Helldiver 2 but I really think itll be basically a reskin of Spiderman2, complete with the shoehorned agenda.

Why is there a minimum investment. I was gonna Spare like 10 bucks but i def cant afford a $100 minimum to donate.

give it the borderlands art style and make it similar to dbz kakarot,god of war and the Arkham games and you should be good

Not gonna lie. This sounds ambitious and huge if they pull it off I see them going the fortnite route with this and I think it will work. People are too quick to turn their heads when they hear live service but at the same time are playing live service games. I really hope this works out the possibilities are limitless. A game that all types of gamers can play sounds like a roblox type game I'm in I really hope this works.

Making people pay for a game that isn’t even made yet and then having to pay for the game again when/ if it ever comes out is never going to work out. This is just a quick money making scheme and they’re just going to take the money and run. Like that Star Citizen rubbish

SPOILERS!!!! Honestly I could see invincible becoming a huge game if done right, multiplayer and online would be awesome, let everyone become their own mark make their own choices the same as other dimensions and when you encounter angstrom for the second time in the story allow multiplayer from that point either making him a companion, a prisoner or using he’s power via a portal gun to allow invading other universes, yes it will require alot of work but with new consoles and PCs coming out so frequently this game could be a co-op experience/single player with multiplayer aspects, maybe making it so you can randomly be dragged in a universe when angstrom attacks

They said they raised 18 million from investors outside of this fundraiser, you forgot that man. Half a mil wont even fund a mobile game.

Here's my problem with it if you're going to make a live service game don't and I repeat don't make it playable characters make it character creator as in create your own character because I just think playable characters are going to get old really fast especially depending on what playable characters are there unless they make it like marvel's spider-man 2 and not a live service game then it might last long and do really great but playable characters to me in a live service just gets old and it's unfun and there's just something special with creating your own character that's unique to me and immerse especially being in any kind of superhero universe that we know of and enjoy makes it all fun fantastic and the best and it also depends on the playstyle and I hope they lean on pve more rather than pvp because I'm more interested in exploring and interacting in a superhero universe rather than fight other people online if they revolve their game around that then I feel it will loose it's attraction of the game despite what everybody saids they could make it open world like marvel's spider-man 2 and character creator then I think it last really long
