The first thing I ver drove was a Ford Jubilee on my grandfathers farm when I was about 10. I learned the location of every grease fitting and how to grease them. I learned how to check the other maintenance items and the proper operation. Of the tractor. Those were great times for me. Captain Jack was a no nonsense farmer that had three ways to do things - the right way, the wrong way and his way, rules I still follow to this day. Grandpa had other tractors but the jubilee was always my favorite.

I never knew Jubilees' had an option for live PTO. Never seen one that I can remember. We had an 801 with live pto with the 5 spd transmission.

4:28 when our tractors could actually mow a tall crop of grass/weeds without slogging the engine. Today, a John Deere garden tractor struggles with 5 inches of grass. 🤣🤣🤣 boy do I miss the days when we built equipment that actually worked, and never needed these high tech computers or various buttons, just two or three levers, one clutch, one PTO, two independent brake pedals, and we called it a tractor!

@MangoSmoothie16, Ford Motor Company acquired New Holland during the 1980s. The combined company is now part of CNH-Fiat Industrial.

Manual steering is a *pain* if you aren't moving, especially if you have a lot of weight on the front tires... Believe me, it's almost too small.

Yes, it is a blatant copy and infringed on many Ferguson patents. Of special note and visible in the video are bothe the front axle and steering design and the Ferguson System three point hydraulic hitch with top link sensing draft control.

Do you mean Fordson? The Fordson Major was a mostly British built diesel model with a lot of Ford architecture. I think Massey Ferguson partnered with Ford for a short time, way before this model though...

  • @bduff007

Ford doesnt make tractors because thery were deemed unprofitable. Ford bought New Holland in 1986 or 1987, the entire division was sold to New Holland in 1992 then to Case IH, then to Fiat, now Case New Holand global (CNH) Fiat subsidary. 1996 all ford names were gone, 2000 all ford colors and patents were gone.

@Mike England saw a first gen 4000 get an in-frame rebuild in the driveway in the 70s. Had to buy new headbolts, they kept snapping before coming to torque spec. Ran awesome after that. It was pretty much the same tractor as this. Definitely the workhorse of that smallish farm.
