It depends on where you're going in Tagaytay. If you're going to Skyranch, Nasugbu, Amadeo, Mendez or Alfonso, this is the better route to take. But if you're going to Picnic Grove, Highlands or Crosswinds, forget this route and take Sta. Rosa Exit then left at Kaykulot Bridge.

Excellent travail video

If you take the Sta Rosa exit to traverse your way to Tagaytay City, you're making a huge mistake. There's a merge/choke point (a lot of it) along the way to Tagaytay Public Market and you'll be stuck in heavy traffic. Might take you an hour or more to reach Tagaytay City. Just follow the road as shown here if going to Tagaytay City. It's faster.

Mas ok parin sta rosa silang na way pa tagaytay kung weekdays walang traik, iwasan mo lang 6 to 7 pm medyo may trapik pa rin pero kung tanghali ka gang 4 pm or 8 pm ka ba byahe pa akyat nako luwag ng daan. Alam ko kasi taga sta rosa ako and halos everyday kami naakyat

there’s an incremental 8km, plus extra time corresponding, from calax starosa exit to calax Aguinaldo exit, if you go this route. But I’d exit Calax Sta Rosa If you’re going only to Tagaytay. The beauty of alternatives are obvious though, kudos man. Great map!

I love CALAX! First discovered it during 2020 at the height of the pandemic… had been stuck at home for months and our first time to go on a road trip was via the new CALAX… Amazing clear blue skies and puffy white clouds rejuvenated our weary souls. ( in your video , it’s a shame it was cloudy) . We just toured around Nuvali, then ordered Bulalo and food for take out to eat at home, then drove back home without going down (except for the ordering of food) 😂 and enjoyed the view once more. It’s like driving abroad. Been using CALAX ever since to go to Nuvali or Tagaytay

I like calax too

Thank you for the ride its a nice scenic view of the CALAX highway. My concern is the Aguinaldo highway seems to be shrinking every few years. I remember back then there were only a few houses and businesses there, but now it's becoming congested. And another concerning matter is there is no proper sidewalk and parking for cars, it might not be an issue now but that will become an issue years down the road. And the CALAX would have been for nothing if the LGUs aren't building proper sidewalks and enforcing strict parking laws. We could be facing slow paced traffic movement along the Silang portion of the Aguinaldo highway going to Tagaytay.

CALAX to Sta Rosa was a game changer bec traffic from Sta Rosa Slex exit to Nuvali area is always horrible. Bypassing that straight to Nuvali area then heading to Tagaytay is ok when it’s not holidays or weekends. But lately due to road construction for MONTHS now there’s a bottleneck that causes heavy traffic. And the problem also are slooow cars or vans and tricycles especially when 2 of these slow vehicles are side by side 🙄 (on 2 lane areas) and you can’t even overtake them. There’s no “fast lane”.

I hardly recognized my house along the hi-way its been 6 years since i went home and a lot of changes happen i didn’t notice the landmark near my house a lot of commerce going on.

Para sa akin po, kung hindi weekends much better to take sta rosa exit. Pero kung traffic like weekends, much better po ang silang exit. Aguinaldo Exit for me is recommended kung papunta ka ng Dasma.

Was that a Ferrari in front of you at the toll booth? Nice here in PH. But only out there in Luzon where that car could be driven. Anywhere else in PH would be a torture. Btw, nice roadways.

My rumor in Commuting is Buses going to Manila will use CALAX as Express Route with Likes of DLTBCo in which via Caromona route. Hopefully it will use CALAX

Best to avoid Aguinaldo / Cavite. Cavite yun e. Enjoy the more scenic route and take Sta. Rosa exit. Traffic naman kahit saan kung tinanghali ang byahe.

Dapat may stoplight in the future sa kanto ng CALAX at Aguinaldo Highway. Medyo mabibilis din minsan mga sasakyan diyan eh.

Oh wait... I thought it already passed Silang Proper below. I guess it's located above the town.

@@TourFromHomeTV Thanks! I live in Greenfield City near Eton exit. We’d normally take the Santa Rosa-Tagaytay road going up. Good to know how long this route takes especially on a work/week day. Btw, would you happen to know the time it took you from Laguna Boulevard interchange up to Tagaytay Rotonda? Thanks.

Did i see a ferarri at the start

Didn't finish the video but noticed that the pavement was accomplished with just concrete similar to other so-called completed projects. This new route could be more comfortable for passengers and also be regarded as world-class if only they considered the pavement finish using asphalt materials.
