Yes, Brooke only shaped their dream and kept them on track, they advocated and planned and aspired and worked on their own. From age 12. It's incredible.

I actually shed a tear when I watch the younger versions of them. These young black men are so talented they really did well with the casting. Caleb (Ricky) really was my favorite he killed “holding on”.

My husband and I said the same thing!!

The person in charge of casting did an excellent job. The actors had great chemistry and it shows.

He looked at Bobby when he said don't try to outshine everyone else, great foreshadow with what we already know happened.

They had three leads at the time. There's always a blessing and a curse to having so much talent in one group. The blessing is the diversity in songs and artistic expression, not to mention the ladies who choose their favorites. Friendly Competition is good, but competitive resentment, and jealousy can ruin a group because no one wants to be The public announcement for R.Kelly. The good thing is they grew up together and are like family, unlike let's say An Envogue who couldn't get past their differences.

I love this group since I was 11 . My generation. Love it so. I loved the whole group. But I had the crush on Ronnie Devoe. I love him the best. Just my pick. Love this movie.

Can we talk about Caleb for a second because his acting was phenomenal. He really took his character in the right direction and the directors definitely did a good job letting him showcase his singing talent before Ralph became known as the lead singer. I think Caleb should’ve gotten more roles that had singing in it because he really has talent and I wish he could do more roles like that.

His name is Jahi Winston and he is now 17 years old! He has actually played in a few other movies since the New Edition movie, one being Proud Mary with Taraji Henson. For more info on Jahi you can find him on Instagram @jahiwinston Also I'm gonna post a KZread video link of Jahi at a concert singing live on stage with the real Ralph Tresvant. It must have brought back good memories for Ralph when he was young because Ralph actually cried.

This movie, Ray, The Temptations, & Jackson’s American Dream show how PHENOMENAL a biographical movie can be when A. The stars have a part in the writing and casting of the script and B. When they’re not afraid to tell the unadulterated TRUTH no matter how ugly or beautiful it may be ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I’m genuinely surprised this docu series didn’t get nominated for any emmys or golden globes or let alone win anything 🙄 the actors did what had to be done and the show kept my attention.

@Mz Thompsun mz thompson that idea you have can be manifested by yourself and its cheap you can go live and have a virtual vote by registered members and you can charge (once it gains momentum) corporate followers to advertise on your platform. Its fairly cheap in 2021.

Exactly. But are we really surprised though? 😒 It’s because they’re black and just like other great films with predominantly black cast or about black people, they’re sort of categorized as just “black films” rather than just “great films” by white Hollywood Press and white Hollywood.

This now a classic in the culture 🙏🏽

I love movies like this because it remind me of how kids played together and looked out for each other.

I don’t see a lot of people mentioning Ralph’s sister as much she pushed them to actual put the effort into this talent show stuff and make it bigger. She put them into brook and said that if this a dream or something they want take it seriously.

According to this movie if it wasn't for the young lady that was with Brook when they first met New Edition would've never happened. She liked them & her reaction sparked Brook to at least give them a shot.

New Edition demonstrates what paying your dues, strong work ethic and supportive family look like.

The transition from kids to adults is one of my favorite parts

i could literally watch this everyday for the rest of my life. i never miss a day. they're so inspiring , especially considering the fact that I've always loved dancing and I've always made up dance routines and loved learning full dances. i watch this so much I've learned the dances to "holding on" and "the love you save"

The young guy singing the lead on the Jeffery Osborne LTD song sounds SO good! His voice is amazing!

Bobby Brown was stage shy when he started off and then became bold and out of his shell.

I was shocked to see that too. seems like its been just 2 yrs at most.

The acting, the writing, the appearance resemblance of the characters, the script, the music....SPOT ON! Excellent!

That transition when they got older was some of the greatest directing I’ve seen

The New Edition Story deserves ALL the awards. It's so good! I was just watching this on Paramount + but I'm glad to see it's up on KZread too. I wished they had released this in DVD format. I want to own it.

@@supotnabaog after long hours of research and a KZread comment that was posted on this video, the song at 7:21 isn’t the original song. The song here was by the untouchables in the movie, can’t find this song anywhere but however the original song is called “ Spell “ by Blue Magic. You can hear the similarities. The song in the movie sung by the untouchables is their own version.

New Edition is 1 of The best groups that cherish & having all of their songs & the best classic Throwbacks Songs over the years & Michael Jackson is so popular round this time as well, but Michael Jackson is definitely#1 & he will always have my heart my always. I don’t believe he would have gotten as far as he did. So many solo artists in the early 80’s. I would have thought Telvin Cambel( can’t spell it at the moment) career would have taken off with Quincy Jones bringing him into the forefront. And of course look at Johnny Gil. His first label didn’t know how to market him correctly. Ralph may have lasted maybe 3 or 4 years and fade away from the airwaves and dropped from his label.

Just watched this and the Bobby movie back to back like i haven't seen it before 😂 such great movies I can't get enough and I missed it. I think I'll watch it again. Been a New Edition fan since I was a kid. Born in 83 so yeah they are some favorites

I'm glad new edition getting the recognition they deserve after all they went through.

"If It Isn't Love" why do I feel this way? There aren't many true biography movies that I go crazy about but The New Edition Story is one that I will watch over & over. The whole effort to bring this together is appreciated. This is a staple and for the actors to be able to experience living legends and learn what they went through & did for our culture to tribute New Edition's success singing and dancing all of their classic hits is legendary. They deserved something that was going to represent them in the best way. Loved. 🖤👑💋💯

That's what I'm saying, the Casting was 100 percent on point !! They still be looking over black movies !! But this should've gotten several awards!!! Great memories!!!

The two of them singing Earth Wind and Fire to a girl in a playground is just everything 😂

One of the best Biopics I've ever seen. All the members told their story, that rarely happens. The accuracy was definitely there. I'm not good with names but all the people involved were wonderful. Thanks for delivering a beautiful story.

@Rakia Withers ...actually Bobby Brown said in an interview that his character wasn’t portrayed 💯 correctly. The group saw him in this light & he says he felt it was exaggerated. But to keep peace, he allowed them to have their way

Accuracy was not there. They forgot NE's original members. Travis, Corey & Giovanni. Travis actually started the group and brought in Brooke to be the choreographer.

@@CleanMusicLover229 I believe you. I think most biopics aren’t 💯 accurate, maybe to avoid lawsuits. If u watched the Temptations biopic & read their biography book (like I did), they definitely changed a lot of details.

New Edition is and will always be the best musical group that we've ever had. Since they have come of age, I wish and pray that the unity be always there. I luv this group.....
