I've visited cagliari 4 times now and boy does this stadium need to happen. I joke it brings prosperity to sardinia

Fuckin hell! This definitely looks like one of the most modern &futuristic looking smaller stadiums in the best European leagues. Plus, if Cagliari truly continue to develop in quality, the way they're doing this year (but let's NOT forget their 3 key players are there on loan: Ninja, Poulsen, Simeone), it'll be extraordinary for the whole of Sardinia. I know they initially announced it for 2021, and now delayed it for 2024... let's hope we;ll truly see Cadliari play on it, on full stands

I don't understand the bureaucratic nature of Italy because surely having modern stadiums and facilities that can be used all year round is beneficial not only for the local neighbourhood but so for the city, especially when the team performs well which attracts more sponsors and business, and as a result more income for the local people??

Currently the stadiums for lots of clubs in italy are owned by the city, and they rent out the stadiums to the clubs. If the city allows a new private stadium, they will no longer receive money for renting the old one out as it will be unused and demolished. Problem is the local politicians are the ones who decide whether the new stadium goes ahead or not, and they will look after their own interest first by blocking the new stadium to keep the rent from these old shitty stadiums

It's really a SHAME that Cagliari also joined the huge number of Italian clubs that only shouted and boasted about starting a new stadium, yet, nothing happened with it as well! I was probably naive to think that Cagliari will be any different than 90% of the Serie A teams! Maybe the reasons were that Cagliari new stadium is outside the city, or rather, on the skirts of it, so they don't have to worry about the laws regarding the specific architecture, and that they'll have no problems building this modern arena, that has a classic Milenium appearance - it won't be a contrast to the town's old, historic architecture! Also But, as the things appear to be, we're looking at the same situation like Roma,. Fiorentina, Bologna, Hellas Verona, Napoli... NOTHING! It won't happen any time soon! It doesn't matter that it's one of the best projects! The look of the stadium (especially the swimming pools at the top of it), the great capacity of 25K, the perfect location... NOTHING TRULY MATTERS! They are just finding new excuses why they're not doing a damn thing! Therefore, one more HUGE RESPECT to Atalanta, who are proving to be THE ONLY ITALIAN TEAM that's getting the job done! And for cagliari... a pitty! You should be ASHAMED for lying to your own people and constantly coming up with new excuses why you can't even get the job started!

They had issues with the enterprise for the construction of the stadium. Just last week they finally approved the new plan and they will start building in 2022 (the old stadium is still there and they need to take down it). Then, it's not outside the city but in the old stadium's place, so that's why there is so much space :)

@@federicorona55 Yeah, I know that. And that shit you're mentioning now, it doesn't surprises me at all. When it comes to Italian bureaucracy, there's always something new, yet another thing that causes problems and asks for several approvements. So, until I actually see the groubworks starting, I won't believe it. And in Italy, even that's not a guarantee. Remember Comisso's case in Florence, a couple of months ago, when they even gathered for an officiall celebration, just to get another document the very next day, which postponed the start of the building again. Italy... If one manages to build a stadium there, he/she will be able to conquers the world!

@@federicorona55 A new plan?! Does that mean a new design for the stadium and we won't end up with this gorgeous one in the video? P.S. Nevertheless, until I see it happening, actual machines on the ground, working, demolishing old stuff,building new, I won't believe it! Cuz after all, this is Italy, and building a stadium, it\s the next closest thing to doing the impossible, like touching the sky or something!

@@federicorona55 Well, the old stadium is also outside the city center, close to the shore... but regardless of that, again, we keep on hearing they had some issues with this or that... I mean, look at the Spanish teams, and no others, but the biggest projects of them all, Real & Barca, are starting to revamp their stadiums, whilst in Italy, the time stands still! We;ll never get to see the great Serie A teams, like Roma, Fiorentina, Napoli, even Milan and Inter, play on beautiful and modern new arenas in our life time. Obviously! I mean, it's such a fucked up country, any excuse is way over board!

Vengo dal futuro e nel 2023 dei lavori non se ne vede neanche l'ombra.

I really DON'T KNOW & CAN'T UNDERSTAND why aren't they beginning with the ground work?! I mean, it was officially announced that everything's ready (with the permits from the city council, and all that other local political crap), and the way he FC Cagliari is starting this season (exactly as their president was saying - they will try to do the same things as Atalanta, and go, and fight there with the best 4-5 Serie A eams, for as higher position on the table as possible! And THIS SEASON, with Poulsen on the goal, THE Ninja as the leader of the players, and everyone else, we actually see that it's not just words, but that this team is truly working on creating a truly competitive squad, not just for one year, but for the each new season as they come! So, what about he new (beautiful) stadium,, which we'd seen should be ready by the year 2021 (latest), with a capacity of around 24K?!? And most importantly, a completely new look, owned by the Cagliari FC (which means a lot for the team, both financially, as well as for its image).... how come we're not seeing ground work taking place, as we saw in Bergamo? Look at what Atalanta did in only 5 months? They completely reconstructed the north stand, and will probably do it in the next (less than) 2 years, a complete work? And have a brand new, modern, strictly football stadium, that'll be full with 20+K visitors each round (as it should be in Cagliari, as well)! So... when will we see this CGI version taking place in real?! DON'T TELL me that it's gonna be just as the "New" Sampdoria stadium, or others similar?!

it is completely different from the atalanta ... the atalanta has restructured the old stadium, the cagliari instead has to raze the old stadium and build a completely new one, moreover they have to do with the stadium offices and shopping centers and therefore they are jobs that concern the whole neighborhood, the bureaucratic times are completely different ...moreover, time was lost because the current project was changed and the authorization was requested to go from 24k to 30k spectators ... however the jobs begin in 2020 and last 2 years...

We're still waiting news about this business. The bureaucracy Cagliari football team have been dealt with is a huge chain. Inside the project there is the renew of the entire saint Elia's borough. Not just a stadium. Anyway we believe in a chance to change our land and island soon (3/4 years)
