Two more advantages of the crossbow that you didnt mention is the fact that it is silent, and the fact that you can pick up your bolts, makes killing AI much faster and easier and you basically never run out of ammo.

Also In case the shot didn’t finish your victim, and you are in range, you can just walk up, shake your head, “Good bye”, and PULL THAT SHIT. Yeah that’s what I done one time in Quickplay

The Dolch is clearly not bought. It's contraband. He took that of a dude he shot with the crossbow. The crossbow goes with any pistol at least somewhat. Just loot whatever other people bring.

There's actually much more advantages.. One hitting Immolators (to the head) One hitting amoreds (to the head and pulling out the bolt) You can practice aiming by headshoting AI You can kill meat heads silently with 6 bolts (without pulling them out) or just hot him with 5 bolts and let a friend finish the meathead of with a single shot to earn XP for the weapon. You can kill almost every boss (except Assassin) earlisy. Just load them up with bolts even when they're in frenzy mode. Scrapbeak needs only 2 bolts and and 2 stabs with Knuckle Knife (or normal knife) and pulling out the 2 bolts to lose 1/4 of HP .... Ok I just stop cuz I'm bored but there's so many more.. I love the Crossbow:)

It's got a higher skill ceiling than most weapons in the game, most players go for easier weapons with easier results. In skilled hands, nothing else offers the utility and tactical advantage of the crossbow family.

I have always enjoyed using the crossbow. Sure, the reload sucks, but it is so satisfying getting a kill and getting your ammo back. I also had no idea that it had infinite headshot range, which is awesome!

Basically the Crossbow is fcking strong if you manage to hit. Another tipp: when using the normal Crossbow without skin the bolt shoots from the middle of the three iron sight things. When playing any other skin, the bolt shoots from a little lower from the single iron sight (the one sitting obove the others). I hope that was understandable xD

@@OnePoundFisch I tested it with a centered dot. When playing normal Crossbow (no skin) the dot was in the middle of the 3 iron sights (one left, one right and the one above) but when playing any other skin the dot was way higher right below the iron sight that is positioned above.

In my humble 800 hours in this game I've found out that to me personally, the most intimidating kind of player is the composed, patient, and calculated crossbow player.

Shotbolt and bolts are always a great combo but if im going cheap i usually stick to Romero or Springfield. White shirts don’t need perks to use them better.

Someone said it but for the comment numbers I’ll add, the crossbow is also near silent, and has near infinite ammo by picking up bolts. Downside would be learning curve. It’s not really a point and click weapon.

Crossbow is fun, but i like the penetration possibility of a shotgun, and the extra muzzle velocity.

although crossbow has infinite headshot range it very quickly gets to the point where you aim into the sky to get distance and you still won't make it. but its one of my favorite weapons in the game no less

tbh i was already a advocate of the crossbow, it is a pretty good alternative for those looking to change up from the romero. shotbolt is nice too and explosives also have some rather fun niche uses too.(just be wary of bullwark when using explosive, as it eats a lot of the dmg) good option in general.

Best budget load out is probably just a Winfield C, or if you really want two guns: a Springfield and a nagant (it’s not that bad)

Crossbow is fairly underrated. It's what has got me more QP wins than anything ever has. Even over any of the shotguns. It's a deadly weapon and also great utility. Edit: you ran one of my favorite loadouts. Crossbow w/ Dolch P. Very strong at close to medium range.

The crossbow has been my go to weapon after prestige for a long time. Cheap, effective and fun

I like to use crossbow in solo with combo traps. Rushing the boss, setting traps and killing boss extremely fast. I prefer to mix regular bolts and shotbolts for penetration and increased body shot distance.

That was my favourite solo loadout before the bow. Now I take mosin obrez mace with the bow and take flare traps for barrels as well instead of a melee weapon. I love it and certainly recommend it for trap enjoyers.

@@MadameRouzgar in my own experience crossbow is more effective in PvP. More often OHK and shotbolt definitely better than any bow arrows. But both loadouts very fun to play. Especially poison arrows with poison sense and Mosin ability to penetrate xD

Positioning is very key to successful crossbow play as well. I got to 5 stars with just crossbow and it took me over a year to figure out how to play it properly. Very different than any other weapon. Even the bow. Love them both though. Honestly only weapon I don’t like is mosin. I just cannot seem to grasp its iron sights.

@@jimdob6528 As i understand thrugh Rachta game, you should intiate the fights as much as you can, rather than corner-play or bushes. Cause every your shot is potentially oneshot. And you need to make trade shots situations, cause your arrow stronger than anything else in such case (except other one shot things as slugs or auto maybe) But also you need to fight with their baits of your arrow and improving your aim a lot.

the crossbow is a beast but often you miss easy shots. Aimpunch also often sucks hard on it. i once killed a guy like 150 meters away with a headshot followed by a headshot on his teammate with a nagant officer which obviously didnt kill him :(

I love the Crossbow. The one shot range is actually really good, you just need to hit... I've one shot (no headshot) people across such long ranges. One of my friends is proof that the Crossbow can one hit across 35 meter (potentially even more). We just banished, he was full HP and got one shot by a Crossbow (normal bolt) across 35 meters (no head shot... So it must have been a upper torso hit).

Do you think the base nagant is a good alternative to the conversion now that the price has went up for a budget loadout? I don't think I've ever used it beyond the silenced variant, since if I want a nagant, I usually go the double action and the conversion just felt like a better base nagant. But now I'm considering giving it a go.

Nagant is probably the worst weapon atm, but it's very cheap and lvl1. Maybe could be better if you buy HV bullets on it

in my experience with crossbow is that...defensive and patience...as long as no one know u are there u can deal alot of damage to enemies...that is where Crossbow shine over Shotgun.

Does any body have problem with secdonary region..i mean i select asia...the game forcefully finds europe in which ping is high i only want to play in asia.

all my loadouts are so much pricier now and the questline for billy story isn't helping at all

The Springfield is a headshot machine and its hip fire accuracy is great. It's definitely useful, especially with dumdum ammo. The only worthless gun I can think of is the standard M1895, it's vestigial.

Been using the crossbow for a long time now. One of my favourite weapons in the game its just too fun and so cheap. Its silent and u dont need a knife or knuckles

Getting one-taps with shotguns is stil way more cosistent imo.

As a crossbow enjoyer it's nice to see a video about it, but there is a small problem. The crossbow does not have infinite headshot range, the bolt does have significant damage drop and at farther ranges it will not one tap to the head. However, the only bolt that will one tap to the chest or head is the explosive bolt, but it has a LOT of drop to it so, have fun with that lol.

@@Chandler2205 imho the damage multiplier vs AI seems to be different. Compact Pistols for example have also different headshot range vs Grunts (because of that Grunts sometimes survive headhots that would kill a enemy hunter)

@@mjy000 If that's the case then it is likely that a headshot will kill a player for infinite range then, and if you wanna gurantee a kill then try learning the explosive bolts, as long as you chest or head them, they will 100% die since there's no dmg drop for a explosive.

Fighting in a lair with chains makes it pretty useless. The non limb penetration is really noticeable as well, even if 90% of people don't know about the limb penetration like all the guys on Reddit. I love it but it just has too many bad situations

I assume you understand that different body parts take different damage. The arms take less damage than the torso and you have decent odds of hitting them with the crossbow so that will take away the instant kill. Shotguns within their effective kill range (and rng willing for the pellets to actually hit the hunter) will basically ignore an arm and do body damage. The shot bolt ammo will do the same. Just think of the arm like a fence post. That boney fence post will stop the bolt from hitting the body BUT it won’t stop shotgun pellets. This only applies if you hit them from the side and not just miss the torso altogether and only hit the arm or shoulder.

Crossbow is the ultimate shotgun. Its a one shot but its YOUR problem. Mad reliable, stupid utility, and silent on top of that. By the time you hear it, youre dead. Its ONLY weak when people KNOW you have it and multiple attack you at once. Otherwise, the crossbow is DAMN good.

The crossbow is so out of place. The fact that it can 1 tap like a slug but is quiet is fucking bonkers to me. Really wish it was more like the hand crossbow and a utility weapon instead of silenced shotgun/grenade launcher.

Since the halloween update, the crossbow is fucking broken and useless. I hit three people in the chest today (one of them was literally 6 meters in front of me) with shotbolt and it DIDNT kill them. I even watched the replay and they just survived it. So, I ran into three hackers or devs just broke it

I think prices going up would potentially kill this game. Game needs new players to survive. If you play solo on 6 or 5 (strong 5) star level you will lose money. Beetle is anti camping - but you need to camp to use it .... pointless Sitting in bush and wait for kill too not lose money....another camping friendly decision.

Soooo… your primary argument is that this is more ‘budget’ because it’s $16 cheaper than the primary than the other budget gun…?

The only argument this video is making is that now is that the crossbow is better than the Romero because it’s $16 cheaper.
