The new biomedical engineering program attracts student problem-solvers

The latest major at Iowa State will combine the expertise from the College of Engineering with knowledge of the human body from the fields of biology, kinesiology, and biomedical sciences. Biomedical engineering begins as a major this fall, with the first cohort of students getting hands-on experience right away. The interdisciplinary program isn't entirely new to ISU, having been offered as a minor since 2009. Now students will have to chance to work on this field full-time as they pursue their degree.
