Gone will be the days of "Cheap/Affordable" Balisongs being the typical TRASHY BeAR & SOn $10 pieces of Alluminum SHITE that BREAK when dropped on WOODEN TILE FLOORS 😑 😂 lol I remember my 1st Balisong was a Splash Painted Neon Green beater POS 😂 my 1st REAL Balisong was The Maxace Obsidian Spearpoint back in 2021. Fast for ward to now and I've had the Maxace Obsidian G10 Bowie that I passed down to my cousin. Then I bought the Pelican Mini and that was my 1st Channel Handle Balisong, and NOW I have The New Maxace Copper/Marble Carbon fiber Inlay Covenant 3 and it's a TANK of a Balisong❤ plus I have Atropos sending me my Custom Green Demon 2 I ordered back in 2022 and should be getting that any month now after losing my 1st 1 in Tramsit 😂! So this will be my 6th REAL Balisong and my 7th in general. Thank you for your review I'll be awaiting my Nabalis Canyon soon ❤

Just bought the Trainer a minute ago. I absolutely love the cheap balisong scene expanding. Nabalis is really on fire making strides to expand the hobby to make balisongs of all different grades and prices that's an easy recommend for any who's interested in the hobby. This thing could make for a great gift for folks who are wanting to get into flipping, but also make for a great Semi- disposable beater that can be awesome to learn tricks on. Can't wait for mine to arrive.

Glad I found this channel. Loved balisongs when I was in middle school like a decade ago but had to resort to cheap Amazon flippers that always fell apart. Now that I’m older I would’ve gotten a bench made 42 of they just rereleased the damn thing but looks like I’ll be getting this to start out on once again.

I thought it was hilarious that he mentioned that his Vulp and Vulp Pro were way better than it every chance he could! "I really like it. It flips well. I mean, it's no Vulp, and certainly isn't as good as the Vulp Pro but, it does flip really well". Paraphrasing, Lol

Thanks for the video Den! This solidified my decision and it's getting added to my collection lmao. I've come to dislike aluminum handles for the grip issues and just recently got into false/dulled blades. Stoked to try it out.

They were smart with that price, because its cheaper durable more people are buying and giving them more money since the price is closer to those normal cheap metal balisongs but better, if other balisong brands were to make this they'd raise the price higher so love Nabalis for making this hobby even easier to get into without having to worry about budget

That really reminds me of when I started flipping because back than most of them ware made out of that. I’m super excited about that Bali because I flipped a steel one for years and also are not a fan of aluminum Handels.

I feel the same way, it's like a balisong from the early 2010s but with modern day specs and flippability, and the value is just insane. thanks for watching!

A few years ago I wanted to create a steel handled balisong that was around 4.5oz, I had one modeled up, got some quotes, but never made it. I didn't think there would be interest, since the only other notable steel handled balis (the 6X and the barebones) were absolute garbage. They are not exactly budget, they cost a good bit more to manufacture than AL models. AL is cheaper, and faster to machine. Nabalis prices are more or less unbeatable for 99% of makers because of the scale they produce their designs at. It's almost unfair. It is nice to see the cheaper brands finally starting to produce something noteworthy though, but I don't think this will trigger a revolution of sub $100 steel balisongs, it's just not feasible for a mass majority of brands.

I was mostly hoping the budget amazon brands embrace stainless steel as they'll be the one with the capabilities to do so at a more affordable price, I know every time a US maker uses SS it's like a billion dollars

I have the trainer version and have been flipping it for a couple of days. I gotta say that this thing is sublime for its price. Nabalis somehow managed to make a steel balisong feel lighter than it actually is. This is due to the skeleton handles with concave speed channel cuts similar to the Polaris, whilst also having a skinnier profile on the handles to make the experience very ergonomic. The Canyon can literally chaplin for days compared to the Vulp, and the momentum is carried so well thanks to the handle bias weight distribution. There is one thing that concerns me however. My particular Canyon came with a considerably smaller handle gap compared to the one I've seen in your video, as well as the images on Nabalis' website. It doesn't really affect the flipping performance, nor does it pinch me. However, I am a bit concerned on the longevity that the pinless design may provide, even with the stainless steel construction. Only time will tell if I was just unlucky, or if this is a common occurrence amongst certain Nabalis Canyon refinements after the initial batch.

Great video. I ordered the black one today. $49.99 with not tax and free shipping. Crazy good deal. I also hope for more SS handles as long as they keep them under 4.5oz. I imagine they could make really light chanwich SS handles. Oh, and your fav new trick @6:10 is coincidentally mine too. That's all I've been doing for the last week, so much so that I placed all my balisongs in order for which ones palm fan the best. Surprisingly my The One Tsunami fans more effortlessly than all my grails, although the Serif with no weights is about a tie.

We do have to think about how a big part of the market for new flippers is how cool the aluminum handles can look with their bright colours and everything. But I do think this is a great new design and I’m super excited about it

First time I heard this bali flip, it produced a ring like that of a titanium bali, and despite I wasn't given an affirmative answer on whether it was titanium or not, it already caught my attention. Hope these will help get more ppl into bali flipping and join the ride of fun for a long time (providing these will hold up for that long time). Abt the point of how stainless steel balis weigh, I've only had one stainless steel bali with G10 on it, the Glidr Bermuda, and I use it as dumbbells for my fingers, hoping they train better. If the Canyon holds up well, I also think stainless steel balis have got a great potential for the bali flipping future. Great review, and 15:52 leaves me wondering, so what is the current best beginner/ budget aluminum bali 😄nah, I guess we don't need to know now, do we

if one was a psychopath and still wanted a budget aluminum bali over this one id probably say get a vulp or the gradient version of the marcolo c116, specifically the gradient version tho cuz that's the only version that has grip. But I too am very excited to see if the affordable steel bali trend catches on, based off all these comments it seems like everyone else is down to see that too! thanks for watching!

As a huge BRS SSBB fan, and starting out flipping with a kershaw Lucha this really looks awesome, especially for the price.

I hoped it would be good but it looks and sounds like it’s a steal! I personally really enjoy the super skeletonized look (like a SlifT) so that’s a plus. Based on how good it is I bet the rest of this year will be manufacturers racing to see who can make the best budget steel balisong. Maybe they’ll even try using slightly more premium 4140PH stainless steel in the $60-$120 range.

Is it possible to sharpen the false blade and is it any sharp when it comes from the box? I have never dealt with live blades, but kinda want to try so im wondering could i make this any similar to a real blade? Or is the false blade just for the looks?

when you get it only the tip is a little pointy, but people have sharpened nabalis false live blades before!

Steel liners + G10 scales + aluminum spacers + sandwich has a lot of potential.

Idk why Nebalis won't offer a live blade version. It would cost them like $.25 to pay someone to sharpen a blade and they could charge 5 bucks. I'd pay that to NOT have to sharpen my blade myself. Oh well. It does look intriguing though.

I think they're trying to get the closest they legally can to selling a "live blade" to most parts of the world, there may be other rules and laws that may bar them from being able to make live blades, but overall I think trainers are more profitable just because they are legal everywhere

Basically what the barebones always wanted to be, but not 200 plus bucks.

By the way what is going through your bite handle? Towards the end of the handle it looks like there is some extra piece of metal. But only on your bite handle. It can be seen clearly at 0:54.

from what i've seen it's not that hard to put an edge on one of these, I know others have with little struggle, however idk how well 420 steel will hold an edge

@@DenDenBMX It will hold an edge enough to cut a few fingers before it needs a touchup. I'm old enough that most of my childhood knives were 420. I always wondered why no one had tried this before.

I just wanna say I've felt plain anodized aluminum like the Squid Mako that is grippy as sandpaper. I also have flashlights like my Emisar D4 that is borderline abrasive from the ano layer. Aluminum can be grippy, but the manufactures just pump out this slippery glossy nonsense.

Vulp probably flips better but the canyon is better as just a beginner knife because it is steel and much more durable. If you are starting out, I'd go for canyon unless you know damn well that you won't drop it every 4 minutes. I wanna see a comparison between the canyon and falcon tho...
