I typically always adore Porsche's commercials. This way by far one of the worst ads I've ever been subjected to. The creator tried WAY too hard to be trendy to the point that that the new car was barely visible. Shockingly horrendous.

Also the demographic in the ad is the least likely to be able to hold a job where they can afford a $100K EV, much less a garage or driveway to charge it.

@@gonschor7dleven The standard Macan costs 60k$ and yes… many can afford it which is why is their most selling SUV. Yes, the EV version is more expensive but the demographic of the Macan is still more varied than other models. I am considering getting one and I am not a doctor. You can afford nice things if you have your Investments in check instead of spending them on 💩.

​@@powerhouse884 The people buying $60K base Macans are not the same buyer of $100K Macans. That's a 66% price differential, people aren't going to "stretch" to make that up. And if you're some sort of power investor, you're not buying a Macan anyway, you're more likely to be a top-trim Cayenne or Panamera buyer.

It tells you all about the direction that Porsche's marketing team is taking. Since this has been an issue for two years now, it also tells you a lot about where the company as a whole is heading. None of it is good. Making ads that not only do not appeal to your purchasers but are actually repellent to them is not a wise move. Go woke, go broke. Watching this stupidity in real time.

It is as though they know exactly who their target market is and intentionally attempted to avoid and alienate all of those people with this ad. Comments section will be filled with Gen Z kids the love the ad but are either still in school or working entry-level jobs and have zero ability to actually buy the car.

LOL We are on the same page. Folks that will never buy the car yet fill the diversity void for the shareholders. I thought more of Porsche, been a fan and buyer of theirs for 30 years. Also why does the ALL ELECTRIC seem to have a petrol/Gasoline over dub noise to it every time they show it? I thought it was all electric. Cumon Porsche you used to be about the cars. Now you seem more interested in meeting diversity quotas. I will have to check and see how many Porsche cars total let alone the Macan that these types of people drive next time I am out and about. Your advertising to the wrong market and alienating your existing customers at the same time. Go woke Go Broke.

These commercials (BMW is doing it also) are getting more and more strange :) The more crazier it is, the better... seems to be the future :) But this style is actually quite boring and unappealing to be honest.

IMO, Porsche’s marketing of their electric cars is disturbing and dark (despite the flowers and fashion). Including the classic 911 in this “film” seems like desperate name dropping for clout: “This cool vintage car? Yeah. We did that.”

Car was visible for a few seconds, and remaining time wasted for everything else. At the end didn't even see the car properly. I remember the 2nd generation Panamera ad, it was great and all about the car. This ad was about everything else but the car. Huge thumbs down..

Am I missing something? At 1:05 the badging has "Turbo". I would love to know the engineering behind turbocharging an all-electric Macan. Or is it that unique branch of engineering known as "marketing"?

Porsche’s fast models are just branded as Turbos

EVs are heavy however they have a good weight balance compared to the front mounted engine. Due to the battery placement in the middle of the platform, they have really good in the corners. Same ICE engines may have understeer but EVs have better handling❤️🤜

Is it snow worthy?

Like the live unveiling in Singapore I watched...lots of Sizzle not much Steak. I am a Macan owner and I still have a lot of questions. Some of the speakers/presenters in the Singapore unveiling, well their English was very hard to understand and my wife is Japanese.

How can they offer that range with “same old” battery technologies? Looking forward to see real life tests.

Much improved drivetrain efficiency over the old VAG electric platforms coupled with good aerodynamics for the class and a big battery.

They do not. Porsche took a lot of heat for this when they introduced the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S. They made the claim that the word "Turbo", in their corporate parlance, denoted the high-powered variants in their lineups, much like "M" is used for BMW. They do have a point because while many 911s have turbos, only the Big T turbo gets the name, indicating it's status and power as the top dog. I think it is stupid but that's how they do it.

Great looking Macan from the split seconds I can get a view. Where are we at with the synthetic fuels? Electric is simply not practical. Charging is comparable to petrol costs for m the US, range estimates are unreliable and lower than petrol variants, and a road trips are not feasible.
