The SE is meant to be a collectors item just like the Live 2 retro and One retro. It is not Akai's fault people hyped it up beforehand with no information.

People by nature, always want the best they can get or afford and you only live once bro, and like laughter happiness is good for your health. I got the new MPC SE and I'm loving it and in fact, I spend more time on my new MPC than I do with my wife, but then again, I've been married for 30 something years and you guys can understand where I'm coming from.

I agree and admittedly, it is a selling point for many buyers. I really don’t care about people saying something is wrong with that. That was part of for me, 35%, but a big part. Life is short. Enjoy what you can while here. If Akai dropped another MPC tomorrow, I’d buy it. Like a person who collect Jordans. But I do use my gear and get a return on investments. Joy is the first reward then comes residual, passive income from music. It’s not work. It’s fun with a paycheck. Thanks for commenting!! Pull the trigger and get it. It’s different in person. I see many complaining about it and in their next video, they are unboxing it. 😒👀😩

Facts. And the original MPC 60II was more expensive when it first dropped than $2500. And that was when the $1 was worth more in value. The SP1200’s price is insane for a good used one. I’m just looking for the right one.

I hooked mine up to one of my synths for playing the keys type plugins and it is so awesome. I like the new plugins that were bundled. I love that is seems faster. And I definitely love the look. The only thing i wished for was for Akai to go all in and give 8GB RAM or even better if the ram was upgradable. But I definitely don’t regret it for sure. I would not agree that’s the case for every MPC user. I personally don’t solely depend on gear to make me a better musician. Some do so I understand your comment. I think for me, it’s the work flow and the feel of being hands on with my instrument. For me, I’m curious about vintage and new gear. It’s not so much as to think this is the magic piece of gear that will make me a super producer. So much more to it. I would say 50% of my issue is GAS. The rest is curiosity and using what works for me, and being able to teach to others as I have learned from my mentors and influences. Great comment! Thanks @RalphLBaer !

Reminds me of why does a Roland JV1080 module from the mid 90s sound better than anything Roland has released ever since. imo. Probably bc it's got uncompressed PCM samples in it, not the compressed (so called lossless) RDAC Compression regime thingy. And possibly the DAC converter knew how to translate that shit properly (or possibly multiple in out in out gave us some aliasing crunchiness/dirt/fatness lol). The squeaky clean anorexic stuff these days is quite concerning tho (not that it can necessarily detract from a good beat, but y'know). Don't they know phat? Or are they sampling their goods from the NI Maschine & softsyths? Lol BTW the dude in this vid never mentioned the MPC 5000, that thing was dope tbh, AND had a built in VA (virtual analog) - BUILT IN! Yeah boooy!

Things were made different then. I do have the 5000. One of my top favs. The synth in it is nice, underrated overall, thanks to Just Blaze and his rant. Akai eventually updated the OS to version 2.0 and fixed everything. It’s a sleeper, whenever I see one for sale at a give away price, I buy it. I got my last 5000 for $400. Hard drive connection was loose and would not boot. Fixed it. Good as new. I can’t believe I didn’t put the 5000 in there. I thought I showed the 5000. But yes, I agree, the MPC 5000 is the most slept on MPC ever. I know Alesis took over and it may have changed some things but it still sounds good to me. I’ll make a dedicated video for the 5000. The Alesis synth engine sounds grate. I was able to use it without any other sound modules for most tracks.

And I don’t like sampling with Maschine. I actually sampled a lot of the Maschine expansions into the MPC 3000 and ASR-10. The samples sound so much better after being processed through those converters. Info light weight dance and pop tracks, scoring, etc…with Maschine for most of its use. However, if you load the right samples, it sounds good.

The filters, the effects were top-notch and that eight voice chorus effect very usable, and the bottom-end big thump + the overall sound had a nice electronic bite to it. And yes I think underrated the VA in the MPC5000. And quite probably a sleeper, I concur. I had a listen to the reissue of the JV1080 on Roland cloud, y'know the software version, sadly it doesn't stack-up imo, the sound not the same. Maybe the analog output section in those hardware units was made better back in those days. Would love to see you do an mpc 5000 vid. They all have the same motherf&&^ functions that you NEED to make music. Why pay $2500 for something that you can get for $699??? I bet that I can do more on my MPC 2000 Classic with 35MB/4 effects/No preloaded sounds/No synths/No touchscreen/No DAW/no pad performance/none of that modern MPC workstation bs than you can do on any modern MPC workstation. These MPC workstations been out since 2017. Name me one classic album that was done with these bs machines? Just amateurs or youtubers making beats at home. Bahahahahahahaha. All those features and tech. Yet you cant make one motherf&&^ hit. Change your name to Akai MPC Workstation stan. It's NOT about the equipment you use. It's about the talent who uses the equipment.
